MI has turned into a skin scent almost but a little warm breath turns it back to life. Of course it doesn't project like a beast, but its pretty comforting. I disagree with longevity issues.
Total agree guys. Anybody who likes the smell of MI, I highly recommend (if you can find it) Sean John Unforgivable Multi Platinum. Hard to believe I know, but it is very similar and in fact better smelling, but it lasts 8 hours! Great stuff Bros
I feel like Millesime is more of scent for yourself. You can still smell it after a few hours but it is very calmed down. I consider it to be a cuddle scent whereas my boyfriend considers it to be an everyday scent.
MI has never smelled like watermelon to me. Just a fresh salt water and fruit note. I have received lots of compliments when wearing it and it has lasted 4+ hours on me. Definitely need to reapply once or twice throughout the day. I can't compare to SMW because I haven't sampled SMW. Great video and collab!

forgot to mention the watermelon note is a very sythetic accord in this. If you are trying to pickup on it and are searching for a genuine watermelon then that is probably why you arent getting it. Its more of like a generic jolly rancher watermelon right when you first spray it.

And while creed has been known to embellish the truth on nearly every facet of their existence they do openly admit that batch variation does in fact happen. Some scents more than others. GIT, MI and Aventus seem to be the most affected. I think an even stranger anomaly is how in most cases with creed they seem weak at first and after some use they seem to wake up and get stronger. That I find very very odd as I know of no other fragrance house whos scents do this. Creed would like us to believe it the high amount of natural elemenst they use in their fragrances. I am now these days leaning on this being bullshit as there are plenty of fragrance houses using many more natural elements and their compositions are stable. And that may be the very thing causing the supposed batch variation and that is a certain amount of instability in the way they compose their scents. Which at the end of the day seems more like a quality control issue rather than a testament to the quality.
In the interest of batch variations, do you know which batch you tested? As I found the 2013 has much improved longevity with 2011 supposedly being the worst.
I do get the watermelon at the initial "top background" so to say but it is gone when the alcohol has evaporated. I find this more feminine than unisex. It is a skin scent, i.e. you won't get a hint off of someone unless you are nose down at that persons skin. I get about 7 hours longevity if applied to the chest under my clothes and a bit less at my wrist. But again: there is no projection. The scent reminds me of "Hugo Boss bottled" in a feminine version. Less spicy, more fresh. The metallic/chemical note is a different vibe. Less sharp and less "cold metallic". This scent is also more round and rich. But it does not project.
I get "Dan Mish" performance with this one (ha)! 8+ hours with good projection. I have a 20ml decant and plan on getting a bottle after it's done. Different skin gets different results with everything though. Great vid, regardless. Try before you buy!
Glad i saw this video right now because i used to own this. And lately I've been thinking, maybe if i buy another bottle it will last longer........not likely. Such a shame, cause i think it smells great, but poor longevity is just a deal breaker for me.
You should do a review of Erolfa. It's basically a mix between MI and SMW. Personally I like the smell of MI quite a bit, but it doesn't perform very well.

I get about 4 to 6 hours with newer batches but I get 8 plus with my 2006 gold bottle. It's crazy that I wasn't a believer in batches but I do believe it now. I go heavy on the trigger with MI! Refresh during lunch hour. I'm trying to use up my bottle before the summer is over. 1/3 of bottle left. I wont be repurchasing once its done. Chic for Men has a great Watermelon smell to it. I have Love and Luck, and Unforgivable which are good alternatives. When I over spray with MI I do get compliments on it.
This is one of the few scents that I can say really does get better as it gets older. I have an old bottle and its really strong on the ambergris. Overhyped though.

This is my gfs 100% favorite summer scent! We both have the longevity problem but if you spray on clothes it isn't bad. It's nice if you want a summer close quarters scent that won't cloy BUT I agree with you two. A terrible scent if you wanna be smelled when going out. No one will smell you lol I have to bring a decant when going out and even then I reapply every hour haha
I see the same comparison to silver mountain water ..I think they may of used the same floral notes ..I think this is geared towards the rich as you'd go through a bottle a month.
I love this fragrance, it's one of my personal favourites. It reminds me of walking down the beach on a summers day with a cool breeze blowing. The fruitiness I get is watermelon mixed with cherry. I love the scent but the performance is very very poor, it lasts me 2 hours, which considering the price is unacceptable.

