Great review! Mizuno pretty much has got everyone covered with the JPX line. I landed on the Forged, but the entire line is fantastic!
Thanks for the great review, Andy. I've just tested and ordered a set of JPX 923 Forged. You are a better golfer than me, but we hit the ball about the same distance. I noticed though that I was getting a higher launch angle, a little bit more spin, and the difference between carry and total distance for me was only about 4-5 yards. Your ball flight monitor looks to be the same as the one I used. Maybe some of it comes down to different fairway/green settings.
I'm finally upgrading from my 919 forged. Thanks for the review, the 923 forged is definitely my speed.
Good to see there are options for pure strikers and those who aren't always hitting it in the middle, but could you review some club options for those of us who struggle to hit the ball at all?
Ordered the JPX 923 Tours yesterday, feel like a complete imposter playing off 18 hcp but hit them so much better than the forged .
How do you like them? I got fitted by a mizuno guy at my local club and he also fit me into the Tours as a 21 handicap and I am worried about my strike but they seemed to go the same distance no matter where I seemed to hit them. Seem more forgiving than anything else other than the small profile. What are your thoughts on them?
Only played once with them and a couple of trips to range so far but absolutely love them . I was anxious about the off hits but they are still forgiving enough and although you will feel any Mis-hits, the sweet ones certainly make up for it .
How much smaller would you say the new tours are vs the 919Ts? My 7~Pw are pretty burned out and these look like they would blend in perfectly, only reason I’m hesitant is that I found the 919s to be a tiny bit on the thick side of things. The blades are a tiny bit to small and the tours are a tiny bit to large, did they bridge that blade/tour gap at all?

The 919 Tours are slightly bigger or longer in the blade from 6 on down. Not bad though. Better turf interaction, thankfully, over the 919 T’s.
I’d wait until the 24’s are released and compare at that time.
If I swing my 921 Forged 31* 7 iron with 106mph ball speed and a 155 carry (169 total), would the 923 Forged give me any noticeable gains whatsoever? Maybe 1mph speed, 1yd? 923 Forged are 1* stronger in the 7, 8 and 9 irons. These look amazing, but I couldn’t possibly spend all the money for the looks when Im not really gaining anything…
Fair point mate. Remember these clubs aren’t targeted at players with the 921. Most people do not buy generation to generation and the manufacturers know that. However people with the older models really would notice the benefits. Cheers for watching! - Andy
