- Before and after video featuring my Vintage Chanel Jumbo Vertical Flap. I sent this 1990s bag to Leather Surgeons for a full refurbishment and re-gilding. I shipped it off in December and it arrived back in March.

Nouvelle Apparel Scarves are made in Nepal from 70% Cashmere and 30% Silk for a buttery soft, warm and lightweight feel.
Each Scarf is finished with modern detailing, such as a small removable label, and soft short eyelash fringe.
The design is oversized to allow it to be worn as a scarf or shawl, and measures 200 x 90 cm or 70" x 35".

So, what do you suggest I do right now? Did she complain to you ? Should I apologize to you ? I don’t get your point for saying that. Wanting to cause drama where’s it’s uncalled for? I obviously addressed her by her first name. I have seen and read all your negative comments on her previous post.
You seem like a trouble maker to me. That’s what I have observed. What do you suggest I do now since you made that observation ? I made a point not to reply to my comment after I made one. But you seem to bother me in your reply.
I’m a career woman and if another lovely lady calls me babe I will take it as a compliment!
Marlene S Sure - but I want Evelyn (and you) to know that it’s totally fine for most career women who are confident and secure in themselves (like Elle is and like Evelyn is as well). That is all.
Why can’t we just have love peace and joy here on earth? I mean we if you don’t have something nice to say just keep your mouth shut. I thought we all learn that from grade school?

It's stunning and for the amount you paid the result is fantastic. It's a beautiful bag and in my opinion very much worth the work done on it. They did a very good job. I hope you are doing ok. that was good information. I had not heard of a leather surgeon before but makes perfect sense. They did a great job and your bag is gorgeous. I love the gold. The size of it is perfect so I can understand why its your most loved. It's a good feeling when you have good service. XX hang in there, I've thought of you all weekend. I was cleaning my guest room "really my dressing room" and each time I see your special written postcard you sent with my first set of pearls I have it with my special notes on a board. I just bought the same one but in the black lamb and maroon interior! I'll be sending it off to Leather Surgeons next week. Whoever owned it previously never had it conditioned so there are some "dry" areas. Glad I found your review!

This handbag is very beautiful and elegant and it deserves this even if the entire process is expensive
Elle, I fully agree with the sentiment of keeping one's belongings in good care to ensure a long life of use and enjoyment. I've had the same house slippers for 20 years now, I just keep taking them in every couple of years for minor repairs. In fact, they're due again, thanks for the reminder. : )

I love this video! It's great to encourage people to buy quality and then invest into fixing their items, I think that's the best way to go about things. I like heirloom pieces, and I think that finding a person who is skilled in their craft who can maintain your items is the biggest part of the challenge. My parents bought Rolex and Tudor watches, before they were so outrageously priced, as heirloom pieces to give to us children. We have a gentleman who has been caring for them that we have to ship them to, but you just don't know who you're dealing with when you're entrusting them with an item that may have monetary value of consequence, but mostly sentimental value. We had another gentleman ruin a watch that was a gift from my grandfather to my father, who lost his dad very young, so to have the watch no longer able to work was very sad :( It wasn't even an expensive watch, just one of those sentimental pieces.
mademoisellesss my husband’s grandfather was a tailor. He used to tell us that a lot of people would invest a lot of money in a really expensive suit and then they would have it repaired. These were quite wealthy people that had the money to buy plenty of suits but would rather have a few of very good quality ones. Talking about your handbag, they’ve done an amazing job and it looks like new now.

I appreciate the comment that you made about it "losing a bit of character"....I sent a a chanel bag (Circa 1996) to leather surgeons...I feel they did a GREAT job, however I'm not feeling that character anymore...Your bag is beautiful!

Beautiful refurbishment! I actually have this bag as well (I was inspired to find one after I watched a vid of you "unboxing" yours). I now have a loose screw and am nervous to wear my bag until I have it repaired. Guess it's off to The Leather Surgeons!
