    Probably the best review of this iconic motorcycle! I own a hypermotard 950 and would love this as my 2nd bike, having ridden the 821 I know this will put a smile on my face

      For me it's the other way around, have the EVO and would like to have a 939 SP or 950 RVE ;) Guess the Hyper is way more like a bicycle.

    Side mounted Termigoni's are what's required on the Evo ;-)

    Loved my 2011 Monster 696 ABS. However, the dual underseat exhaust COOKED your butt and legs in the summer. I could only imagine the heat this 1100 would pump out if it ran underseat.

    First of all, great video, i really enjoyed it. But i do have a question. Im a beginning rider and im looking for a first bike. Would you recommend this one or its little brother the 796?

      @NothingToProve  5 років тому +5

      Hi Driss, I would recommend the smaller one for a beginner, 796, smaller is always better when learning riding techniques.

    I'm sitting here in January -21 and just can't stop thinking of the 1100! I have a -19 Honda CB650R in the garage....but there's something magical....magnetic about this one! Would I be a fool to change? Help!

    • @NothingToProve

      nope, not a fool, just a guy following his heart. :) You might increase your maintenance costs a little but other than that, you'll love it!

      @@NothingToProve Now it's May and I'm here again! Bloody he... I'm riding about 20 000km/year, only for the pleasure, no commuting, should I go for the 821 instead?
      Anyroad, have to have a go on one of these babies. Not so many for sale though. Only 4 here in DK. Thanks again for the film!

    Hallo Scott, in welcher Gegend bist Du unterwegs?
    Wie heißt der Klosterhof?
    Ich möchte mir ein Motorrad kaufen und bin hin- und hergerissen zwischen der Honda CB1000R und der Aprilia Shiver 900. Hast Du einen Tip für mich. Vielen Dank für Deine schönen Videos zu den Bikes!

    • @NothingToProve

      Hello,
      That monastery is in Böddeken.
      CB1000R or Shiver. Hmm...I like the looks of both bikes but that is where the similarities end, especially with the engine, V-Twin vs. in-line 4. If you want an in-line 4 then Honda, if you want a unique V-Twin then Shiver. I think I'd take the Shiver simply because I've had my fill of in-line 4's over the years and the sound is great for a 900cc motor and it's cheaper than the Honda by about 3k.
      Ride safe,
      Scott

    What's your take on the shaking below 3k revs? I'm thinking of getting one of these, but a bit worried it's unusable down low.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  5 років тому

      Hi Benjamin, totally acceptable, not a problem at all. If I were looking for an older air cooled monster, then this would be one of the first bikes I'd be looking at. This is why I did a video on it. I really like this bike. The look, the feel, the linear power delivery, the electronics package for 2011 is really ahead of it's time.

      @@benjamincs1 I chose the 2013 M1100 EVO over the 2018 M821 and i'm pretty happy with my choise. The below 3k rpms are no issue to me. I'm used to my old M900 to smoothen out with the clutch. And the clutch of the M1100 EVO is so light. It's no problem, really.

      @@lidiawilliams4837 Haha still don't know. Riding round on my V Strom 1000 dreaming of something lighter. The Evo has more torque, but seems like more hassle than then 821 (shorter service intervals, I think).

    Good review, do you know if i can throttle it down to 35kw

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  3 роки тому

      I doubt it because the power is way more than half that. It would be cheaper to get an A2 bike then when you get the full license then buy one of these :)

      👍👍 YES, do it. If I were looking for an older/classic air cooled Monster, this would be my #1 choice. That is why I did a review of it 😁 The classic look alone made me almost buy this bike after I rode it.
