“Take your politics out of it because they’re aren’t any.”
THANK YOU!
Sharon getting emotional absolutely broke my spirit. Politics should never be in love and people actually hurting that woman over who she loved makes me sick to my stomach to think. So sickening to actually consider that it is some people's reality that they deal with on a regular basis. I just wanted to give her a tight hug
Republicans really hated LBTQ+.
@@annabrejcha9848 They still do.
for real, ive watched this since before i knew i was bi and seeing this now when im 20 is just painful aaaaaa
Same it breaks my heart as a bi woman that who we chose to love is part of politics when any straight person can marry whoever they want and no one pats an eye. But if two men or women marry all hell breaks loose 😢💜
I feel ya
I love Sharon so much. And I appreciate the vulnerability she showed in this episode, and how Corey didn't even hesitate to show his love and support as well.
I agree.
The only answer that means "yes" is "yes"!.. it doesn't exist such thing as a blurred line.. all the others like "no", "I don't know", "I'm not sure" means "NO"
THIS!!!! “Maybe” isn’t a yes either. “Yes” is a “yes”
Thiiiiis! Thank you
I get teary when Izzy & Sharon tell their story, cause I always see them laughing and make people happy watching them ... I want to hugs them so bad at that moment 🥲
Same here
As a Dodgers fan, I find it hilarious that San Francisco banned "Royals" by Lorde.
Also, I respected Sharon because of being such a great person on "People vs. Food" but hearing her story about how much she fought for same-sex marriage, it gave me a whole new level of respect for her. You are amazing, Sharon! Nothing will change that.
It was just two radio stations. Not the whole city of San Francisco.
@@maplenerd22 I know. Still funny
@@jeffrey_solis90 exactly because I was like "Huh why was this song banned" and then the reason omg so funny
@Andy I just figured it out when I found out the year. Sports are very superstitious.
Lorde should do a new song called "Dodgers" just to mess with them
Sharon crying and saying that she got beat up and pushed into traffic made me cry so hard. She is sunshine and hilarious
Sharon crying made me cry 😭
The loving chemistry between Brian and Izzy is one of my favorite vibes of all time!
Ikr🥰🥰🥰
when sharon started to cry and get emotional for the macklemore song i started to cry with her because I know so many people who were in her same situation and its so heartbreaking.
Same! I came here just to say this exact same thing! I don’t get why lgbtq+ is a political thing?! Love is love!! Spread some!
@@Trishoc-vf2dweveryone is responsible for making it a political thing!
Why can’t people just be who they are and not worry about it.
The fact that there’s “PRIDE” month and parades in a way keeps the group separated by their own means.
The more we celebrate differences….the longer we remain different. JUST BE YOU!!!! WHO CARES WHAT KAREN DOWN THE STREET ACTUALLY THINKS.
That song came out and I was legit balling my eyes out. I still get so emotional listening to it even to this day.
@@JM-pm1yb Not sure what you actually think Pride is, but PRIDE is NOT LGBTQ specific.... You can go to Pride as a straight person, and actually is recommended. The right politicize LGBTQ in order to hate them, because they can actually contribute to a society correctly
And they were both 1000% correct! How is love political? I would REALLY like to know!
I want to hug Sharon! She went thru all that because she loves someone of the same sex. This world is not right. I Love you Sharon!!
You and me both
This entire segment broke my heart. Seeing Sharon and then the guy next to her comforting her this is so beautiful. Especially when they talked about it not being about politics and just being about love
I find it funny how so many people say that the current generation is "so sensitive," but then, in their days, they tried to ban songs on the radio as well. Here's another addition: The Christmas classic, "I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus," was initially banned in Boston because the catholic church believed the song promoted having marital affairs.
didn't they listen to the end of the song?
I have so much respect for you Sharon🥺🤧 she made me tear up a bit when they were talking about the Macklemore song🫶🏽
Same! Thank you Sharon for helping fight for the lgbtqia+ community.
