That is such a cool old barn that the heifers are in. I hope Brent can keep up with any repairs on it and save it for years to come. They don't make them like that anymore. I just love the fact you folks still milk old school and still use the older equipment . KEEP ON FARMING!!!
Great video Taylor and Brent. It makes my day to watch them. You are a really hard worker with great work ethics, absolutely not typical of todays young folks. I admire you and your support for the farm and Brent. I think you will go far in life and appreciate you sharing your work. Thank you for taking all of us along.......................
Mornin Taylor. Loved this video. Glad your cows are doing better. When I was on the farm we had a detached Milk House. It held 6 cans overnight. In the morning, we would pull them out of the chiller. Basically, a tank that held water that was cooled to around 35 to 40 degrees. Most times we had 4 or 5 cans of milk in the chiller and 4 to 5 cans of milk from morning milking. So about 10 cans in all. We would take it down to the creamery by ourselves. They would test the milk right then. If there was anything wrong, they would reject it and send to back to us. Loved farming, a good life. Say hello to Brent and God Bless.
Thanks for the video, Taylor. Lots to do on a farm. Keeps several people busy for sure. Having Brent nearby when you are in the tank is probably a really good idea - you need backup when you are in a confined space like that! Take care and stay warm! 😀
I thought we'd be out of the cold weather by now, but looking at the forecast, we're going to hit below zero a couple of nights this week and next. The Wind has been a beast this year!
Taylor, about your hardware cow. You should go ahead and give her a second magnet. We used to have good results with that. Not that the first one is no good, but we always felt that maybe it’s not lying in the correct position to grab that nail. Dropping in another gives you a second chance of it getting to the current hardware problem.
😊 i mentioned this awhile back about getting in there an scrubbing the back of the tank. We always had to once in awhile ❤ stuff always seemed to gather there. Happy farming
I did enjoy today's video. Dairy farmers I see are close to their cows. Every day and twice a day you are with them in very intimate ways milking them and concerned for their well being.
I love your videos of conventional barn tie stalls living in North Carolina the last 30 years everything is milking parlors and free stalls I really love the northern barns
I remember keeping the bulk tank clean. It definitely wasn't the worst job on the farm. You do a really great job of keeping things clean and the milk house. It's not that easy.
Tay, don't get into milk tank when beaters are running! We don't need any Tay soup! You continue to be a marvel, your endurance & positive outlook! We all love ya Tay!❤😅
A nice video full of hard work, such varied chores. I hadn’t realized there was a basement or lower level in barn. I knew my wife’s grandparents farm , the barn had two levels, a big earth ramp to the upper level. Thank you Taylor and Brett. 🙋♂️🐈🐈
Another great video, sweetie😊 milking in a stantion or tie stall is so much nicer in winter. It’s nice seeing the cute little calves that are coming. Good thing you’re a fit little woman to get in and out of that tank lol today was only the second day this month. It got above freezing and finally we had a morning that was not below zero and it wasn’t even in the single digit for a change. It was 12 above. Stay warm and safe up there. 🤗
😁Hey Tay 🥰 Good to hear that Manget cow is doing better. A tank wash is a saturday night bath . You feel more better after doing it. great video 💗Thanks
good morning Taylor I'm sure everyone watching your videos including me really appreciate you and brent hard work at the farm I'm glad the cow condition is getting better I hope she pulls thru and just wondering how many gallons of milk the tank holds take care.
I just love that old barn the heifers are in!! It brings back a lot of great memories for me. Ya'll seem to be having a lot of bull calves lately. I hope everyone in your family is doing well and prayers for y'all always young lady 🙏🙏🙏. Everyone in Northeast Arkansas says hey Taylor especially Miriam 🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️👍🙏🚜🚜🐄🐄
Winter sure makes everything harder and take longer. It was good to see the heifers again. Been a while since we've been there. Happy to hear every one is doing well, especially the Ace Brand one. (Hardware) Sorry we missed the sawdust run. But seeing you suffering through it wouldn't be much fun! Thanks for the post. Makes for a better day with an episode from Tay!!
Always a fun and informative video Taylor! I enjoy the tank cleaning but summer time cleaning I’d say is a little better for you….cold this time of year to clean it! I liked the warm clean job last year and barefooted…just seems cleaner lol Hope you guys have a great week!
Great video Taylor Great to see the new calves , an the great knowledge and experience you have in recognition of breeds , you are a very hard working woman , you are going to be a great dairy farm owner one day you have great work ethics Keep up the hard work, keep farming
@TayFarms Taylor, How many days worth of milk can that stainless steel tank hold? Say there was a major problem at the milk place and they couldn't do a milk pickup for awhile, how long would it take for that tank to be full? Thanks for another great video! Stay Safe Stay Farming and please Stay WARM!!
Hi Taylor, well this was a first for me I watched your video in the tractor when I was burning brush, that’s one thing we do in the winter especially if we get a couple inches of snow, thanks for another great video
I'm thinking a squirt bottle might be more effective in dispersing the soap onto the tank walls and give better coverage. Also, when scrubing the tank walls, a battery-operated rotating 8" scrub brush might do a better job of cleaning and maybe do it in less time. Maybe. I also think it might be a good idea to buy a pair of cheap sneakers to be used just for cleaning out the tank.
Another great video .I forgot about cleaning the bulk tank out .I helped out on a local dairy years ago it was the best job i ever had i loved it .Being an AG tech i loved the equipment repair and crop work but the milking and the cow health part was so fascinating to me, i miss that job !
