No disrespect, but suggesting ELoy is the greatest drummer in the world is a little subjective. Listen to Liquid-metal for an hour and you'll hear 20 drummers who could have easily filled the spot. Slipknot was looking to pay as little as possible for a new member. Sepultura was on their last leg and Eloy was desperate to keep his legacy alive. It was a match made in heaven for Slipknot. I guarantee Eloy is considered a "contracted" employee and will be treated as such. Just like Jay, Craig, and Chris.
Eloy has been an award winning drummer since he was a kid. I would suggest watching the drumming he did when he won the international drumming contest when he was like 13. He’s been a very technically skilled drummer who’s played music beyond metal for pretty much his whole life. His drumming, in my opinion, is what gave sepultura a second wind to continue on. Plus the records he did with them were some of their best. He is definitely not some small run of the mill drummer who’s cheap for hire. He’s the guy you call when you need someone of high skill and ability to give you consistency and power. There are always skilled drummers but few who’ve had a career like his.

Yes, it makes complete sense that a band that has a multimillion dollar net worth would be “looking to pay as little as possible” for a new drummer?