Immediate tears when Sharron got emotional😭
Seeing Sharon cryin' and Corey just listens to her and hugs her, it was really emotional. NOBODY, and I mean literally NOBODY, should be against LOVE, it has nothing to do with politics, it's LOVE!
THATS RIGHT ALICE!!!!!!
13:01 “How are you against love?”
That’s a good question.
The only one that I can truly see being banned is the Blurred Lines. Otherwise, the other songs weren't as bad
See Shar get choked up broke my heart. I haven't experienced it, but it breaks my heart knowing this is still happening.
I really love how supportive the reactors seem of eachothers struggles, as black men, as lgbtqia+. They got eachothers backs and it was really noticable in this video.
It is cringe
@@user-gs3yf7dv8r You’re cringe.
OK, the Phil Collins song; that was stupid. He wrote it when he was going through his first divorce. Where in the lyrics do you hear anything to do with war, or hijacked airplanes? Insane!
I couldn't have agreed with you more on that. I personally feel like "In The Air Tonight" is a love song/break-up song. He married a woman that he thought he loved but things just didn't work out for the two of them and they had to move on from each other and on with their lives by taking separate paths. And that is when Phil wrote this song back in 1981 on his album titled "Face Value". This song being "controversial has NEVER, NOT ONCE crossed my mind. EVER!!!!! I was born an 80's-Head (Thank you Dad for diagnosing me with your 80's Genes at such a young age😅😂🤣) When I hear the word "Air", I think of the stuff that helps you live on this planet. NOT the destruction of The World Trade Center in New York. I'm sorry for my ranting about my favorite Phil Collins song but I feel like my feelings just needed to be said about it🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Good question.
That's Crazy.
In honor of Tina Turner maybe do an episode try not to react to her songs or something like that
I agree.
Second this
Definitely like generations
“To honour her passing, try to act like you don’t like or give a shit” yah not that. More like, enjoy all you do
YES
That guy who finds Paul or Peter creepy has some good instincts. Paul Yarrow was in jail for three months after inappropriate advances toward a 14-year-old.
"How are you against love?" - Sharon, 2023
"I don't know" or "maybe" does not give consent, it's not a blurred line. The song promotes non-consensual sexual behavior and women as "teases" or "hard to gets" when declining or being unsure. There can be many reasons why someone is not able to say "no" as an answer (fear for safety, social pressure, being under influence). If you have to coerce or pressure someone to have sex with you or you don't get a clear consent, it is called r*pe.
I'm Australian and was at that rugby grand final; it was a sad time for me during the whole situation, I was so mad they wouldn’t allow him to sing that song but I'm glad he did, he was amazing and my team won haha 💜🏳🌈
I think more people watched it just to make sure he did that song. It was around d the same time as our national same sex marriage vote, which passed 😍
Damn...seeing Sharon damn near start to cry made me cry...I remember being so happy that , at least in NY my son could marry the man he loved.
It made me teary eyed, too. I can't imagine being shoved into traffic for believing that two grown adults should have the right to get married.
Sharon tugged on my heart strings. She has won so many peoples heart on this channel with her wit and charm and to think there’s any aspect of her life that was that challenging (let alone to marry the love of her life) is hard to hear. I’m glad we’ve made strides overall so anyone can marry who they choose.
Sending some big hugs out to big Shar! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I cried when Shar was telling her story. What a horrible world we live in
I related to what Sharon was feeling as a person who's part of the LGBTQ+ community it sucks being criticized for loving who you want to love
Whoever made Sharon cry here, I would love to know. Nobody hurts our Big Shar!!!😢
Pumped up kicks was also banned from a lot of US radio stations because of its correlation with school shootings
I was waiting for that song to show up on the list. When I didn't see it I honestly was blown away thinking it wasn't banned compared to how these songs were.
