BRAVO! I've watched most of Grand Designs, UK, and have just started watching GD Australia, and I have to say, hands down, this is the most amazing, innovative and beautifully designed house I've seen yet-- and that assessment includes all the RIBA House of the Year winners and runners up! I was grinning and thinking OMG! at every next reveal of the finished product-- and surprisingly, one of my favorite little things was the outdoor table/fountain in the garden. But the black mirrored ceiling was a master stroke, making the ground floor seem massive in that tiny space. Just a true masterpiece! Chris is a genius, and I'll bet everyone who wants to build a custom house in Australia will be beating down his door to have him design their home.
Easily the best build I've seen on any Grand Designs. The laser etched entrance panels were genius. The reflective ceiling made a huge difference. That said, that house isn't built for a family, it's more of a bro pad.
I get the need to make the place look bigger, but it's a bit too shiny for my taste. But that's just finishes. Otherwise it's an amazing piece of architecture.
That's a really dated build.. I'd take the timeless place he sold over this.. Also, I doubt that under slab heat retention system actually did anything...

This house sold in November 2015 for more than A$1.9M.
They deserved to make a nice profit. Would be interesting to see his next projects.
So it wasn't a forever home. They just used the show to turn a profit.. how green ($$$)...
@@FJB2020 Things change. It's called life.

👍👍
Design nightmare....there is nothing warm and welcoming....a plastic box. However, I hope the family is well and happy, 12 years later...
Yeah, it's pretty ugly by today's standards..
