As a dad of a couple young kids, with lollies we always tell them to take 1 or 2 if they are offered when they trick or treat. I noticed most parents do the same. That's how kids learn manners. Unfortunately some kids parents don't have the manners to teach their kids or the kids just get too excited like the yellow shirt girl and then just little assholes like the boy who tried to kick the car. Guaranteed that little kicker has dickhead parents.

There’s a difference between stealing and taking. Stealing is when you take a fistful of candy and laugh like you shot someone’s pup. Taking only a few and saying thanks is good.