I'm pretty sure Ice Cube's F tha Police was far more controversial than Straight Outta Compton.
not to mention Ice-T's Cop Killer
Omg, Sharon, I love you so much! I’m so sorry you had to fight for a basic human right.
“My favorite line is ghost busters is “bustin makes me feel good”” 😂 I laughed SO hard
Gaga had the catholic church mad and was banned from stepping into countries! Judas went Top 10 and trends every year on easter as one of her classics, iconic
the part where they were like "Gaga's style is the work of satan and is dangerous to youth" i couldn't stop laughing as a bisexual, growing up with her was gr8.
It’s crazy how everything is political now when most of it shouldn’t be. Love is not political. Religion is not political. State and church are supposed to be separated but that has become so far from reality now. It’s sad.
I couldn’t agree with you more
12:23 was heartbreaking
First of all... I need more of Corey singing because his voice is BEAUTIFUL
I wanted to give Sharon a big hug. My husband and I have been together for 27 years, and married for seven of those, so I know where those feelings were coming from. And BTW, Sharon...THANK YOU.
Regarding Same Love by Macklemore - this also happened while Australia was also fighting for our rights around it. There was a non binding, non compulsory postal survey, and people went hard campaigning the no side 😢
"I pulled a hamstring for that reach!" 😂😂😂
I agree with everythng but the blurred lines. It wasn't that whole "Myabe Idk" scenario that Sharron said it was. It was blatantly about wonen saying NO and men not taking no for an answer and trying to gaslight gilrs to say yes. They defnitely are flashing their fame and money as a factor which is so gross and then they go on to say stuff like "I know tou want it" and "you wanna get nasty." It was rapey, creepy, gross and mysoginistic. Hate that song.
Also, The stories about the behind the scene making of the video is also creepy. I know the models where getting paid however, some of the models felt forced to the topless take.
@@tspawn35 the casting literally called for topless, so noone was forced to do anything, and as a reminder said models posed topless in magazines. Stop gaslighting the fact that being topless is in only a big deal in the USA, and literally nowhere else.
Like 90% of the hiphop and rap songs, so yeah not far off music everyone enjoys. The entire video was made to create the reaction it received. Do you honestly believe the director of this music video didnt know it was misogynistic? Really you believe they didnt do this video on purpose, and dont expect any of us to believe it was rapey or creepy, it was honestly a good representation of how woman act in this country. Certainly not all, but alot of women are golddiggers and respond to this very song.
Aww Sharon, I cried right along with you! My aunt and her wife were married for 25 years, she had to hide it for most of her life due to the stigma. I knew and loved her wife like she was own blood. Who cares who loves who!! Happiness is necessary in life!
Love Sharon!!!! Love her showing her pain over what she had to go through just to be able to be equal to “regular” married couples. It’s not about politics it’s not about religion it’s about love.
For the song "I Want to break free", it wasn't even Freddie's idea to dress in drag. It was the band's drummer's idea, Roger Taylor.
Sharon getting emotional really got me choked up 😢
same... needed to give a hug
During the Queen video portion, when it's said, "You don't have to watch it." Yes, exactly! People get offended over *everything* these days, and it's so stupid. Just don't watch or listen if you don't like it. Just move on! Thank you for a great video!
"I pulled a hamstring for that reach..."
🤣
I remember reading somewhere that Monster Mash is basically a Halloween orgy and that’s why BBC had it banned
"My favorite line in Ghostbusters is Bustin' makes me feel good" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
As an Australian who watches the NRL, I was proud of Macklemore and loved that he performed it. I love that song so much.
I feel you Sharon! I was in the 5th grade and I brought this tape to school for a bring your favorite song to music class and the teacher refused to play it. I did not understand why and was so mad!!!! I loved Olivia Newton John and thought "Physical" was about exercise!
With the Mackelmore song - don't the bigotted fools realise that trying to ban it WAS making it political?
