Keep behaving like a 12 year old with no coping skills Hurley. You're a great coach but this behavior just hurts your brand, recruiting, and good luck with the Referee Fraternity blackballing. Those guys are petty and don't forget. We saw it with Calipari after the Higgins incidents in 2015 & 2017. Didnt get a single whistle the last 6 years and won 6 total NCAAT games as result and had to tuck tail to the ozarks. And demanding a friendly whistle because you're a two time NCAAT winner shows he's lost the plot! That's the opposite of how it is supposed to work. We get it your dad didn't hug you enough when you were a kid! Get over it, you've won life and still not remotely happy.
You got a winner in Pope! Good luck this season, I'll be rooting for the Cats unless we play you. Hurley is all good in my book, if this was in the Tourney I would have a problem with it but the officiating in this game was a joke and he sends a message: it's going to be a story if they put refs that bad on his games, it won't happen late in the season.
I was embarrassed for Danny Hurley’s ridiculously smug & sanctimonious attitude. I just expected better from him. And his attempt to explain his behavior in the press conference was some of the worst gaslighting I’ve ever heard. His game was WEAK…and transparent. Hey Coach, two National Championships doesn’t buy you maturity.
I cant imagine his behavior gaining him any favors with the officials. I am glad he didnt want to go to kentucky, and i feel like he knew we wouldnt put up with that bullshit.
Big UConn fan for 50years, have seen all of the best coaches here in Ct, Rowe, Perno, Calhoun, Ollie and now Hurley. Dan loves to coach the kids, give them what he thinks he missed and make them feel welcome. Well that’s great, but falling on the floor like a two year old boy and having a tantrum was not a good look for a college coach. There’s a line that he crossed and his issues need to be reigned in. That was a big mistake and he needs to calm things down. You can argue and disagree all you want but falling on the floor is not the example you want to see from your head coach, period!!!!!!!!!
1st off, Kevin Ollie is not a great coach. That's all I got. The rest is spot on. Nothing wrong with being rough around the edges, but Hurley went a bit overboard.
Having just gotten curb-stomped by Dayton to lose a third game in a row in Maui, UConn has far more important matters to deal with right now than Hurley's cry baby antics. He's got a LOT to fix with his team.
First off I am a UK fan. I have to check my thoughts to make sure it's not a bias towards being frustrated/jealous of Hurley's success but instead looking objectively at what I have seen. A lot of successful big major programs would not want Hurley as their coach for a number of reasons: Being a great coach is more than winning. A great coach is a role model. Have you seen the way his players whine and complain about every call in Maui, like they are owed because they are UConn. They are acting the same way their coach is. When things don't go your way, you turn the other cheek and keep working. I would not want my son to be coached that if we don't get what we want, we whine/complain about it. A great coach keeps his composure at the end of games and focuses on their team, not the ref. He hasn't been in a ton of close games the last few years, but I'd bet they lose a chunk because of his diva antics and loss of focus. In life when stress hits, I would want my sone to learn to compose himself and focus, not lose it. A great coach is professional and respects the game. That includes respecting the referees and opposing team. To berate the officials and call out opposing players is disgraceful and embarrassing to him and the university. If my son were to be coached this way, I would immediately pull him because treating others with respect is of more value than winning. Call it like it is. Just because he is a northeastern Jersey guy doesn't give him the right to act like he has. Just because you have won back-to-back titles doesn't give you preferential treatment in games. I am ok with a coach being confident (in your team and you preparation) but not cockiness (thinking you are better than everyone else). He exudes cockiness and that is a personality trait that is a chemistry killer. I think if he continues to lose, he will start to lose recruits. Who would want to play for a guy like that if he isn't winning? I may have been in the minority but I did not want him to come to UK for the reasons above. I could not watch games with him on the sidelines, even if they were winning. Glad we got Pope as they are polar opposites.
As a Duke fan, don’t you dare tell me we would take Dan over John. Fine if you want to accept his embarrassing behavior but don’t assume every fan base would abandon their integrity to win at all cost.
Just a crack in the armor. He will adjust. Anytime someone has great success there is a fall back to some degree. He will be fine when he gets things under control. If i were a Uconn fan i wouldn't be concerned.
Hurley always teaches his players to foul on rebounds. In the IU game last season they got away with that tactic about 15 to 18 times and he cries like a baby every time his guys get a foul called. He is a joke on the sideline, absolutely out of control trying to intimidate the stripped shirts. Truth told all the Eastern logo team get away with more pushing and shoving than the midwestern team; the Republican fly over states. East and West coast disdains Republicans and it shows in all college refereeing.
Well, it was YOUR Huskies who were hacking the Memphis players…and not getting called. So, let your coach whine and moan…and act like an entitled idiot, but Penny Hardaway was the coach who should’ve been raising hell with the red (but, kept it classy). Congrats to Memphis for being a classier act…and the winners of that game.

The guy is a total jerk. He can get away with his behavior as long as they win. The minute they start losing, it will be an issue. *SEE BOB KNIGHT.

Same things he did last year, the difference, EXPOSURE, more cameras and mics
His teams were better last 2 years he can't be doing what he's doing this year
Hurley ... Massive EGO
Its ALL about him ... Look at me
I'm Dan Hurley ...
If he can act a fool then why shouldn't his players get to act the same
Kentucky dodged a bullet by not getting Hurley. Dude is morphing into Bobby Knight 2.0.
As a Kentucky fan, why wouldn't he have worked at UK? I'm just curious...
I waited for Aaron to explain why, but he didn't.
@ngarcia103 Would have been a clash of cultures. Hurley works in the Northeast. Not in the South.
He looks like an actual 2 year old on the court when he's melting down. It's embarrassing for the players.
UK Fan, I'll keep Coach Pope. However during the coach hunt before Pope arrived...he was on my list of five.
You got a winner in Pope!
Good luck this season, I'll be rooting for the Cats unless we play you.

@@SanctuaryGardenLiving Spot on!

He is crazy and huge fragile ego
Cry, cry, CRY! Not a fan of anyone that feels that entitled.
I cant imagine his behavior gaining him any favors with the officials. I am glad he didnt want to go to kentucky, and i feel like he knew we wouldnt put up with that bullshit.
Hurley is Bobby Knight reincarnated 🤷🏽

I’m glade that Kentucky didn’t get him he seems like a child on the court
Hey it's not my fault that liberals and Yukon fans go together
Well so glad we don't understand. And believe me when I say I'm glad he stayed at uconn
Make it 3 in a row they just got smoked by Dayton 😂
Wait... as a UK fan, why wouldn't he have worked at UK?
I'm very happy with where we are now with Pope, but Aaron saying that has made me curious...
As a Duke fan, don’t you dare tell me we would take Dan over John. Fine if you want to accept his embarrassing behavior but don’t assume every fan base would abandon their integrity to win at all cost.
Are they, NO, this team needs to learn to play like a team!
There is no coloration whatsoever between yelling at refs and being a great coach. Coach K got way with crap too.....

Homer, It's what he was saying
Not liking to get pushed around isn’t exclusive to people from Connecticut…
Slow the roll.........but they were fools ...........pick your spot when you are bit hung at refs...........I know lost a job because of it!!!!!
Love Coach Hurley.
100% support Coach Hurley.
Zero complaints.