I love this one, but I didn't get good performance or longevity either until I got a 2014 batch, the others I sent back to the store. Creed must have heard the feedback of the Fradcom or started feeling the lint in their pockets, which is why I think they probably got rid of a lot of old stock by price dropping and selling in bulk. I enjoy the history of the fragrance and often wonder if it smells anything like what it did when it was first presented to middle eastern royalty.

I feel the same exact way you guys do about this fragrance ! When I bought this and sprayed it for the 1st time I was deffinitly disappointed. However, this did last on my skin 8-10 hours and projected above average so performace wasnt an issue for me as much as it was for you guys. Honestly though, the smell is only above average in my book
I agree with the bros. My 2011 batch lasted for an hour and a skin scent too quickly... the smell was alright i got a fruity salty scent but unfortunately wasnt great at all on projection and longevity so i ended up selling it. 4/10 for me.

I respectfully disagree guys! MI is my favorite sent of all time. I think this is a classic that will never die. I wear this any time I want to feel happy or going to an job interview. I get about 6 hrs on my skim, only in the summer though. The Sicilian lemon sent or what everyone calls watermelon is to die for. I find the the newer batches have a strong saltwater vibe in the initial opening, and the lemons kick in about 1 into the fragrance.
I really love the smell of MI but I get piss poor projection and longevity as well. If drench myself in the stuff, and im talking literally blasting myself with a few ml (I had to try) I get a couple hours. But that is a $12-15 wearing depending on how much you pay for the bottle. What really pisses me off about creed is just what they will call an EDP. If you buy a grey market creed that was intended for the UAE market many times where will be additional etching on the glass showing the alcohol concentration. My bottle of original vetiver is listed as 84.5%. Now if I understand it correctly and maybe you can confirm or correct me that would mean at max that their could be 15.4% fragrant chemicals in the composition. But we also know that they put water in fragrance too. Now unless the 84.5% means that its the alcohol is 84.5% pure and that alcohol is watered down 15% then we really dont know how much fragrance is actually in there. Either way millesime is a disgrace in the performance department. Now oddly enough my mother wears this one too. And for her she actually gets decent performance out of it. And Im talking like all day. But she sprays on her clothes.

I've tried this numerous times and in my opinion it does not live up to the hype, particularly when it comes to price vs results. It's just not worth it. There are many other Creeds that do deliver and blow this out of the water.
I had the older gold bottle and had to get rid of it because it lasted WAY too long for me. I like the modern bottles because it does not seem to last too long, but others will smell it long after you think its gone. Just my exp..
What is wrong with you guys? I get 9 hours out of this! You really should to test it more. It lasts longer than you think it does. There is gonna be a lot of harsh feedback on this review. :) BTW, I LOVE THIS stuff, especially the opening. There is no watermelon, there is something that resembles a melon accord. Test for a long period of time, and I'm sure you'll shift on this one. :)
lol I've tested it many times, and Carlos has as well. This is one of those fragrances where more people get crappy performance than those who get great performance.
Fragrance Bros. The beauty of this fragrance is its simplicity and its uniqueness (except for the Sean Jean clone of it). The opening is fresh, fruity, but not too sweet. It's not a generic fruit smell, though. You really won't find anything out there like it. The melon fades a bit and leads to an ever-so-soft, gentle dry down that is really just heavenly. The genius in this fragrance is how well it delivers a rather simple, but unique (other than the SJ clone, try to find something that smells like it), happy, uplifting scent that is just right for hot summer months. Also, this performs WAY better in the heat. Trust me. The sweetish melon fruitiness really blossoms in the heat. Don't write it off till you've liberally applied it on a hot summer day.
4fmagnet well, to each his own. But to your points, I've worn this in the heat, and to me it does smell generic. Creed has Silver Mountain Water which seems to share about 60% of the smell of this but is way better. So if I wanted to smell something similar, I'd honestly just wear that. :) Or if I want a melon fragrance, I think Un Jardin Apres La Mousson is much better with its melon note. In our opinions this really isn't that great of a fragrance, but I'm glad it works for you, and I'm glad you love it. :)
Fragrance Bros. Don't really get any similarity to SMW. SMW is heavy on the black currant and galbanum (which is a scent peeve of mine.. I just can't do it) and inkiness. But you're right, to each his own! Differences in taste is what makes this hobby so fun to discuss. Keep up the great reviews! Oh, and BTW I've heard the "melon" in this is actually a mix of Sicilian lemon with some other fruity stuff, which in combination gives off a melonish vibe.

