What I learned. The battery dies quickly on e-scooters. A 40% loss in capacity in the first year is not unusual. However, the larger the battery capacity the slower it dies. Also, a external battery pack is far better than a built in one. This way you can take more than one battery. This way you can also charge the battery inside when scooters are not allowed inside. This means that they will NOT honor their warranty, because it means they have to get the OEM to repair it and that is too much hassle for them. I recommend adult men get at least 400 watt motors or else you have to get off and push the scooter on every hill. A suspension is a MUST. Or at least medium to large air inflated wheels. Avoid small wheels. Companies put on small wheels to compensate for low torque motors. The ride is awful and it gets stuck easily in dips in the road. Or else every bump and dip in the road is jaw rattling. If possible, though currently not really available, get a model with open source parts. If you have to depend on the one company for every part it gets expensive and slow. Tires and batteries especially. And if the company goes out of bossiness (happened to me), your scooter becomes garbage. Finally, if you are a commuter make sure the scooter has a handle so it can be folded (especially the handle bars or else you'll be stabbing people with the handle bars) ) and rolled. Even a 30 pound scooter is HEAVY if it has to be carried not to mention all the dirt that will dirty your clothes. Yes, e-scooter engineers are NOT too bright. It doesn't even seem like they use their own products. The market is wide open for a e-scooter maker with Tesla like design teams.
Either you bought a lemon or you're doing something terribly wrong with your scooter. I own a Dualtron 2 MX ("New Dualtron") with nearly 7000km on the clock, nearly 3 years old. Still has over 95% of its original capacity. I did find the charger to be a problem, it gradually dropped a little in voltage, which resulted in it not charging as much, giving the illusion of the battery wearing out. That could also be a cause of your woes... or it could just be a lemon with a poor quality battery.
@@realKaymoney haha. Take a look at the E-TWOW GT SE. 25lbs with better range ,25mph + suspension. I have to go up a few flights of stairs and weight of scooter was one of the must-haves for me. But lifting a 40lb scooter up the stairs would be a great workout in the morning! No gym needed... lol