The cool thing is not only did he perform it, anyway, but the attempt merely drew more attention to the pro' side 😎👍
Sharon, thanks for having fought for us all! :) You are inspiring, awesome, and beautiful, and even much more that I learn every day by watching you. Such power, happiness and inspiration!
Sharon is a trooper and a star! Love and respect her so much
What I’ve learned from watching this (not that I didn’t already know) is that in a lot of these they where banned because people hate anything that makes them uncomfortable so instead of dealing with the discomfort they would rather stay in their bubble of ignorance instead of educating themselves and letting people just be themselves
why risk changing the way you see the world when you could just bury your head in the sand instead?
🥴🤦🏾♀️ The things people think of that would be offensive are 9 x out of 10 probably not even on people's mind.
I love Cory and Sharon reacting together. So many many good vibes and just yes!
@Sharon I am sending you big hugs, and I am a huge fan of yours. I hope I actually get to meet you one day!!! My husband and I love the React channel. We adore everyone on here. We support every one of you!!!! Love from VA!
The really funny thing about 'I want to break free' and everyone saying it was Freddie saying this and that... is that it was written by the bassist, John Deacon.
exactly.
I live in San Francisco and had no idea that the song Royals was banned here. As a Giants fan, I can kind of see it wanting to be banned because they were battling with the Kansas City Royals for World Series supremacy at the time. Almost ten years later and looking back on it, it's kind of petty and dumb to have done it.
Omg!!! Sharon....you brought tears to my eyes!!! I swear if ANYONE would've messed with with you and I knew you...well can't say that here!!! Just KNOW I LOVE you and you help me get through every sh*tty day that I have!!!
"HE WROTE THE SONG FOR TARZAN!" Is probably the most millennial line in this video lmao
Puff the Magic Dragon is based on a poem by Ogden and is about how we lose innocence as we grow older.
I'm surprised Madonna's Like a Prayer and Erotica didn't make the list.
Izzy and Brian is a Pairing that always need to be together their chemistry is unmatched
I want to hug Sharon. I am a straight woman but I would stand proudly beside her, fighting for her human rights to love her wife!
12:25,
Big Shar, you are an incredible icon, and a strong woman! I just want to hug you! Also, thank you for fighting for us! You are awesome!
Bruh...Brian and Izzy are FANTASTIC when they're reacting together.
Izzy: "I wanna take ride on that disco stick..."
Brian: 😮🤣
We love you Sharon. Thank you for your service !
I always thought Puff the Magic Dragon was a sad song because the little boy is growing up and forgetting his imaginary best friend.
Do people not understand that if you try to ban things, it has the potential to make them even MORE popular?
no, of course they don't , because they don't have brain capacity to understand that those songs had NOTHING of what they were accused of
Former cop here, F*** the Police did not piss me off. Inmates would request it as they were going to prison and needless to say it was a party all the way to prison. I always look forward to seeing those guys when they got out.

I am not ok when Sharon cries/tears up. My heart…🥺 Love you so much, girl. Big hugs.
Nothing about consent should ever be blurred. But it is an ear worm of a song. The Phil Collins song being banned is ridiculous. Olivia Newton John is the epitome of wholesomeness. And finally Baby Shark should be banned everywhere.
Hahaha, I had never even heard of Baby Shark before this and wondered why everyone seems to hate it so much! So... I listened to it. I guess if you have kids and hear it a bazillion times it would get old *real fast* for sure!
We love you Big Shar! You are such a ray of sunshine, thank you for fighting for something that shouldn’t be political! (As you said)
I was surprised that Phil Collin's song was banned bc I don't hear nothing wrong in that song for them to ban it.
Songs I expected to be on the list:
Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People
R@pe Me by Nirvana
P*ssy by Rammstein
Rich B!tch and/or Cookie Thumper by Die Antwoord
Dogs of War by Pink Floyd
My Way by Frank Sinatra (karaoke murders in the Philippines)
Mary on a Cross by Ghost
The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson
Most of me favorite songs
You have good taste in music, like me. xD
I was Expecting 'Prodigy - Smack your B**Ch up' to be on there. A song and music video that is (was) banned in almost every country and there music video can only be played after 21:00 in the Bands home country.
