Attach Legs & Fix Bolts To Fibreglass Mother Mold

    In this video we attach wooden legs using fibreglass to the fibreglass mother mold. We also drill holes for bolts to keep the mother mold secure and in place, to keep the latex mold in shape ready for concrete casting.

    Had night mare doing legs strands of fibreglass all over whats best to tidy up dont want splinters hurt like hell haha

      Funnily enough, my weakness is fibreglassing legs. You might want a Dremel or Dremel-like tool to clean up the edges and sharp bits! :)

    I have had to sacrifice a few models myself. you can have a 1 inch spot that didn't get mold release on it and it wont budge, Sometimes if you can spray some water with a garden hose between the glass and latex it can help. great video

    So, about a day for half of a mother mold if you are doing 3-4 layers for let's say... a mask?

    What is the base you are using to put your mould on before fiberglassing?

      I tend to use whatever is at hand here and usually some kind of board or anything which is suitable.

    Do you have to have the silicone mold insert? I want to make concrete plant pots and was going to use silicone as a mold until I was told concrete will wreck it after a while so thought fibreglass would be better