Thanks for the video. I am a more recent subscriber. Started watching last summer, but have gone back and watched several older videos. As I’m sure you are aware, after reading these comments, everyone has an opinion. You keep doing what works for you and makes you happy. I do totally respect your age and responsibility scale. Brent is lucky to have such a dedicated young and strong, smart young lady to help him on the farm. Question, you have mentioned a few of these cows are your cows? How does that work?
Great channel. Please consider a lock out tag out system for the controls on the tank before you get in that confined space. These systems have saved many maintenance personnels lives in factories!
My last job sometimes involved crawling through a rotary sterilizer with a smaller opening than the one you just went through. It was very crowded with a revolving cage like reel that caused cans of product to go around and also proceed forward as the product was sterilized. Sometimes a can would come out dented and then we had to go in and find out what was causing the dented cans. What was worse was when a can got crushed and spilled milk all over and locked up the reel and we had to go in and free up everything with milky product dripping on us. This didn't happen very often but it always seemed to happen on my shift. The vessels were anywhere from 30-60 feet in length and very warm and wet. Not a pleasant job and it would take several hours to correct the problem. At least we didn't have to scrub them clean, we just ran hot water and steam through them after we were done. What a novel, Huh Also, our milk tanks had spray balls inside the were full of holes and the cleaning chemicals were sprayed in them every time they were emptied, usually once a day, jack
Happy to hear that the cow with the hardware issue is doing better! Y'all got some handsome calves!! Whether it's home or business, there is always something to clean! During my career in the nuclear utility industry, I've spent my fair share of time in confined spaces. Even with all the safety protocols, and trust me there were layers upon layers of 'safety measures', I was never really at ease. Stay safe and warm!
Hi Taylor. Got my coffee and pop tarts ready for another great day at the farm. Have you tapped any of your maple trees this year. Did you ever get your one tractor together on your farm. How is your white Ford doing. Any new parts on it.
Without? Brent is the king of rock paper scissors game as your the 1 in the tank in middle of the winter. That's a hot summer shorts cleaning job. Excellent job on this video kiddo as I always wondered how it got cleaned
Hi Taylor thanks for another great video. Glad the cow 🐄 is on the mend, Neil's little calf is so cute can't wait for some heifers from him. And then the tank swallowed her up come back Taylor 😅. Awesome job cleaning the tank out not everyone would go in .Thanks very much for sharing another video take care and be safe 👍 😊.
When are you going to show the milk truck picking up milk? I know you’ve been wanting to do it for a long time. I love watching your channel. I was a dairy farmer down here in Florida most of my young life until we went out of business so I can relate to everything you’re doing, keep strong young lady
If you can't find a Holstein Bull would you guys consider AI to keep the line going? I remember my Dad would get hardware magnets from the dairies. He was a truck driver that picked up the bulk milk to go to the creamery. We always had the magnets around to use when we worked on cars to find lost nuts, bolts and washers that we dropped. I would ride along and get to eat the ice milk on the tanks before they were agitated for a sample.
Hi Taylor and Brent also girls just finished watching video it’s Absolutely beautiful no worries I love you Chatting away and as always you all be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Just watching & hubby is wondering what the benefit is of flushing out the vacuum line? It's not something we've heard of here in Oz. Have a great day Jane and Mick
Rare to see a Zero tank nowadays. Parts are about impossible to find. They never washed the greatest…much better than a Girton. Everything had to be perfect to wash well. Only tank made that washed by running agitators in reverse. Nice dairy farm. Very clean.
24 years so glad you take good care of them very well. What is your price for your milk? Per 100 pounds?. Happy about hardware cow, anytime they calf hardware moves when they push calf out. Have good day Taylor, get some rest also. Thanks
Hello Taylor, thanks for your "chatting"...great video...this is obviously one time (cleaning the tank) that it pays being shorter...take care...Lonnie from Michigan
Taylor, I'm glad you are not claustrophobic! I unfortunately am extremely claustrophobic. I am glad you mentioned and showed the process. I would never have known that would be part of the cleaning process. How often does that need to be done?
We have a bull... My dad will call brent in the morning 😜 I've been hoping he had a place to go we don't need him. I thought "Bubble gum" might give you some problems but hopefully she straightens out quickly
Please be careful working in enclosed spaces like a milk tank. I worked industrial maintenance for a good portion of my life and have known people who suffered illness and even death from exposer to cleaning chemicals in tanks and other enclosed spaces. sometimes two otherwise harmless chemicals do not react to each other well and can rod you of breathable air in a space like a tank. Love your videos and look for to your chatter as you talk about the farm.
RENAME that cow" LUCKY"! A 24-year-old cow should have gone through menopause years ago! I have been around cows and dairy for 63 years and can't imagine a 24-year-old cow having much left for teeth. You must have bard dances (drum and drum set upstairs in the barn)? Ahhh yes! Ido REMEMBER the smell of the inside of the milk cooler tank!
Hey great video! what breeds do you guys have in the cross breeds? and you should check out Norwegian Red, its a very good multi purpose breed and often times very friendly and fertile and produce good quality milk, and goes really good for cross breeding with holsteins or Swiss Fleckvieh
That is such a cool old barn that the heifers are in. I hope Brent can keep up with any repairs on it and save it for years to come. They don't make them like that anymore. I just love the fact you folks still milk old school and still use the older equipment . KEEP ON FARMING!!!

