  • In the face of rising fish production costs such as feed and land rental, Egyptian farmers are looking for innovative and sustainable ways to ensure higher productivity and profitability. The in-pond raceway system (IPRS), introduced by the WorldFish-led Sustainable Transformation of Egypt’s Aquaculture Market System (STREAMS) project, increases the productivity of aquaculture in existing pond units by culturing fish in aerated raceways and removing solid wastes. The circular system captures nutrients for use as a crop fertilizer and requires minimal use of drugs and chemicals to ensure food safety.

IPRS costly but very fruitful for production of healthy fish.

Why do we need a sophisticated technology like in pond raceway to culture fast growing fishes like Tilapia and Catfish?

    Better using biofilter
& biofloc technology in tank system. Simple and cost cheaper.