I agree with performance, I share the same experience as you both did 1 hour tops for me, very poor performance. I would pass on purchasing another bottle based on poor performance.
Mi is the best scent ever. It does have performance issues. After 90 minutes i can no longer detect it. Women love it. 5 out of 5 scent. Value for money 1 out of 5. For the 90 minutes u do have it on u will feel like a king.

What? I get 8+ hours every time I wear this rock-star fragrance, and it projects well for 3-4 hours. It's one of my favorites during the summer. Now 1-3 hours...you're talking Sean Jean and Out of Love & Luck - perhaps somebody is passing these decants off as MI? There are so many bad decants out there (e.g., knock-off fragrance, improperly stored, etc.). Also, I get a fruity-aquatic vibe out of MI...but certainly not watermelon (I never understood that association). MI is one of my favorites during the summer. Of course, why anyone would wear DHI or LIDGE (the two most over-hyped and disliked my women fragrances) is beyond me. Regardless, I do appreciate the brutally honest and negative reviews! Why be politically correct and say "it's okay" or "I appreciate the art but it's just not for me" nonsense when you really mean to say, "This fragrance smells like my ball-sack after not having showered for a week." C'est la vie!

Ok..I own 2bottles of this Shiznit..it only lasts for first 4 to 5hrs max, after that its skin scent..it costs $350 but u can get at discount on line for a little less than$200. So is it worth it..YES Bit#$#s... P.S..just recieved DHI old formulation.. paid a little over $100 for 1.7oz.bottom line not too much of a difference the. On the bright side, now I own 3bottles of DHI. 2 new formulated and 1old formulated with silver collar. .. Cheers!!

I got 6 hours on the middle notes,and the musky cedar end notes are still lasting after 10 hours

It seems odd to review MI in fall. This one is definitely all about summer summer summer. On my skin, MI easily lasts 10 hours from 3 sprays.

I find the the newer batches have a strong saltwater vibe in the initial opening, and the lemons kick in about 1 into the fragrance.

I really love the smell of MI but I get piss poor projection and longevity as well. If drench myself in the stuff, and im talking literally blasting myself with a few ml (I had to try) I get a couple hours. But that is a $12-15 wearing depending on how much you pay for the bottle. What really pisses me off about creed is just what they will call an EDP. If you buy a grey market creed that was intended for the UAE market many times where will be additional etching on the glass showing the alcohol concentration. My bottle of original vetiver is listed as 84.5%. Now if I understand it correctly and maybe you can confirm or correct me that would mean at max that their could be 15.4% fragrant chemicals in the composition. But we also know that they put water in fragrance too. Now unless the 84.5% means that its the alcohol is 84.5% pure and that alcohol is watered down 15% then we really dont know how much fragrance is actually in there. Either way millesime is a disgrace in the performance department. Now oddly enough my mother wears this one too. And for her she actually gets decent performance out of it. And Im talking like all day. But she sprays on her clothes.

I have used this for over 15 years and nothing else. I learned real quick although you don’t smell it, it definitely is there. Women love it!!! That’s really what matters 😉

Fragrance Bros. Thanks for peeing on the hype train yet again, Daver. I totally agree with you and Carlos. I've tried this numerous times and in my opinion it does not live up to the hype, particularly when it comes to price vs results. It's just not worth it. There are many other Creeds that do deliver and blow this out of the water.
I had the older gold bottle and had to get rid of it because it lasted WAY too long for me. I like the modern bottles because it does not seem to last too long, but others will smell it long after you think its gone. Just my exp..

