- Japanese Heritage Night with the Los Angeles Dodgers! A special evening with Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Naoto Inti Raymi.
On September 17, 2024 (local time), Shohei Ohtani played in the Los Angeles Dodgers' Japanese Heritage Night against the Miami Marlins, hitting his 48th two-run home run! This made Ohtani the first player in Major League history to achieve "48 home runs - 48 stolen bases." Moreover, in the following day's game, Ohtani stole his 49th base, closing in on the unprecedented "50-50" mark with just 2 home runs and 1 stolen base left.
On this day, singer-songwriter Naoto Inti Raymi performed the national anthem and met with Yoshinobu Yamamoto before the game. A two-shot photo of Naoto with Yamamoto, whom he met at a live concert, became a hot topic. Naoto later reflected on this episode happily on social media.