It helps me to watch all the mishaps and breakdowns you experience, i don't feel alone when they happen on our farm!
Hope your older cow does well for you. Hope you and Brent and families stay safe and healthy.
Thank you, Taylor. Have a great Sunday. See you on Thursday.
See you then, thanks for being here!
Thanks for the video, Taylor. Lots to do on a farm. Keeps several people busy for sure. Having Brent nearby when you are in the tank is probably a really good idea - you need backup when you are in a confined space like that! Take care and stay warm! 😀
Hard work at its finest! Thanks to you two and all the farmers that work as hard as you do!
I appreciate the art of conversation between you and Brent, as well with us as an invisible audience. Thank you.
Thanks. Taylor. your videos show the real life on a dairy farm take care and you and Brent stay warm
You are a top notch worker. Awsome to watch your ethics

Great video kid !!! brett is so lucky to have you.
Thank you, I appreciate that! 😊
Thanks for a great video.Always lots of work to do on the farm.
Hope you can take over this farm someday.
great video, always a great way to start out the week watching what you and Brent are doing!!!!!!
It's like Taylor popping out of the birthday cake in that tank! 🎉🎉🎉 lol
Taylor you are such a hard worker.love watching your adventures.❤

I like tie stall barns but my knees and back don't. 😂 Could you possibly AI the old Holstein ?
Great video! Hopefully your luck changes and you start getting some heifer calves that are Neal’s.
😁Hey Tay 🥰 Good to hear that Manget cow is doing better. A tank wash is a saturday night bath . You feel more better after doing it. great video 💗Thanks
I remember my old days milking about 45 years ago. I loved it and still do. Good job

it looks like their is a set of drums in the upstairs of the one barn, were those Brent's in his wilder years?😅
Yes and still plays some time 😂
In the fifties when I worked on our dairy farm we had to steam with soda crystals all our equipment in a steamer with a sealed door daily.
Who plays the drums that were in the heifer barn?
I prefer to milk cows in a tie stall barn too! 😊
New to the channel. I love this channel. I farm beef in Kentucky. People dont give us enough credit. Keep it up and God bless you! you!
How often do you clean the tank?
Hi Taylor thanks for another great video. Glad the cow 🐄 is on the mend, Neil's little calf is so cute can't wait for some heifers from him. And then the tank swallowed her up come back Taylor 😅. Awesome job cleaning the tank out not everyone would go in .Thanks very much for sharing another video take care and be safe 👍 😊.
Taylor if you stand your cleaning brush on the handle end the bristles will be happy!!
Taylor, even if they have had a magnet give them another, there cheep, and it won’t hurt any thing, keep up the great work
Good morning Taylor and Brent

You need a magnetic light for the inside of the tank.
More light every where would be cool😊

Hi Taylor, just to remind you that Spring begins on March 20th! Great video!
When do we get a drum solo?
Taylor, I'm glad you are not claustrophobic! I unfortunately am extremely claustrophobic. I am glad you mentioned and showed the process. I would never have known that would be part of the cleaning process. How often does that need to be done?

great job
On going turn around from margarine back to butter.

Taylor, how often do they come get the milk?
Tough going when it gets that cold.
I wonder how old is your milktank? We had in NL exactly the same one in 1982 and it was already years old 😊
Great job 👍😊
what is the source of your water ? municipal...well or ?

We paint it every 5-8 years, no one in our area offers white washes anymore
