I always had a problem with people promoting ghana when they never actually lived there full time. There is a huge difference between actually living here full time and coming in and out on short breaks even if for decades like Vanessa. Very very different!!
She is giving her honest opinions and I’m glad we have this perspective. Many may want to live in Ghana but we don’t have the connections and may have to go back and forth until we get to know the ways.
Wow This video is sad, but in a good way. Vanessa you just don't know how many lives you've changed with your journey in Ghana. For you to go back there and pack up your stuff while pregnant is amazing itself. Just shows what an incredible person you are. I wish you and your family all the love and happiness your hearts can hold. Can't wait to see the next video.
Now it looks like some of you UA-camrs are coming to terms with the fact that Accra is unbearably expensive than most cities in the west. I say Accra bcos yes it’s just Accra. It is a shocking revelation to most of you. I get it. 1. Especially for families moving with kids you will realize that quality education in Ghana too will cost you lots of money. 2. Those like Vanessa and Anna who moved into a western standard rental property will pay rent fees either comparable to the west or sometimes much more expensive than the west. 3. There is this notion that food is cheap in Ghana. Yes that is true for the everyday Ghanaian. But for the westerner he or she will still want to buy those UK/US cereal which cost $2 in the UK/US but cost $10 in Ghana. 3. Like Vanessa, we love our big SUV’s. But gas/petrol in Ghana is much more than the US. 4. I believe Vanessa and her hubby had good savings b4 moving to Ghana. But let me say Folks should not move to Ghana to depend on UA-cam money. If you’re single like most UA-camrs then the irregular UA-cam money will cut it. But for a family unit you will need a solid regular income coming in. Specific jobs in the tech space allows people to work remotely. Keeping your American or UK job and working remotely is the way to go for most people. 5. Remember that there is a code for living in Ghana. And other groups have cracked that code. The code is MONEY! MONEY! MONEY! Lastly let’s tell the real story about living in Ghana 🇬🇭. Tell it as it is, keep it real. Let’s remove the sugar coating.
Aha you came and grab everything am thinking and said it well. Because of this UA-camrs my husband wanted us to move to Ghana, I told him I travel to America by myself and he can take the lead. I will never move to Africa, I will visit but trust me I just move from New York to Minnesota and am enjoying my life here . Will not move to Ghana. Life is 100000x better here don’t let nobody fools you.
Do you really think with all the things we have just seen her throw away that money is a problem for Vanessa! The money that she has used to relocate and go back and forth to Scotland shows me that money is not a problem for this family. Unfortunately the medical healthcare in Gana is not great especially if you are a pregnant woman who may need frequent hospital if it hits and checkups. I don’t blame her for going home and having the peace of mind that she will have by giving birth in a comfortable clean NHS hospital. She is building a house, her sister and it seems her mum live in Gana so I’m sure this is not the last we have seen Vanessa in Gana.
@@doreenayi3751 The healthcare system in Ghana is not as bad as you seem to suggest, for those with the means to pay for private healthcare. Women give birth every day in Ghana and in some of the private hospitals, the care is just as good as in the West. Maternal mortality rate in Ghana is among the best in West Africa. If you think money wasn't a problem for them, then clearly they could have afforded the best healthcare in Ghana so frankly, I don't think poor healthcare is the reason they left. I agree with the original poster... Ghana is expensive, especially for those who wish to live a western lifestyle like Vanessa's family did. Paying $2500 - $3000 a month in rent, paying for private school fees, going to good restaurants, running a car etc. cost money and a lot of it. You can't sustain that lifestyle in the long run with just youtube income, because in the end you run dry. It is very easy to blow $100,000 in Ghana in just one year. It therefore made sense for them to return so her husband could resume work, etc To relocate to Ghana, you need to plan and not base it on an emotional decision. You need to make sure you have a reliable source of income every month and I will also say have a house of your own so you don't have to worry about rent. I think Vanessa loves Ghana but her decision to relocate there was not well thought through or carefully planned... That's why they had to return and yes I am certain money was a factor.
