One of the benefits of the lockdown is that where I live none of the banks, verges or greens are being mown down by the council. On just a short walk to the shops I can easily identify dozens of wild edibles and incredibly, just twenty yards from my front door a huge bed of three cornered leeks that I've never noticed before because it's never been left to flower. Thanks for the videos Marlow and I will definitely be ordering your book!
Loved this, as with your previous vids, thankyou. A massive thankyou to camera woman Rachael and wow....your baby was very quiet! All the very best to you all. Peace and light.
Hey Marlow been binge watching all your videos since lockdown and feel so much more confident with IDing certain plants and mushrooms now! Keep up the great videos and hope you and the family are staying safe and healthy during all this madness.
Wonderful, thanks for making these fab videos when there's SO much else going on for you..hats off to you both!! Seeing your salad makes me feel more normal...I always fold and roll a few stinging nettles into my salad too...bom appetite!!
Very nice to walk with you foraging plants. I have been trying to learn more about edible plants lately. Thanks for sharing the great variety you have there. 👍👍
These have a great website, recently purchased the book on foraging which had got damaged in the post, they sent a new copy the following day without any hassle what so ever! And as for the book itself it looks great, identifys plants etc along with caution while picking, and what u can do with the item itself i.e cooking etc. Good stuff 👍
Really enjoying these videos as always very easy to watch and very informative. Keep up the good work 👍🏻 I’ve just bought your book very much looking forward to reading it. 😊 stay safe.
I've been enjoying these posts so much. I've also been amused at some of the subtitles in these posts, I don't know if you've seen them, some of the voice interpretations are quite funny. Keep up your posts. Love them.
Such a good video, Marlow. I am loving them all so much. I got your foraging book recently & it's beautifully laid out & packed with information. I know my mushrooms pretty well but you've taught me so much about plants. Great camera work Rachel & little bub! Thank you :)
This is phenomenal content. However, it could do with a little production value. But the info you give is fantastic. I've just ordered the book and I can't wait to receive it. Keep up the good work!
Iv tried flowering currant berries. Bland is the best I can describe them as. I have been told that the flowers make a better cordial than the berries though and are reputed to be closer in flavour to a blackcurrant cordial than the berries could ever get you
I'm thinking about using Spanish bluebell for glue... Apparently used in bookbinding! The English one anyway... Bigger bulbs more glue... Any glue recipes! Is there a way to keep it stable in a tin or jar or maybe plastic washing up liquid bottles?
Apparently it is possible to do this, Marlow. Here's 3 short videos on how the wild bread-making process works: ua-cam.com/video/N5O3elIbGxc/v-deo.html
@@seachangeau We asked all the neighbours who owned it, and they said it had been in the area for years but was totally feral, so we took pity on it the first winter and managed to befriend it as it was extremely timid. We think it is spayed as we've been here 3 years and it's never bred or bled. We do feed it daily too so it's sort of our cat now, but it got a wren the other day hence my comment in the video :(
Hi Marlow love your videos, would like to go on one of your courses. Could you do a video on identifying chamomile? I didn't see anything on your website. Thanks 😊
Another great video. Chickweed (stellaria media) never grows that tall here. Is it because of the building sheltering it or just it trying to compete with the other verge plants?
Only just found these videos in Lockdown V2.0 I'd love to purchase a book from you, do you do a version without fungus in i.e. just wild edible plants and trees? Only ask I I'm not sure if I trust myself to start researching edible fungus!!! For me I like to see fungus as a symbiotic partner to my vegetables thus not for my direct consumption. Hope to hear back some time soon. I think from what I have read in the reviews that there is a sizeable chunk of fungus related in the book and I am guessing a version without it would be even more pocket friendly????
Where cats have been controlled, rats and rodents are a huge problem. There are areas in Seattle where rats are prolific because of this bad thinking. They even call an area “rat city”. You should be thanking the cat, paying tribute to this grand creature that keeps rodent populations in balance. People might say similar things about you and foraging, that they wish you wouldn’t pick things from nature, leave it pristine with no consumption. But you should pick & the cat should hunt. Think it through my friend.
Thanks teacher ❤🙏

Excellent video
Family effort. Love it! 😍
Loved this, as with your previous vids, thankyou. A massive thankyou to camera woman Rachael and wow....your baby was very quiet!

