So glad you caught that in time. Rarely do you have that much heat and you not lose everything. Thank goodness you are ok and the combine is fixable.

Love the drag chains!!!! every machine i worked on or setup got them installed. Co workers had a machine that the moisture tester wouldn't update, after they swapped all components and not luck i swung out and install a drag chain. no issues. Deere admitted the composite panels act as batteries for static charge . The chain discharge it.

So glad Hayden that you were on your toes and caught it. The average person has not a clue what is entailed in farming and ranching. So glad you did not loose your combine. Stay safe

A 100 bushel an acer average in beans is phenomenal! As in it rarely happens. Especially on 30 inch rows.

When I first saw the title of this video, I'll admit, my heart skipped a beat. So glad you saw the fire & were able to put it out! Even more thankful that you, or anybody else, were not hurt! I know harvesting can be dangerous, so I’ve been praying for your, & other farmers, safety. By the way, I usually, but not always, wiped my grease gun after use. It’s better to take care of things!😉 I hope y'all don't get too much rain. Please be careful & stay safe!😊❤🙏

Great Save Hayden! I have seen more green machines catch fire and burn up during harvest than any other brand.

Anything that is made of plastic can catch on fire. DEF is made out of fertilizer which has been used in bomb making and is very flammable.

Water Extinguisher only needs antifreeze if you want to leave it outside in freezing weather. 11:47 get the tank hydro tested every year or two.

I’m a John Deere technician here in California. I lived in Nebraska pretty much my whole childhood, which wasn’t too long ago haha. It’s cool still being able to see combines and the harvest through your videos. Some tractors here are a lot different than tractors in Nebraska, not much grain out here 😂.

But California sucks, especially your governor. lol When you get tired of the taxes and no freedom, come on back to NE. 🤣

Had a small fire on a 9500 years ago. I was 100 feet from finishing soybeans in the middle of the night when the monitor panel lit up with about 10 things wrong. Continued to the end, unloaded and was sitting in the cab going thru the manual not knowing there was a small fire burning near the turbo where the main wiring harness ran. Walked around the combine, there was a good amount of smoke, got the fire extinguisher, nothing came out. So I got back in and drove it to near the yard , ran and got a 5 gal pail of water and that was enough to put it out, by then lots of wires were burnt and the starter was running continuously. Fumbled around in complete darkness and finally got the battery unhooked. Next day a JD tech came out and spliced 37 wires and we went and started corn.

Yes dust and static are very real fire starters but you are into both so its just something that you always need to be watching the main thing is that you stay alert to this which you are now its always something thanks for taking us along

So glad you noticed that smoke and were able to put it out. I have seen many combines burned to the ground over soybean dust so stay safe out there.

We should all thank virtuous environmentalists who blessed us with smart def systems which cost us more environmentally in fires and repairs.
Def system is the mantra of modern day activism and state bureaucracy.

An old trick that I thought was just a myth until I almost lost a machine but I drag a chain to ground the combine so the static electricity doesn’t build up and set you of fire.

In the video it was not clear how you discovered it. I believe the video shows you unloading while stopped. Did you get out and was making a routine walk around for no other reason than to do a periodic walk around? Or was there something in the cab that alerted you to a problem that caused you to go back to the engine compartment?

How come y’all don’t run 780s or 790s since y’all harvest so many acres, nothing wrong with what you’re running just thought 770s were a little small for all the acres y’all go over
