@@thathobbyguy6135 do you understand what he was talking about? I was at that new Hampshire race and I can tell you that he is talking about how the safety car was stolen at Talladega in the 80s
6:28 Nascar was racing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and some time into the race at turns 1 and 2 and one driver being Kyle Busch (The 18 car), radio’d his team saying it was raining at turns one and two and nascar didn’t put out a caution until Kyle and 2 other drivers went sliding at turn two. So in retaliation Kyle Busch goes up to the pace car during the caution period and pushes it to tell the officials he was upset with that call.
@driver61 sure with '94 and flat bottom? I just watched the Benetton '94 in Cologne and u can clearly see that this car was already using the wood underfloor. Also got Schumi disqualified in SPA '94 after a high abressive use of the wood floor...
Hope you are able to read this in the middle of so many comments. :) I have a question: I noticed some F1 cars have a weird windscreen. It's jagged I guess, looks like sharks teeth. I'm guessing it helps with aero hitting the driver but it would be cool to have an proper explanation to it. Thank you.
I feel like the v10s were better than the v12s because they were at a time when development was so steep and they were just insanely developed by the end of the v10s. The v8s didn't evolve much (weren't allowed to) and had less displacement and cylinders.
The v-10s were awesome. And the v-8s had a good song too. The problem with the hybrid era isn't the volume, but the pitch. Lowering max RPMs lowered the note, so the cars no longer "scream" like they use to.
Welcome to Nascar things. It is a very normal thing to make nose to tail contact with other cars while drafting in the normal order of racing. It is also pretty common for the safety car driver to be a former Nascar driver as well, so it is kind of an in joke making the safety car driver feel like they are racing again.
6:28 Kyle Busch and several others told NASCAR to not start the race because there was rain in turns 1 and 2. NASCAR of course did not listen and waved the green anyways. Well soon enough all the leaders went sliding into the wall in that turn and Kyle Busch was bumping the safety car to tell NASCAR he was not happy with the call.
In general you'll see a lot more shenanigans from NASCAR drivers. They're heavy and slow compared to F1, but they can take a beating. Nudging the pace car isn't going to hurt them, not when they routinely nudge each other at 190 miles an hour.
I want to talk more about leclerc saving that spin, could he have done that simply by releasing the brake? I thought for sure he'd grabbed the clutch allowing wheels to rotate backwards.
Another funny topic you could cover : Power Rankings. Since F1 had been Americanized, we now get 'Power Rankings', even on F1's official website! 🤣 Why do we need power rankings? We already have a driver's and constructors championship table which clearly shows how everyone is doing. They do it with all sports stateside and it makes absolutely no sense. THIS WEEK WE HAVE TEAM X RANKED #1 IN OUR POWER RANKINGS! Who cares? It means absolutely nothing, literally.
5:16 Didn't he say that exact scenario wasn't going to happen this year in the previous F1 Reddit video? 😅 "Will we see much of that this weekend?" "No."
Are F1 going to do the same sanded down carbon that Koenigsegg offers as an option? They take all the resin off and it's more scratch resistant because of it.
F1 exec room is full of boomers who think that using electric/hybrid engines will somehow sell the technology in other cars. If they want to ACTUALLY make an impact they should stop shipping A GIANT CITY of 100,000 people and all the facilities 23 times a year. The jets and especially boats that move all those buildings and gear are pollution mega villains, not the 20 cars running several hours a week. May be F1 can use one of their logistics sponsors to make a decent schedule and at least electric truck their cities shorter distances.
I was in Bologna before the Imola GP weekend, saw Max's jet parked with the rest of the private jets on Saturday while we taxing for take off. Pretty easy to spot amongst the other smaller white jets :)
