You can keep them off the road in theory but the authorities do not believe in preservation as they aim to portray the country as modern. Therefore they rarely ever sell the bus to enthusiasts, in fact only 2 buses were ever preserved in running condition, both overseas. Several retired buses exist in Singapore as static displays for practical purposes like a classroom etc. Once they outlive their usefulness they will likely be disposed of. There's a bendy bus that's kept by a bus operator on private lane but its fate is unknown.

They do not understand the concept of being a bus enthusiast at all, and they most certainly do not want what they call "old scrap" on display for the world to see. It's been done twice though so it's not impossible.
Greetings from London! This is a pretty nice sounding bus. Quite enjoyed the unlocked pullaway at 2:13, but nothing beats a good locked ZF pullaway! I visited Singapore in November 2018 and it was mostly Voith Citaros and B9s - didn't hear a single kickdown anywhere! Anyway nice catch, thanks for sharing!
You clearly visited at the wrong time, these kinds of buses were already scrapped just a few years before your visit. There is still one bus here with ZF kickdowns, the Scania K230UB, the Euro 5 version is the best.
@Clement Siut No they dont, have u ever taken a bus before jeez.. this is insane musical redlining, the bus revs to the redline before it shifts up, unlike in most cases when it shifts up way before the redline.