Thanks again ,loved it.
Thank you👍 I've just watched all 4 back to basics and can't wait to see the next. All the best guys
Really enjoying your back to basics videos

Another excellent video. Many thanks for sharing and best of luck with your new little bundle of joy. I can't believe the baby did not make a sound😂
Great video. please keep making them.
Really enjoyed this video thanks
Brilliant as always! Recently bought the book and cant reccomend it enough!! Hoping to head to one of your courses once lockdown clears :)

You can go anywhere you like my friend. Giving over your power and authority to others is not advisable.
Ps. Thanks for the great content.
Thanks Marlow and family, another great watch. Just bought your book too which is fabulous. Keep safe x
Learn so much from watching your UA-cam channel and I’ve just got your book and is great book
Very nice to walk with you foraging plants.
I have been trying to learn more about edible plants lately.
Thanks for sharing the great variety you have there. 👍👍
Really enjoyed this video, learnt so much and you do a great job of presenting
Thanks so much!
I like the video .. Cracks me up the way you remind me of a Steve Coogan character 😆
Alan? :)
Wonderful. Greeks still forage for fresh greens. Horta.
I love your stone walls ...i love having herbs in my hedge :) cucumber you don't have to slice very cool lol

Thanks for the comment :)
I bought your book, I was a bit disappointed that there were so many mushrooms, I would have liked a lot more plants. Still a great book though.
Thanks for buying, we are currently writing 2 new books, one plants only and one mushrooms. We hope to have them available by the end of the year.
Really enjoying these videos as always very easy to watch and very informative. Keep up the good work 👍🏻 I’ve just bought your book very much looking forward to reading it. 😊 stay safe.
I have your book but I have to say your videos make a lovely addition to it. Keep up the good work

I've also been amused at some of the subtitles in these posts, I don't know if you've seen them, some of the voice interpretations are quite funny.

thanks for the foraging knowledge
Please can you do a short video of how you actually prepare the salad and eat it.. thank you!
Get Grumpy the cat to trash those bluebells.
Thanks for these videos they are so useful.

Great vids Marlow n crew. Been a long while since college if i got the right crew that is. ✌🙇✌.
Fantastic job on camera 😆 stay safe n well guys. .
Hunting and foraging are similar.
Good vid. Sound volume's a bit low though
I need to buy your book ...brilliant thank you

Thanks, after lockdown we're hopefully getting some professional help on the production. :)
Eggs and meat with salad
As a vegetarian i do eggs and cheese
Wonder what your trying to stop with the chicken wire on the wooden gate ?
Its a gate made from scraps we found in the garden when we move in. Funnily enough its to stop the chickens, making a mess of the patio...
Iv tried flowering currant berries. Bland is the best I can describe them as. I have been told that the flowers make a better cordial than the berries though and are reputed to be closer in flavour to a blackcurrant cordial than the berries could ever get you
will try that next year, thanks for the tip :)
Thanks so much for these videos 🙏
can you do one for june?/july? :)
I'm thinking about using Spanish bluebell for glue... Apparently used in bookbinding! The English one anyway... Bigger bulbs more glue... Any glue recipes! Is there a way to keep it stable in a tin or jar or maybe plastic washing up liquid bottles?
How would you dress that salad Miles? I eat a lot of leaves but not always easy to encourage my daughter to do so!
balsamic vinegar and olive oil, it's nice and sweet for the kiddies :)
Pop a bell collar on rusty, it'll really reduce the impact on the wildlife, bird-life especially.
Just a suggestion btw :)
She's still a bit wild to get a collar onto! We do feed her though to try to cut down her appetite..
What type of bag is best for foraging?
we use cotton bags that fold up.
Wild Food UK In your Morel video what type of bag is on your waist? I’d like to get one those.
Cat’s foraging too......
Is there any wild plant in Britain that can be harvested in order to make flour for bread, Marlow?
Apparently it is possible to do this, Marlow. Here's 3 short videos on how the wild bread-making process works: ua-cam.com/video/N5O3elIbGxc/v-deo.html
Thanks. Try Pendulous sedge :)
@@WildFoodUK1 I'll look into it, Marlow, thanks for your reply.
Feed and spay this "feral" cat. Most of the problems you are talking about will be solved! Speaking from experience. I am a vet.
Indeed. How do you check if its a genuine feral? Its mighty friendly. I feel like sponsoring a spay if he will take up the offer. Who can organise?

seems i can not buy your book from ireland?
We don't offer international shipping on our website, but if you send an email to admin@wildfooduk.com we can process your order manually :)
You missed the hogweed
I wont next time :)

Rats and rodents take over without hunting.
Didnt see you eat eat ??????????????????
Isn’t it great to be consistently monitored and censored? Nice.
Cats should hunt, just as you should forage. Rodents take over if not, like rats.
You should build a cat-apult...
lockdown beard lol

I tried to add a comment about cats, but censorship won’t allow it.
Bless the cats or you would be back to mice and RATS spreading disease....and thx for awesome video.
Good video.
Will just say that cats dont do anywhere near as much harm to wildlife as humans do.
It must be hard to be a vegetarian when ants keep getting in your salad haha
among other things...
Ary stupid old woman hasn't grownup
Big like, Beautiful share, watched full, and big subscrub , welcome to my home 1
Is it ok for you to take things from nature, but not the cat?