Sounds like a good playlist
The video of Akzent - Kylie literally has the backstory of daterape in the last 5 seconds of the video.
You see her being distant at first in the clip, the guy is grabbing at her ass, but she locks herself in the bathroom and doesn't want him.
Then, she takes a drink and comes back to him, kissing him.
She starts kissing and making "love"(not love) to all the singers in the band, drinking champagne and vomiting it up right after. They laugh, they know why she is vomiting.
In the last 5 seconds, there is a clip-clip-clip-clip-clip (really fast) reveal of him opening a pill above her drink, her taking the drink, her kissing him and having intercourse.
And then they get out of the taxi, wave her unconcious body goodbye and walk off again as the taxi drives off.
I really do agree that the lyrics of Blurred lines are shitty
Surprised Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Relax(Don't Do It) wasn't in your list, The group had to make an alternate video and radio mix for it to be played at all.
Like a Prayer is one song I was surprised wasn't mentioned
1:51 judas was insanely controversial at the time, religious protests were held outside her concerts almost every nighth and she was also banned from entering Indonesia.
I will never understand people who are against same sex mariage. It’s ike if you were at a restaurant and someone at another table order something you don’t like and you started protesting because they ordered something you don’t like.
Why are you mad about something that doesn’t concern you ?!?
They banned Queen 'cause Rogerina was hot af.
If I have to say "maybe" to an advancement, it means "no" and I'm terrified of saying it outright for fear of being harmed/killed.
I want to break free was all Roger Taylor, Freddie did not actually want the cross dressing at first because he knew the ramifications of it, but Roger insisted and it was iconic because of it.
I am surprised "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People didn't make the list. I know it has been banned several times and there are stations that just don't play it.
Lmao I know right it’s literally a messed up song
Or Killing Strangers
How about - you don't like it - DON'T LISTEN! Turn it off. Move along. Don't attack!
"I think people are a little soft", just another reason I love Sharon. That and her love of food.
Its Crazy How They Said "People Are Too Sensitive" But The Second Something About Jesus Popped Up They Started Hating On It. Hypocritical Much?
This !!! I cringed on this entire episode
@@Lydia_Ranki Idk Anyone Who Goes Through an Entire Episode Without Doing It At Least 5 times ONG LMAO
EXACTLY
as an Aussie i can say we were mad too at the fact that they were threatening to ban it. so I'm incredibly embarrassed to this day that such a thing happened here...
I have never in my life understood why people are anti LGBTQ, the sexual ones are a private matter and no one else's business, if you're not a party to it you don't get to have consent, I feel like gender identity ones are more like a name, I should only be concerned with getting it right according to the person I'm speaking to
I love Sharon, but, I'm sorry, saying "No" is NOT a blurred line.
Oh you're one of the Karen's that got that song banned 😂 miss me wit the miserable lifestyle
She literally said no is no what video did you watch?! 😂😂😂
She said maybe is a blurred line, which I disagree with because it still doesn't mean yes which is the whole point of consent.
The fact that someone banned "I want to break free" is just another victory for Freddie... 😁
surprised Madonna's Like a prayer was not up there.
The only reason Blurred Lines is good is because it contributed to Weird Al's Word Crimes. So great!
The funny thing about Break Free video, the concept wasn't even Freddie's idea, I was Roger Taylor's.
and it was only banned in America wasn't it?
"Can we just ban Baby Shark?" Yup, you are a parent. You understand the anguish.
lol it was barney for me
@@yomogami4561 Oh God, even as a child I couldn't stand the Barney song. Besides I preferred Magic School Bus over pretty much everything on PBS.
I pulled a hamstring for that reach!! 😂😂 that's going to be my new phrase!
