As an avid RV camper I highly suggest finding an alternative, well vented, area to have your propane tank. It’s not recommended to have it in a confined space on the interior due to the potential build up of flammable gasses. Ester F they would need to upgrade their battery bank likely. Electric stoves, even two burner units, draw a TON of energy. That’s why even in campers and RVs you don’t see them.
Along with the compressor, think about a flat fix kit. I wonder if they still have the stock jacket that came with the van or if they've upgraded given the additional weight?

I'd be interested in hearing more about your thoughts on travelling during a pandemic and how you reached the decision to travel within the U.S. right now. The COVID-19 transmission and death rates in the U.S are the highest in the world and your daily case number right now is actually higher than it was in April. I'm Australian so am very much looking from the outside in at the COVID-19 situation in the U.S. and I know that means I don't have the full picture. I also think you're sensible and thoughtful people which is why I'm asking you this question, I'm genuinely interested and not criticising.
The cases spiking right now are in highly dense cities so hopefully they'll avoid those but the bigger issue is that we have people who don't believe in the science of masks and social distancing. It's certainly taking a chance anyway you slice it but if they practice hand washing, using a mask and keeping space I think they can limit there impact. (US resident, not a scientist just taking a guess at how there reasoning it or how I'd look at it)
@@clarkman325 With most of the United States opening up now it is only a matter of time before it spreads to the rural areas where they do not have the medical capacity to handle a spike in cases. It is the premature reopening up of states that has caused the spike in new cases as in Florida and Texas.
Did you happen to think about that fact that America is the third most populated countries in the world, and the 2 countries above it are communist, so we wound be able to know how high their case numbers really are... and over two thirds of India’s people live in poverty meaning their probably not able to test much, and China’s poverty rate Mysteriously fell from 88% to .07%.... wich only proves that their commies
For comparison, here is what is happening in my home city right now: www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-07/victoria-reimposes-lockdown-as-coronavirus-cases-rise/12429990
It probably wouldn't matter. What are the odds that one of their fans is going to find their van, break into it, figure out how to get into the safe, and steal some electronics? I would argue that it's probably very unlikely.
You would be surprised. Look at the trouble nomadic fanatic has with psycho viewers. Never put security past anyone. Always take your security as serious as you can especially when on a public platform.