@@africanmindsetseries Completely agree with you... too many diasporans (I am one too) romanticize their homeland without thoroughly thinking and understanding the reasons WHY their parents left and haven't resettled back. Some come with rich mentality (western) without the rich pockets. The electricity went off in the middle of the night...I cant say that I blame you for leaving. I couldn't deal with that either. Many diaspora for one reason or another leaving Africa especially the you tubers saying come on down… however enjoyed your content Wish you well for your next chapter…
Vanessa! Wrap the TV between two pieces of foam! Yeah!

@@akuadanso3274 I swear lol 😂
Safe travels, you will be back after having your baby, Ghana is home for you.
Another great physio Vanessa, good luck in your next journey. You talk about your mum a lot in your videos I would love you to interview her, as I’m sure her experiences of Gana would be very interesting to your viewers does she live there with your sister?
From Ghana currently in Scotland l will be packing up back to Ghana in January 2023 this move is call exchange
Vanessa you did very well 👏. Have a nice Maternity and good luck 👍 bye-bye Vanessa
GHANA IS HELL compared to uk. Honestly. The longest I’ve lasted was 6 weeks. I don’t blame you for leaving. The people are opportunist too 👋🏾
😂🤣🤣 the people are opportunist part killed me but it's true and they have no choice but to be that way because of the system😂
In your opinion
Who needs you here! We are okay in our Hell
Thought you had freedom in Ghana, how is it he'll compared to U K?, the white man is always on your backs.
@@mobrown7594 No in GENERAL 👋🏾
So proud of all you've done. You've inspired so many of us! I'm based in London but enjoyed your journey. You've made the right choice, family trumps almost everything else. Will enjoy the reinvention of your channel!
Hope to see you back very soon.
Awww, we miss u soo much Vanessa
You are sooo beautiful with your curly hair 🥰 Welcome back to Bonnie Scotland 🎉🏴
I said it a year ago. All these back-to-Africa types will come right back to the real world within two years...LOL
Sell the TV why take the chance shipping it.
Safe traveling and I hope you return soon to Africa, Jamaica 🇯🇲
All the best dear.
Vanessa is your dog 🐕 going to Scotland with you?
I was wondering the same thing
Wish I had seen this earlier but I shipped my things from the Us and have a lot of bubbles wrap. I was planning to toss but I said I'd hold into. If not too late you are welcome to it Vanessa. I live in the Osu area.
Omgosh! I made an appearance. 😂
I need to get me a bodyguard! 😅
Good luck on your return
Maybe next time move away from Accra? Less in the city maybe?? And what are the prospects of getting solar panels?👀 I wouldn't know I live in LDN and I'm Igbo so 👀🤪 I have no idea how much it would cost etc but yeah🤷🏽♀️ is that something that could be done so you can go to Ghana again and stay?
My dear this is probably the best decision u made….. the way things are going in Ghana l was wondering why it took u that long. Sorry but sleepy Akufu Addo has put Ghana hundred years backwards!
Speaking of selling your TV, how much would you sell it and what's the size? Have you a safe trip
First Time Here!, I Been Missing U 😘 A lot🥺🥺 Also, U I’ve A NewSubie🤎
Hi Vanessa!! Very nice. Why did you move from Ghana😀? That was so you. I gotta get used to you now living in Scotland. Very very nice. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!
Go watch her video and stop asking questions she has already answered. She is pregnant
Congrats again
Cool upload ❤ Is the dog going with you ? 🥂 Thanks 🙏
You know what I dislike so much? Finding bugs in my FLOUR!!! I need to find a way that this doesn’t happen!
You have to find a way to get the moisture out weekly.
Stop using flour! Find an alternative or use organic. Very simple 🤷🏾♀️
Yes, I’ve decided that when I buy flour again, I’ll put it into an airtight container straight away!
