You know I tend to notice alot of drama does the typical, "First love last forever" ordeal but in reality it rarely happens lol it would be nice if Second-lead male got the girl for a change.
Ikr... and the last episode when he asked the said first love to protect and to never endanger her... he showed us that eventhough he was not the first love, he loved her truly. Imagine how many times he wanted to tell, to hug or hold her since the age of 14 and he didn't do it because he didn't want to put her in danger.
I watch it until ep 17 and his feelings for her are pretty disturbing because they're cousin so this relationship is more toxic and incestuous than anything else

I'm relieve that he didn't changed despite that she didn't chose him. He stayed nice and kindhearted until the end and I'm glad that he didn't die. He became the king as he deserved to be!
Dude the more I watch period dramas the more I realise that being king/queen is not some kind of prize. And plus he never showed any desire to be King. I just hope ( in the show) he never stops smiling.

I actually like their chemistry better than with Jiun. Lee Hwi seemed to smile and relax more when she's around Lee Hyun. Also, Hyun protected Hwi more compared to Jiun who exasperated me a lot coz of how he disregarded the King's secret. Hyun knew all along but thought of Hwi more than his own feelings, while Jiun was sometimes reckless when around Hwi.
Although, from today's perspective, it will be viewed as weird and taboo since Lee Hwi and Lee Hyun were cousins. But during that era I guess it's not weird at all. 😆

Surprisingly, I don't have second lead syndrome in this drama. I super love Hyun and yes Hwi and Hyun also have amazing chemistry. But I still ship the main leads and I'm rooting for Dam-i and Jiun to at least have a happy ending. At this point the best ending would be for Hyun to become king instead while Dam-i and Jiun leave the palace and live somewhere else. I just hope Dam-i can live her life for herself❤️

I actually ship them hahaha i don't skin their screen time, but when it comes to the main lead and the princess/crown prince, i'm skipping, idk, if im the only one but i dont find them that much compatible to each other. I would probably go with this ship or with the bodyguard if only the storyline is change and the bodyguard would have an interest with the female lead because the two of them, hyun and the bodyguard knows from the very start of who she really is. They knew from the start that the crown prince is actually the princess, but that's not the main reason. I just saw some sparks between them more and with the bodyguard despite of the very few screentime whereas with the male lead, they have so much screen time i cant just seem to ship them that much idk why
Same hahaha, I skip the part where Ji un and her is on. Just can't find the chemistry between them despite them being each other's first love. Really liked the chemistry between her and Hyun. The bodyguard would be a nice pair too.

OMG me to I skipped most of their scenes.theirs scenes were cute but they were not captivating. To be honest I skipped most of the scenes where the male lead was on.I thought that he was cool but I found that side characters were more interesting than him like the crazy Uncle, his own father etc.I kept on reminding myself while watching “ he is a nice person, kind even” I had to convince my self to like him and there is no reason that I shouldn’t.

Why do I always end up shipping the second lead more? I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the main couple as much, it was only circumstance that drew them together, and he was able to act a bit more freely then Hyundai could 😞
The problem is that dami knew who he was so she already had feelings for him and was literally the only bright spot from her previous life, but still the writers would have shipped them still even without the childhood memories, the story could have started when Jung saw the prince at the hunting ep.I also love Hyundai.But my only solace is that he didn’t become evil and bitter.That smile was preserved and that is all I could ask for

In that era it’s fine if you guys r cousins but the thing is she played the role as a boy because her brother died thats why it’s so complicated to this two to be end up together, she can’t be a girl for him so she will end up with other dude not to him and move a far because someone keeps on trying to kill her.

Actually I was rooting for dami and jiun for first several episodes... Bt then after marriage and all they are literally cheating on the queen who is a very lovable character and thier romance became creepy and jiun is simply switching his character to sometimes strong and ethical then to stalking and creppy man who doesn't have any self respect... This right here is the truth.I think though I doesn’t betray his character since he was a child.He is emotionally intelligent and is able to quickly come to terms with his emotions and make them clear without any regard. I am sure up until the point were hwi was cut in the arm he did not know she was a woman and was fully prepared without any boundary or regard to be in a relationship with a Man. He said it as if it was the most natural thing to be in love with the king like it was not a bother to him ( during that time period)