A few tips/thoughts from a couple who made the leap into fulltiming a couple of years ago: 1. We got tired fast of making the bed every night so now just leave it in the bed formation. 2. No messing around with bedding: we use comfortable (warm to the touch) sleeping bags that we zip together to form an almost king size pouch for the both of us. They're very warm and keep us comfortable well into freezing temps. 3. The perfect heater we found is a Wave catalytic heater. Buy the legs for it and no installation is needed. Just unpack when needed. Uses no battery/electricity and is very efficient with propane. That's all for now, carry on. 🙂 Jorn and Hannah
Roof rack can be installed from outside using nutzerts or nut rivets... drill hole, nutzert is stuck in with tool and crimps to grab sheet metal... then bolt threads into... just make sure silicon or some other weather seal is used so you don't create a leak..👍
The tanks are mainly placed on the same height as the axels, therefore it won't interact with the handling of the van. While building a van like this you keep the most weight as low as possible, and balance the heavier components at good as you can. A slight inbalance won't be noticed while driving.
Kara, I’m going to need the list of all the stuff you bought from Amazon. Just like those “Things I bought from Amazon that just...make...sense” Tiktok videos.
Perfect partnership. You are truly inspiring others like me being yourself, grounded, real, minimalist, fun, happy, unassuming, simple and very loving and supportive to one another. All I see is positive vibe, trusting what every future moment holds be it luck or misfortune. Keep up. Keep doing. Keep going. And keep believing. God bless you.
You can attach rails without ripping the interior out. I attached my rails with plus-nuts. It can also be done using rivets. Thul has some options. An option for the future.
Roof rack- No problem. You mentioned getting to the inside to bolt it on. Solution: Use pop rivets. They hold all kind of pieces in a vehicle together. I'd use steel, not aluminum. Just get them large as possible and acquire or rent a pop rivet gun.
Don't come to Arizona without AC. You may melt in that van without it! It ranges from 90 to 115 starting early May to September, just some friendly info for ya. But I hope you do visit AZ. It really is a beautiful state. Can't wait to see all of your adventures of our wonderful country!
I heat my teardrop trailer with a small portable electric space heater when necessary. But heater or no heater I do recommend a CO/O2 detector. It's a very tight space you're cooking in, storing gas tanks in and possibly heating. Best to be safe! Can't wait to follow your US adventures!
My experience tells me some time in the near future you're going to add more solar panels on the roof. Two digital nomads who can spend a lot of time working use a lot more power than 300 watts of solar can deliver. When you're at it I highly recomend you change those lead batteries for lithium.
A suggestion - when you have a chance you should look to see what devices can be charged directly off of 12V DC (for example almost everything in your safe). Converting 12VDC to 110VAC and then back to DC is very inefficient and uses a lot of power. Comparatively, pulling 12VDC directly has no loss and if you need a different DC voltage (for example, a MacBook between 18-20VDC) or USB you can use a step-up or step-down DC voltage regulator which is pretty efficient (low loss).
I started watching you guys a few months back and I essentially tell everyone I know (new friends and old) to check you guys out for travel inspiration and for the opportunity to take a break in their day for a smile and a laugh! Kara your organization skills are literal goals 👏 Love you guys! So happy for your new adventure!!
I can't imagine not having a fixed bed in my van, but this is pretty nice, it makes a lot of sense for you two to do van life since you guys already traveled cnsistently, I wish you guys all the luck and happiness
I love your safe and charging station for your electronics! Your Van is pretty. My favorite is the bathroom/shower! I have a question for you both. Would you be interested in eliminating bathroom odors and food odors completely in your van? When a pretty smell is added, I fell it draws more attention by creating a new smell. We will send you a bottle of Wiff Sniff Blocker to eliminate those private moment odors. 😉
Michelle Ford wow! People have such low opinions of us Arkansans! Let me start with don’t believe everything you hear! I love my home state of Arkansas! Natural hot springs, beautiful mountains, breathtaking views, rivers full of delicious fish! So Kara & Nate I second this! Come visit one of the most beautiful places in the world! Arkansas welcomes you with open arms! Oh don’t forget we also have diamonds!!
I love how excited you got about the kettle, that was so cute lol! Love the Van, I work on a cruise ship, and with covid, obviously we stopped working, and now I wish I had a Van like this so I don't have to crash with friends and family. ENJOY YOUR NEW HOME!!
You guys just inspired me to plan my travelling for the future and your videos are helping me find destinations which shows that there are more life changing places that we dont know about. Thank you Kara and Nate. Lysm❤️.
Love it! Love how everything just has its own space and it reduces any clutter. It's so satisfying 😂 the only thing that would bother me is the bed. I would just throw the top sheet on it and not even bother with the fitted one 🤣
Roof racks can be a pain too - instead, consider a small box trailer. Something else that might be handy would be a bicycle rack attached to the rear doors, then you guys can take a pair of bikes around everywhere for getting around towns and such. Basically leave the van at the campground, and just bike into town for groceries, to nearby walks and scenic lookouts etc. Much easier to park a coupke of bicycles than a van~ 😊
When we had a motorhome with a bed we had to make up every night, we used a flat sleeping bag opened out instead of a bottom sheet. So much easier than trying to tuck in a sheet. I even cut the zipper off for more comfort. If you get a cotton one it doesn't slip.
This channel is so much fun to watch. Youth and enthusiasm make it even more fun. I learned tat the name of the Sprinter van is the wheelbase! Just thought it was a random number like the name of Ford pickups... I'm going to have fun watching this couple!
I’ve been watching you guys for 3 years and I can’t wait to see your van life and you guys traveling the US. Also maybe you could get a memory foam cushions for your couch/bed and it would be more comfortable

Awesome tour, however I probably would've kept the SAFE tour a secret. Other than that thumbs up!
I was thinking the same thing 😂
It probably wouldn't matter. What are the odds that one of their fans is going to find their van, break into it, figure out how to get into the safe, and steal some electronics? I would argue that it's probably very unlikely.
You would be surprised. Look at the trouble nomadic fanatic has with psycho viewers. Never put security past anyone. Always take your security as serious as you can especially when on a public platform.
Keeping Up With The Jones' Me too and there’s no lock to outside drawer. Yikes!
Doing that bed everyday would start to become a chore after a short while.
I’ve talked to a handful of people with the bed/desk conversion, most of the time they just leave it like a bed
Hey! Y’all are really coming along with the van life. We’re impressed at your persistence and adaptability to life changes.
I died when he threw the cushions on the ground.
Omg..I am so sorry I didn't know that you were one of the cushions

Wow! Loved your HOME tour! ❤️ You have done a wonderful job on the Van and I’m just so excited to see all your adventures continue 🥳🤗 Nate, I’m impressed with how you undertook the renovation and Kara, you add so much joy with your presence and together you make it a Home with your big bright sunshiny smile and love ☺️ Sending you a lot of love, warm wishes and hugs as your house warming gift 🎁 Happy Van Life! Stay safe! Love from across the World, Esther ☺️
For some reason when I see your wine corner I get 'First class lounge' vibes. Great work you guys!
Roof rack can be installed from outside using nutzerts or nut rivets... drill hole, nutzert is stuck in with tool and crimps to grab sheet metal... then bolt threads into... just make sure silicon or some other weather seal is used so you don't create a leak..👍
Just curious how does the van handle while driving with 320 pounds of water on one side of the van?
probably balanced by the battery bank and inverter on the other side
The tanks are mainly placed on the same height as the axels, therefore it won't interact with the handling of the van. While building a van like this you keep the most weight as low as possible, and balance the heavier components at good as you can. A slight inbalance won't be noticed while driving.
that's nothing 150 .... kg
they probably have weights balancing it out
Batteries are 70lbs to 130lbs each; If 80lbs, would balance perfectly with the 320lbs water on the other side. Clever design!
Kara, I’m going to need the list of all the stuff you bought from Amazon. Just like those “Things I bought from Amazon that just...make...sense” Tiktok videos.
Great idea!

