- Head, Shoulders, Knees, Ball is a game that can be used for primary school children as a warm up activity in a PE lesson, after school club or holiday camps. We have created these videos to help support teachers and coaches with ideas for their PE lessons. Head, Shoulders, Knees, Ball is an activity that focuses on reactions and listening skills.
To play Head, Shoulders, Knees, Ball you will need a ball on a cone in-between two children (see thumbnail). Coach will call out the following instructions;
Head - Children put two hands on their head
Shoulders - Children put two hands on their shoulders
Knees - Children put two hands on their knees
Toes - Children put two hands on their toes
Feel free to add your own instructions such as turn around, star jumps, touch the floor etc.
When the coach shouts 'BALL' children should try to grab the ball from the cone and the first child to grab the ball from the cones scores a point. A very simple game which doesn't require much equipment but one that the children love.
We hope that you are able to use this in a PE lesson soon ...

Have the children stand back to back and grab the ball through their legs. Will reduce the chance of a head collision
