Yo Mob, I'm finally getting close to a full standard collection on Arena (As extensive as it currently is); So I can build most decks that I come across. (Save the cursed' rare dual-lands, that seem to be endless in their quantity and virtually non-existence in the packs I've cracked.) Anyways, I've been doing so-so in ranked right now and thus: I am willing to experiment. For anyone curious or newer players reading this, especially: -- This deck is certainly worth crafting. Not only for it's initial value on the ladder and it's usability -- But also, for the collection, as a lot of these cards are going to be helpful in other builds as well. Mono black is really good currently, and esper has been quite decent, from what I've gathered. At least since when I started back into the game (start of New Capenna) Just a head's up, if anyone was curious about if they wanna leap in and craft this one. It's got some good value. Great Mentions: Void Rend, Wandering Waifu, Liliana, Vraska, Tefari (Pilgrim-mode), Farewell n' Sunfall - These are all essential for anyone interested in playing serious-level ladder on Arena, in my honest opinion. Just due to their versatility and recurrences in a lot of the current meta's lineup. It's those damn rares, that get us in the end.
I never post, but the pure frustration of this game is at max. Just played this deck, went 4-1, then next 5 games goes 1-4. It has nothing to due with this deck, it is a great fun build, this game as best I can tell, outside of mid-to high methyl play is just a lottery. Nothing more than a glorified mobile app game constructed to hit near 50/50 on everything to keep people buying packs and such each quarter. I have kept a log of EVERY game played this season. It is up to 635 games. Going first rate is 48.6 percent, and guess what the rate (as I sit at the bottom of Diamond 4) is: 48.6%. The games are either blow out losses(most common), hard fought wins, hard fought losses, & blow out wins (least common). The game algorithms decides much of the games before they even start (as realized by most people). The only thing keeping me remotely interested are content creators like my guy Swayze here, and a few others. WOTC better wake up and see the pure value these creators are doing for the game, because arena is doing nothing to help itself!
Against the red deck i was thinking the whole time before you used sunfall "if i was him i'd go face, you're facing something that resembles a control deck with white, fucking go face, if you leave him at 3-4 life you can easily kill him with a couple easy topdecks" then i see the guy had a lightning striker which would have given him the win and i'm mad now xD
At 20:45, you could Vraska + proliferate and -2 emperor to kill the Phyrexian. YOu'd have a Vraska with more loyalty and a extra card (-1 life). Actually, not really sure if more loyalty because that would be 5 mana Vraska. GG though, great games Swayze, keep it up. Are we gonna see more Early Access participations?
Wow so I’m playing this similar deck but I only have two Wandering Emperors. As you said your hand looks good you’re just missing land, I also have two of her in hand and need lands 🤣🤦♂️
Drop sunfall for path of peril and you wont worry about aggro decks ever... I run a very similar build but it uses 2 copies of ichormoon gauntlet... crushes ladder
@thelordsephiroth777 Just played my first commander match with some friends the other week - not a good collection; so I build an izzet jank deck. Threw some counterspells in for fun...completely forgot to either leave mana open for them or use them most times, haha. It is a totally different play style, for sure. It is a bit compelling though, to think of MTG from the control side. So, I've made some control-oriented decks rather recently for the first time on Arena, and it was fun. I started on Arena with mono-red, and honestly, that's more putrid of a sight to me now, than any mono-blue deck could ever be. Anvils and foundries, swiftspears and chicks...Haven't seen a djinn or tolarian terror in weeks! Kinda miss the bastards...
It's why I am getting really into Esper builds, more than any other tri-color allegiance. There is the allure of some of blue's mechanics that I could just never deny, but also just couldn't bring myself to playing mono-blue (even blue + other color, is a bit much) But Esper, is like the perfect combo for what I've wanted to do. It can enable decks that are multi-capability quite a lot more easily than anything else I've personally built. You can get white's wipes, removal, as well as blacks and then excellent card advantage on top of that with the splash of blue cards. Being able to switch from control to aggressor on the fly is just something I've always wanted to do and Esper colors work great for that.
@@billybob01234567 well you must have not played it with gin gitaxis progress tyrant my guy, very easy to double, quad, or even octate..? Off a single instant or sorcery spell, but can't be giving all the secrets X)

nice video, thank you! in 27:29 you had a, albeit small, chance by cycling the Raffine's tower and hoping for a cut down

Congratulations on 16k! ✌️
Countryfried sees and knows all!
What. A. Comeback.

Honestly for Teferi, my favorite late game spell is Cosmic Epiphany. It can be a 6+ to him in one shot easy.
I run an Esper Tokens deck and I run 27 lands and it still feels like I miss lands constantly. Especially if it's mono red.
nice call, getting rid of memory delugue for scrutiny

How about running historic for rank

Leave those filthy control decks for CGB to play
Cringe
I love Void Rend. Too bad I refuse to contaminate my decks by putting blue in them

Where do you find the meta deck list?
booo
Ichamoor gauntlet, is an artifact that adds 0:proliferate and -12:take extra turn, to any plaineswalker.. does wonders
Too slow. Game usually decided by the time it becomes effective

@@KingTheLines sounds like a jank deck that comes off every now and again my guy