Freeze the flour for a few days in a waterproof container. It kills the eggs.
Africa is very expensive , for you to live the basic , UK life you have to be earning $10000 per month untaxed.
Leave and let us have our peace, disappointed souls
OMFG 😮😂😮😊😅😂
Hope to see ya again 🥺👻😊
I hate bugs on my things or anywhere in my space.🤣😂🤣
Salute Vanessa
You guys upset me so much as Ghana will never be like the west.
Aren't you going back again, ever?
Ok wow why are you leaving? Where will you go and hopefully your not going back to the Uk. This world tension is escalating and the west may not be the best place to go. Check out deagal report as they have a population study which has now been taken down which estimates that the UK, US, and Germany will dive by more then 50%.
Hi
Ghana is a failed state. Vanessa loves Ghana but she has to leave. So many people are leaving. The movement has failed
The movement has not failed. Some might be leaving for various reasons, but there are many who are also here like myself. We are a family of eight and we moved from the UK to Ghana almost a year ago. We are based in Kumasi and we are very happy here and definitely going nowhere. There are challenges here in Ghana just like in any other country, but it’s possible to thrive here and be happy.
@@FamilyByNature update us in 3-5 years 😂 and I don’t want to hear about your friends who lived there for 10-20 years. Most people want to live in Accra not Kumasi anyways. Your children will resent you once they’re older and realize the life they could have had ,had you not uprooted them & moved them to Ghana. I speak from experience 💯 it’s all fun and games because they’re are young now and don’t really understand 💯 most people take their children abroad for a better life & education EVEN these Ghana politicians and here you go…lol
wow
bye bye
Hello my name is Linda and I'm from Massachusetts and I met a man from Ghana and we've been talking for a little over two years and he lives in Tamale ..have you been there his name is Hamdu and I see how he struggles for food all the time and there's no jobs. I'm always looking for a way to help do know how I can find help for him.Thank you for all you do may God bless you and please be safe.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
He’s probably using you for
Money and already has a whole family in Ghana. Be careful of love scams. Literally search African love scams on UA-cam lol 😂
what? you are leaving? you did a great job showcasing places and things. man! are there no flies there?
move to the usa for two years.
Oh no she move over here she's going to be a whole different human being all that kind and humbleness is going to go away I think it's better she moved back to her regular hometown because we know who ever comes to America change in few years 🤣😂😂🤣
America will turn you into an a**h*le. All you will do is work and pay bills.
Your last days my last comment. What could make you sell out and run from Ghana?
Anyone with a brain will run from Ghana right now, The country is expensive.
@@TheChariot99 She is married to a yt person..what do you expect.
Y’all she’s not leaving forever, it’s temporary! She’s pregnant and so she decided to birth and raise the kids in Scotland. While slowly building her dream home. She can’t make much videos being in Ghana and heavily pregnant. It’s understandable.
I don't know why I'm feeling sad Vanessa is leaving, when me, myself can barely take Ghana for more than 3 weeks, just not used to the 'system' lol
It’s a very frustrating place to live 🤣🤣 when the glitz and branding wear off
@@Kukuak82
@@Kukuak82 Why does her and her family leaving Ghana has be negative. We move to states, countries, cities and if for whatever reasons it does not work we move back to where we came from .Sometimes it is permanent, sometimes just to regroup,go back to where you have family and a support system ,find a better job save and try again going back to either Ghana or another African country ,another country, state, city.I see these comments all the time as if when people leave it is seen as if the failed when they come, see can they live in a place and sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.I have seen some who have gone through a lot in Ghana ,it was publicly, brutal and even I would have moved back ,but the stuck it out, said I am never leaving because they love it despite the challenges.
I can't wait to see the progression of the new house that you're having built there. Great video!
Welcome back 🏴
Vanessa you did really well packing up everything while pregnant, I’m glad it seems you had some help too. But damn, did you order family size spring rolls? That was a lot!
Safe flight Vanessa.
