I feel your pain. I often take screenshots for the wiki, and I hate it when I spend a lot of time lining up a perfect pic of a boss just to have other players run in and kill it. I've even had players get mad at me for not helping fight when, little do they know, I didn't want that boss dead and they ruined my shot! I know they don't know what I'm doing, but waiting for respawns can feel like an eternity.
When I used to play ESO, I always aced in Battlegrounds winning roughly 75% of all matches and acing on the scoreboard. It was only when I joined Cyrodiil and The Imperial City that I truly understood the pain of PvP.
I hope the High Isles peace talks result in Cyrodiil turning from PvP to a PvE zone. Maybe they can do a zone redesign like World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
Im so glad you made a video on this, I've said a while ago this is one of my top favorite quests to do and its a shame many people wont get to fully experience the quest due to being in a pvp zone. But thanks to you the community knows what a gem is hiding in those sewers lol
I like to think that in a few hundred years, when Tiber goes to light the Dragonfires back up again, he meets the Drake of Blades, who is part of the Dragonguard, and, inspired by her name, revives the ancient organization, calling it the Blades.
Been there as well many years ago. Some pvp players just don't get the hint of questers to leave them alone. And the IC NPC enemies are tougher than the average zone ones. But the story line felt good and with all the challenges it is a true achievement to get done.
This zone story was a pain to get through, so much so that I have never done it again on any of my alts. It took weeks just to get half the story done because everytime you were almost done with a story objective, someone from the other two factions would without fail pass by, spot you and kill you, disregarding the fact that you were just trying to complete the quest and posed no threat to them, forcing you to do it over, and over and over again, sometimes without success. There were times I literally had to log out, and play on other character for a few hours, and then return to my main in the hopes that I could complete the quest. Guess what happened? What I wouldn't give to have a PvE story zone version of Cyrodiil. The zone is huge, and beautiful, and I would love to traverse it through story content, like the other zones.
Love the quests in the Imperial City. Definitely made more difficult by the PvP though. It really is a pain when a player decides to just target you like that. We thank you for suffering through it to bring us this video! 😂
I've not done that questline - for the exact reason you describe....there are several players who hide at any/all quest markers and one shot you. I am sick of trying. I don't PVP. And why attack a lone player clearly doing quests? In your case clearly not for telvars....i mean they are not hurting anyone.
Hahahaha ok an idea for the ones who would like to do the questline, just go in no cp campaign since its mostly dead, and use invis pots or just use cloak as a nightblade;) and thanks man for the great vid as always, and always wanted to know what was goin on in imp city, think ill start that questline and enjoy it 😉
The thing is that the build someone else made for me (I suck) is centered around cp and the mobs completely destroyed me on no cp while I take out bosses without problem on regular servers
@@ImperialKnowledge hahahah yeah its something else the set building in no cp campaigns, i know this pain all too well, so i dont know how you feel about heavy attack builds ? A 1 piece slimecraw, sergeants on body with a sergeant's lightning staff, fill the rest up with deadly strike and obviously the oakensoul ring, upside is you can slap it on any charachter and deal with mobs and bosses with eaaaseee, only downside is really experienced players know how to deal with heavy attack builds, but even they will struggle if you position youre opponent between mobs
I feel your pain man! 3 days ago I was killed by some dude from AD right at the entrance to Ebonheart Pact Base. And I was carring like 3-4k Tel Var Stones.... 4 steps more and I would save all this riches :(
@@kacperlesniewski9035 No,I mean that you can go instantly from any point in IC or the sewers to your base by joining a cyrodiil campaign (in the alliance menu) then rejoining your IC campaign. From someone else's perspective, you're just zero summing in the middle of combat. That way you won't have to walk to your base
The pain of the imperial city is real... I remember I back when I was super active in eso playing daily I needed tel var stones for Akatosh knows what. I went to farm daedra npcs and got relentlessly murdered by players.
When I was doing the quest for the Temple District, one Daggerfall Covenant a**hole kept killing me again and again. The same guy, waiting for me, killing me over and over. After killing me like 12-15 times, he helped me out and did the quest with me. Good times. I hope he's doing ok.
Some people just are douchy enough to deride pleasure from being an annoyance to others. And if this guy was waiting for you at the quest objectives then it's pretty obvious he got his kicks from being a douche to you and probably many other questers before you. But I do think it's a pretty stupid idea in the first place to put story quests in a PvP zone, that combination will never go smoothly.
Seee! I told you ALL, the Dagger Fall Covenant are so often depicted as villainous in the region stories, but it is Pact player that are rabidly aggressive!
I tried exploring the Imperial City for the story i was level 15 or 20ish but everytime i went above ground i was 1 shoted by some level 1000+ player who i was trying to run away from everytime so i just quit playing ESO. Hopefully they redo the Imperial City.
🤔🤔 Finished it with my wee Sorcerer (Streak and invisible potion helped😂). I finished it months and months ago, before the uber surge in players in Cyrodil recently, who, because they can't join WvW, end up in the Imperial city😂. Dudes are getting ready for the Arkanist it seems.
But that's quite weird if I may say so. "The Soulburst" is essentially another Oblivion Crisis. I think that's weird. Why calling it "the Oblivion Crisis" :y it should be the "Third Oblivion Crisis" since there was Molag Bal and Mehrunes Dagon before, sending their minions through portals to Mundus.
Because oblivion is the name of Dagon's realm of oblivion. The planes of Oblivion, so it was the oblivion crisis. And the soul burst gets it's name from the fact that Manimarco is taking people's souls to sacrifice to Molag Bal. I suppose it's just them being specific.
Would someone mind pls telling me what lore reason/s they’ve given for the events in ESO not being acknowledged in the games made before but set after these events? Fmu Zenimax have said that these events are canon and set in the same universe as the games are in, not an alternative one, thank you.
In Universe this time was The Interregnum which was largely lost to history, something mentioned as far back as Daggerfall, aside from that ESO is also a Online prequel spinoff set before all the games and came way after all the other stuff released for the series thus far.
@@aa306911 I know that and said as much. I just wanted to understand what LORE reasons they decided to come up to justify the fact that a crazy and massive event wasn’t in those previous games.
@@adarus9941 thank you. It’s the lore part you mentioned that I was after. I need to look up info about the interregnum more to better understand it (is that when all the endings of daggerfall happened and were made canon?). Thanks again.
Tel var stones are extremely valuable (5k tel var~80k gold) so some people like to get them from other players (wich is precisely what makes them so valuable).A lot of players kill everyone in sight in the hope of getting tel var so, most of the time,it's not personal.I'm mostly trying to justify what I did during Whitestrake's mayhem but pvp players shouldn't have to stop killing players in one of the two zones dedicated to them (btw, if you need to go back there, you can go to a different campaign if someone is spawnkilling you)
I know your pain, in order to complete the story and get the title for Tamriel Hero, you must go through quests in PVP Cyrodil and IC. Fuuuuuck that noose
This was an early mistake in development that ZeniMax didn't repeat. In fact, PvP seems to be on the backburner. The rumor is that their next update after Necrom is the ESO version of CoD zombies.
PVP Wise it really is when trying to get things done, for the longest time I avoided IC until I finally got it done, PVE is naturally gonna be more enjoyable and even then you either like the gameplay or don’t. I don’t blame you for not wanting to, I think it’s great Imperial Knowledge makes these lore vids for those who are not wanting to necessarily play ESO but is interested in the lore and those who play ESO wanting to recap what they experienced.
You suffered through merciless PvP to give us this content! We thank you!

I actually liked the Imperial City storyline.
It was just painful to dodge all the PvP to get to your objectives.