BTW, I LOVE THIS stuff, especially the opening. There is no watermelon, there is something that resembles a melon accord. Test for a long period of time, and I'm sure you'll shift on this one. :)
lol I've tested it many times, and Carlos has as well. This is one of those fragrances where more people get crappy performance than those who get great performance.
Fragrance Bros. The beauty of this fragrance is its simplicity and its uniqueness (except for the Sean Jean clone of it). The opening is fresh, fruity, but not too sweet. It's not a generic fruit smell, though. You really won't find anything out there like it. The melon fades a bit and leads to an ever-so-soft, gentle dry down that is really just heavenly. The genius in this fragrance is how well it delivers a rather simple, but unique (other than the SJ clone, try to find something that smells like it), happy, uplifting scent that is just right for hot summer months. Also, this performs WAY better in the heat. Trust me. The sweetish melon fruitiness really blossoms in the heat. Don't write it off till you've liberally applied it on a hot summer day.
4fmagnet well, to each his own. But to your points, I've worn this in the heat, and to me it does smell generic. Creed has Silver Mountain Water which seems to share about 60% of the smell of this but is way better. So if I wanted to smell something similar, I'd honestly just wear that. :) Or if I want a melon fragrance, I think Un Jardin Apres La Mousson is much better with its melon note. In our opinions this really isn't that great of a fragrance, but I'm glad it works for you, and I'm glad you love it. :)
Fragrance Bros. Don't really get any similarity to SMW. SMW is heavy on the black currant and galbanum (which is a scent peeve of mine.. I just can't do it) and inkiness. But you're right, to each his own! Differences in taste is what makes this hobby so fun to discuss. Keep up the great reviews! Oh, and BTW I've heard the "melon" in this is actually a mix of Sicilian lemon with some other fruity stuff, which in combination gives off a melonish vibe.
i too get good perfomance,but on my cloths... it even beat invictus when comes to longetivity,in my case.

I agree with performance, I share the same experience as you both did 1 hour tops for me, very poor performance. I would pass on purchasing another bottle based on poor performance.

Mi is the best scent ever. It does have performance issues. After 90 minutes i can no longer detect it. Women love it. 5 out of 5 scent.

What? I get 8+ hours every time I wear this rock-star fragrance, and it projects well for 3-4 hours. It's one of my favorites during the summer. Now 1-3 hours...you're talking Sean Jean and Out of Love & Luck - perhaps somebody is passing these decants off as MI? There are so many bad decants out there (e.g., knock-off fragrance, improperly stored, etc.). Also, I get a fruity-aquatic vibe out of MI...but certainly not watermelon (I never understood that association). MI is one of my favorites during the summer. Of course, why anyone would wear DHI or LIDGE (the two most over-hyped and disliked my women fragrances) is beyond me.
Regardless, I do appreciate the brutally honest and negative reviews! Why be politically correct and say "it's okay" or "I appreciate the art but it's just not for me" nonsense when you really mean to say, "This fragrance smells like my ball-sack after not having showered for a week." C'est la vie!

great review as always but I go the other way this time.....MI is the best after Aventus!! lol...It is amazing . I get at least 4 to 6 hours and decent projection as well. My girl friends loves this over Aventus and GIT. I do spray one on the shirt though. One of my most complimented!! lol...before I heard of youtube. DHI is the most over rated scent on youtube.

Ok..I own 2bottles of this Shiznit..it only lasts for first 4 to 5hrs max, after that its skin scent..it costs $350 but u can get at discount on line for a little less than$200. So is it worth it..YES Bit#$#s...
P.S..just recieved DHI old formulation.. paid a little over $100 for 1.7oz.bottom line not too much of a difference the. On the bright side, now I own 3bottles of DHI. 2 new formulated and 1old formulated with silver collar. ..

I get the difference of the 2 but I just dont like people thinking that Im wearing coolwater, especially where Im from where it is really popular.
