- RetroSkins has been getting requests for games from more recent seasons. So, to appease our younger demographic (does this page even have a demographic?), we go not so way back to 2013!
Wait, you ask... wasn't 2013 a total dumpster fire? Yes. Yes it was. But here at RetroSkins, we believe that there's something worth remembering from even the worst of years. That's what we're all about - the deep cuts, baby!
If you don't recall this '13 game, the Redskins (2-5) were hosting the very good Phillip Rivers and his pretty good San Diego Chargers (4-3) in this mid-season match-up at FedEx. RGIII and the Redskins offense was surprisingly competent, with crisp passing, jumbo running, and even a little grit in overcoming an early tough-luck INT TD by the Charger defense. Meanwhile, the 'Skins D redefined the old bend-but-don't-break philosophy in thrilling fashion.
Don't remember how this one ended? Kick back and enjoy (no spoilers today!).

one of the better post 2012 RG3 games. 23/32, 291 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT. 86.8 QBR. Not entirely terrible. Plus that last drive in OT was beautiful
The INT wasn’t really thrown pass, and though he didn’t toss any TD’s he put DY in position to run it in. I miss #36 just as much as i miss #10

This game was surprisingly on TV in the Philadelphia area and I got to watch it!

Agreed. This is their best look.
I still remember that opening game in 2016 in which both the Chargers and Broncos wore awful color rush combinations that were very different than their regular uniforms.
If #85 Leonard Hankerson had not dropped a big third down pass in the Wild Card game the previous season against the Pisshawks, the Skins win that game.
The special teams unit was just dreadful! Same with the pass defense. What an awful season. I went to the Giants @ Redskins game this season and man what a bad experience that was!? RG3 was soooo bad and the Giants' D destroyed Washington.
