They were truly the best by a mile. Never seen such a brave storyline in soapland. You know when you watch these little clips and you feel affected again only by that. The acting by the 3 actors was also the best. So glad ED won several awards. Didn´t expect Marc to win something after a whole year. And I would have loved to see Pauline on that stage receiving it. Actress of the year to me
Emmerdale deserved more awards - poor Jackson - this show moved me to tears lots of times - Danny miller great - mark Silcock perfect the time was right" and the winner is ? Emmerdale thank you from America
I know it's been said before, but FINALLY! To be honest, I thought Marc was never going to receive the credit he deserved, so this award was a shock for me (Marc's reaction was the icing on the cake). I wish both Marc and Danny the best of luck in their careers. Two amazingly brilliant actors!
Love Danny's look at 4.03! It's really cute! So happy Emmerdale won rather than Coronation Street or Eastenders. It's just boring when they win all the time!
I can not believe the comments about Danny Miller and Mark Silcock being homophobic. Those are outright lies. Neither actor is. They are heterosexual men. They are sure of who they are and their comments about kissing, etc. are totally taken out of context. Danny Miller was unsure if he could do the character justice when he was told they were going to make "Aaron" Gay but that is all. Once he found that side of Aaron he went into it fearlessly. If he was a homophobe, why is he back on Emmerdale playing "Aaron"? If Mark Silcock had a problem playing a Gay character he could have refused the part. His character came in as Gay. It was never on the page as anything other than Gay and a love interest for Aaron. Sadly it is the homophobes who try to turn even the most innocent comments into something hateful and bigoted. Homophobes think more about Gay sex than Gay people do.
They played the most intens and most importantly most authentic gay storylines i have seen and I watched them all. I mean all...from any country in this world. Their acting was amazing....:-) I didnt like that Jackson died though..:-(
I watched an interview with Danny Miller on Loose Women … and the ladies brought up the subject of playing a gay man and kissing another man … and Danny’s responses were perfect … in no way did he come across as being homophobic … ZERO … Danny was respectful and a gentleman … I’m gay and observed this … but I also don’t live my life looking for prejudices and conflict … I’m from The States and have fallen in love with Emmerdale … Aaron and the entire cast … by far my favorite soap … Danny Miller is an INCREDIBLE actor.
I think your reading to much into it.... He didn't look like he minded being hugged at all. I would say the emotion of winning was formost in his mind at that point- not the fact Marc hugged him... you dont know Danny Miller, not even slightly and you have no basis to accuse of being homophobic. I mean seriously he played a gay character for how many years? He would not of agreed to the storyline if he was homophobic.
Then I guess you would have a problem with Marc as well as he also made some comments a while ago on a british chat show about not liking the part where he had to kiss Danny. I'm sure it was on here. It was on a show called Loose Women. Some like yourself was not happy with how Marc came across in the interview. However I see it is as always being a problems with the interviewers. Kissing for most actors is uncomfortable whoever it is but they don't ask them if it's someone of the opposite sex..
cont.Until the interviews stop making it be such a big deal and asking the actor about their sexuality then it is gonna be a problem for some actors. No one questions the actor if he has any murdering tendacies, if he plays a killer or if he could abuse a child if he's playing a character that hurts children. As soon as you play a gay character your sex life is automatically put under the mircoscope. lt can be a lot to deal with. But they still played the part even though they were uncomfortable
I am hardly a fan of Danny... I just dont think he looked like he was bothered when Marc hugged him. Yes Danny has been qouted as saying he found kissing guys difficult... thats understandable...... He has never said "he hates gays" or anything...
I'm so happy for Marc, Dominic's happy face in the audience, I just love him.
Watching those clips of Jackson's storyline brought back tears to my eyes - glad they won!
