    Hi, thanks for the video! I have a question? How can I define the application of the dead load if an explicit dynamic step is present in the analysis? Because in this case I can't introduce a previous static general step in wich I can define it.

    Thank you very much for this video and the clear explanation. But I have a question, I have used mass scaling in dynamic, explicit. It is working but it is not working in dynamic, temp-disp, explicit. The stable time increment is still small. Please clarify

    Thank you for the great video.
    I have questions. If the step time in explicit should mimic the experiment, then I should select 600 seconds? Because my experiment takes ten minutes.
    If I did so, the analysis would take, as you said, forever. So I would go to the 'last resort', the mass scaling. At that point, should I select the target time increment according to the law (l_element/cd)? At that point I would need an eternity to get my simulation done. So I must increase it, right?

      In a quai-static physical test, extra slow loading is used for other reasons; for instance, to take photos, observe/document damage and inanticipation of any issues that may occur that will require stopping the tests. In FEA, you can definetly go faster than the actual test. And again, you can use mass scaling but keep an on dynamic noise in the data and check the energy field variables.

    Sir, I have doubt about loading versus time . If I have slab with x,y,z dimensions. How much load with time I should apply to get failure

    Thank you for this excellent video. It has helped me a lot. Here, I have a question.
    When I simulate the quasi-static compression process of a hyperelastic material structure, using C3D8R elements, it works fine with the default mesh size. However, once I refine the mesh, the excessively distorted elements error is reported at the beginning of the calculation. Then, I tried the C3D8 element and the C3D8I element and it worked fine. So, is it ok to use C3D8 elements and C3D8I elements in ABAQUS/Explicit? It seems that usually people use C3D8R elements.

      You should select the element type based on your simulation needs and not for any other reason. I recommend you check ABAQUS documentation to learn about the different capabilities of each element as well as their advantages and disadvatages. Note the different elements deform in different ways; for instance, one elemement may be good for compression problems while another may be good for bending problems.

    Thank you very much for all the great videos, I have a question if you don't mind, I'm modeling a masonry wall under an earthquake load, I'm getting noise in the force data and I have done many things but still the same result, do you have any other advice to avoid the noise, also I'm getting kinetic energy something near to 1E-03, is that something that can effect the result or do I have to compare it with the external energy, Thnk you very much

    • @AElkady
      @AElkady  2 роки тому +1

      Noise is a result of dynamic osscilations in your model. Make sure 1) your loading rate is not too fast; 2) use double pericision for the job accuracy, 3) the mesh shape is well-proportined, 4) no hourglassing or shear locking is taking place in the mesh elements during the analysis, 4) no sharp changes in loading. As a rule of thumb, the kinetic energy should be less than 5% of the total internal energy.

    Thank you very much I'm asking allah to give you best🤲.
    And please I want to ask about the reason that in the explicit solver the action force is not equal the reaction and always there is a slight difference. While in static solving they are exactly the same.
    Thanks in advance 🙏

    Hello Sir, I am using shell element S4R type for a composite material, and in the verify mesh section, I cannot select or highlight the elements that might be potentially poor so that I can create a set and assign mass scaling to only those elements. The error message I get is: 'stable time increment could not be calculated for any element in the selected regions. No section assigned...'
    Thank you in advance!

      Consider deleting and then re-defining the interaction.