I genuinely love that you have a home for the first time in 4 years and its the coolest van ever so you can still travel
NO AC??? You'll sing a different tune when the Summer really heats up
they can get a mini AC, but they have to put ice cubes in it and it works
Hahaha, true that but indeed they could find a solution somehow.
Wait till they get into Arizona. Its usually 90 degree + in the summer.
Don't come to Arizona without AC. You may melt in that van without it! It ranges from 90 to 115 starting early May to September, just some friendly info for ya. But I hope you do visit AZ. It really is a beautiful state. Can't wait to see all of your adventures of our wonderful country!
They need to avoid the south west and California till September if there planing on driving there without an ac
I heat my teardrop trailer with a small portable electric space heater when necessary. But heater or no heater I do recommend a CO/O2 detector. It's a very tight space you're cooking in, storing gas tanks in and possibly heating. Best to be safe!
Can't wait to follow your US adventures!
Not me two years later re-watching this Kara and Nate ❤ I have been along for the entire journey
My experience tells me some time in the near future you're going to add more solar panels on the roof. Two digital nomads who can spend a lot of time working use a lot more power than 300 watts of solar can deliver. When you're at it I highly recomend you change those lead batteries for lithium.
I’m so excited for you both! Didn’t want the video to end. I want to follow your Van life 24/7.
You also want to see them when they were doing there lovy dovy stuff?😂😂
when nate was talking about the shoe rack things he said “cleaning supplies” while touching tampons and pads 😂😭
Lol they are kitchen sponges
Kara and Nate ahh that makes sense i was like that doesn’t look like cleaning supplies to me ahahaha
I'm guessing that you'll soon conclude you need a/c in the van. Those magnetic window covers will pretty effectively block air flow at night.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, I’m really jealous of y’alls van. When ya make it up to Montana let me know would love to show y’all around.
Tgug 4real78 I’m totally jealous. This is my dream
For the heater situation, you could just get a heater from any store, and it plugs into the wall, and would heat up your van very well
5:28 I would recommend putting up a black wire screen like the ones used on porches just so you don’t see the messy pile of shoes. Or a mini curtain
I love how funny it is to see the expectation vs reality moments when you were doing adjustments to your van. I’ve never seen van tours like those 😂😂😂
I can't imagine not having a fixed bed in my van, but this is pretty nice, it makes a lot of sense for you two to do van life since you guys already traveled cnsistently, I wish you guys all the luck and happiness
You guys are finally ready for the next stage of your adventures! Love that your van is solar powered by those 3 panels!
Best traveller vlogegrs ever. They work hard to provide content even in these times
Only a Kara and nate van tour would include a whole segment on their coffee station 😂
If you guys ever came to Arkansas, I would personally take the time out of my day to show y’all around lol
“Personally take the time out of your day”? What are you, Bill Gates? Arkansas is a shithole. Nice LARP tho
There is nothing to see
Creepy...Welcome to Arkansas! Beware of locals.
Lysm❤️.
I suggest having a heater/ac unit installed.
Its a good investment for at least half the year. Summer and winter.
Love it! Love how everything just has its own space and it reduces any clutter. It's so satisfying 😂 the only thing that would bother me is the bed. I would just throw the top sheet on it and not even bother with the fitted one 🤣
Hahaha sameee or I would be too lazy and just leave the bed like that😂😂😂
Roof racks can be a pain too - instead, consider a small box trailer.
Does this mean there won’t be anymore bathroom tours? Because they have a permanent home? Low key crying 😭
When they start staying at places again
@@Lauren_Cat when the Quarantine ends
When we had a motorhome with a bed we had to make up every night, we used a flat sleeping bag opened out instead of a bottom sheet. So much easier than trying to tuck in a sheet. I even cut the zipper off for more comfort. If you get a cotton one it doesn't slip.
Loved this vlog with the cutaways to Nate's, shall we say challeging van-fixing moments...! So funny and great editing! Thanks Lovlies!
This channel is so much fun to watch. Youth and enthusiasm make it even more fun. I learned tat the name of the Sprinter van is the wheelbase! Just thought it was a random number like the name of Ford pickups... I'm going to have fun watching this couple!
I love all of your videos, but interestingly, this videos was even more entertaining! Great job!
I’ve been watching you guys for 3 years and I can’t wait to see your van life and you guys traveling the US. Also maybe you could get a memory foam cushions for your couch/bed and it would be more comfortable
I could never wrap my head around always converting the bed, I see you guys selling this rig for something much more practical kinda like Eamon & Bec's new build teehee
Yeah maybe after a yeah or to of van life
with a hydraulic operated table that you can just press down, put the cushions and sleep.
I love following you guys. My husband and I still converting our van but the real things you film are so helpful. Thank you
Looks good!
Thought: switch your kitchen drawer with bathroom drawer.
Question: where is your trash can!? Lol
Trash bin was in the shower!
May the road rise up to greet you...
