I remember during my internship. I was measuring the dimension of a cold storage area from beam to beam using chain measurement. I ran into a stack up error when our designer pointed it out, so I had to find where the error started which was frustrating. But overall it was worth the experience.

It is an honor to see how your "UA-cam" GD&T video cover the functional design, machine-tools & precision shop-floor inspection (metrology); marvelous to see your applications and manufacturing background. The DRF and the GD&T interrelationships establish a working-team effect, a functional world language of communications. Thank You!

Great video. Please correct me if I am wrong, for the example with the caliper (sine error), the error does not depend on the measured distance and depend only on the length of the sliding arm of the caliper. Also, the formula for the cosine error L*cos(theta) gives us the true value, but the formula for the sine error L*sin(theta) actually gives us the error itself. So the variable L in those two equations are of different nature: for the cosine error example L is a measured value, but for the sine error example it is the length of the arm of the caliper. I just wanted to mention all this so that people do not get confused.
Anyway, thanks for the video. Keep up the great work!

@Infinity MFG, I use GD&T at work. All of these symbols are on the blue prints, and engineering drawings. CMM software Metrology like Mitituyo Crysta Apex 7106, this one uses Window 9. CMM also have all of these symbols in its software. Some companies use PC DMIS software for their CMMs. But PC DMIS is an old software (2011-2012).

Yes, these first few videos are more about trying to help a person to actually do the basic set-up of the part before applying all of the rules that go with GD&T inspection.
A lot of inspection errors could be avoided if people understood how to restrain the part and what those various restraints and inspection methods implied throughout the inspection process.
