I’m an American but I am supremely impressed by PM Jacinda Ardern’s leadership and her focus on the collective work of all New Zealanders. I love the fact that there is a clear plan and it is rigorously followed based on the data. All Kiwis should be proud of what your nation has accomplished and you are the envy of the world. I'm surprised they didn't say 2 week extension. Glad it's at least one. Other countries show us lifting it too soon is a mistake. Definitely want to lock in the gains and not need to repeat a whole month plus later on. Good balancing decision - tough call to make. But NZ is going to get there, despite the few numpties - of which there were bound to be a few. 👍
Jacinda is doing great - if level 3 turns out to be premature (because of the "numpties") - then it's back to level 4.
I don't think that will happen - most people are following the rules, all over the world.

What could be the reason why NZ has one of the lowest number of cases around the world?
A. Number of population made it easy for Kiwis to achieve less than 1500 confirmed cases?
B. Kiwis abiding attitude and approach to the call of lockdown made a massive impact in controlling the spread of the virus?
C. Or just like China, number of cases reported were false?

Would have liked to see level 4 for total 6 weeks then straight to level 2 .Stop the confusion and people twisting rules to suit, understanding that its hard with no income I’m in the same boat with 4 young kids and living in Auckland but long term Covid free NZ sounds great especially if we are the first country in the world to do it, I’m sure my kids want mind fitting the cost if there grandparents get to watch them grow old...

The absolute class at which this lady handles her detractors is nothing short of brilliant. The economy rebuild will be a job for all of us to work on. Those of us in non travel or tourism businesses that were viable prior to covid19 will just have to get up dust ourselves down and get back into it. The amount of help and excellent advice for our businesses is available in abundance.
Our travel & tourism industry which is requiring a world wide rebuild by all effected countries will come back from this, be it in a different environment but will be back.

3. 80,000 ( 8%) have serious reaction or death mainly the elderly or immune deficient.
4. 30,000 (3%) deaths.
Back to reality the data is not supported in real life cases; America infected 764,265 deaths 40,565, ; Spain infected 198,674 deaths 20,455; Italy infected 178,972 deaths 23,660 all data accurate on the 20/04/20.
