omg you included my tweet in this 🤣 glad to inspire you haha - this was great to watch!
Of course! Keep doing the awesome violin stuff!
It feels like the entire music is telling Link he is not alone anymore and i'm LIVING for it.
Yeah it sounds like the game is all about link and less of Zelda
So hype to discover the game and its musics 🔥
@@justice96912 Funnily enough Zelda's choices and autonomy is arguably more core in the actual storytelling than every other Zelda game, it truly is the Legend of ZELDA this time
ohh i can feel it.. love it
@@zachrabaznaz7687 [Spoilers]
I felt that too, but it didn't really make sense to have it as the LEGEND of Zelda if we just revive her in the end.
I really miss hearing Kass' song randomly playing when exploring the map for the first time. I dropped everything I was doing to listen to him play the whole song every time
Biggest loss of ToTK by FAR was removing Kass ngl
They replaced him with dollar store Kass (Penn)
Loved that dude.
Rip Kass it basically implies he died in the wind storm
first time i saw kass, i was a total noobie at like 9 years old and was scared of everything after just coming off the plateau lmao. i refused to approach him since i thought he was a monster (had never seen a rito before), but as soon as i took a chance i loved him. miss kass
I really like how they combine western and oriental instruments
The choice of Chinese instruments for a Japanese game is interesting.
@@PenneySounds I mean that's like saying the choice of a piano in an american game is interesting
There's points in the game where I even spot Bach influences
@@heehoknoobo2518 Not really. Western instruments are pretty much ubiquitous in theme music in all media and all regions. Chinese instruments are uncommon to the point that they even have been seen as kind of uncool within China itself. They're rarely heard outside contexts where the Chinese-ness of something is being emphasised. But here they are used not because they're Chinese, but purely because they're beautiful. And being used in a country that has historically kind of looked down on Chinese people (to put it mildly), but has lately seemed to be finding an appreciation for their culture.
Because Chinese dragons... are a big part of the story in this one. The Ehru represents a very specific dragon-related plot point (just as the reversed voices represents the Zonai's mysterious civilization). After the Ehru, the music reminds of the sky islands. I love how everything has a meaning in this OST. Such brilliance!
Am I the only one crying listening to this beautiful treme? LoZ have such great musics! So happy to know these games. Congrats for the video! cheers from Portugal!
Lets go Tuga no represent!!! E sim sem duvida nao es a unica
Nah im the same especially now after a breakup with someone i wouldve played the game with. Idk for me its like a sort of moving on kind of theme like: this is a new beginning
I was looking for this. Breath of the Wild and Tears of The Kingdom music has made me cry so many times it’s so so so beautiful. I would pay to watch this live by an orchestra
I would say that means you are a human. This has dethroned the Witcher III as my favorite game OST, personally!
I love the usage of the Sun's Song consistently throughout BotW and TotK. Those 3 notes being used so often with Link being called "our light that must shine on hyrule again" as he's opposing an evil force being associated with the moon or blood moon. And with the newest tears of the kingdom trailer having Zelda in the room with sun and moon cogs, I think it's completely intentional that both the music and Zelda hint at Link being the "Sun" of Hyrule. I wonder if the Sun will power us up in some way as we climb higher and higher into the sky?
So now he's Escanor
I couldnt help but notice how sneaky it was to play the BOTW leitmotif, and then transition directly to the Tears Main Theme
Everyone around me just doesn’t get how magical the music from The Legend of Zelda is. These videos make me smile so hard, getting to learn about all the different ways this masterpiece was brought together!!!
ikr thats another reason I love BOTW when your playing the game there's always some music and it sounds so peaceful and calm feeling idk its just amazing and beautiful
The hand claps in the music is a deliberate thematic choice
Hands represent connection and the ability to manipulate /create in the game
I also think the sound of hands clapping together being a running motif is important considering what happens at the start of the game.
It also resembles the Switch "click" sound.
The erhu is associated with the dragons in BOTW and there is dragon imagery all over TOTK including the logo of the game. The first section with the erhu to me gives off light-hearted military vibe with snare drum and piccolo being like a marching band and fife combination. I think the saxophone will be associated with the zonai and sky islands and they will push the timbral limits of the sax similar to what they did with Piano for BOTW. Sky… air…wind… woodwind - seems like the approach to me
MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW:
And the last three notes of the song being the first 3 of Zelda's Lullaby, played by the Erhu? 😭 🐉
Edit: Wait, why does this video cut off before the actual ending of the song??
I absolutely LOVE the erhu part, but my favourite part has to be after the major modulation and with the strings coming in at 8:28 ish I'm ngl it brings tears to my eyes
Are those tears by chance of the kingdom?
I had a switch 2018 and played all the big games, then sold it. Yesterday I bought a switch lite to play this game, and omg I’m about to cry cuz im so hyped!
can’t wait to hear this live at the game awards
Im a musician/composer meself, and I have to say that I LOVE this themesong! Beautifully composed!
You know when a Zelda release the ost is GOD tier
I now have a much greater appreciation of music because of this video review...wow.
nobody gonna mention that satisfying Joycon snap sound right after the epic build up? I always love that..
For me, the backwards sounding voices is very reminiscent of the sounds they use when referencing the twilight realm >> and I really REALLY hope I'm right.
So excited for this game! Quality analysis as always. 😎
Thank you!
This main theme is basically compacting the entire story in one tune, beautifully coherent while also paying homage to the previous Zeldas. It all makes a lot more sense after you finish the game... Quite amazing, a real work of genius.
I've listened to this theme for a week now on a loop. Started playing Breath of the Wild, my first ever Zelda game just because of this!
Can't stop grinning listening to it haha
Botw was also my first Zelda game
3:29 was the same reaction I had when listening to this theme
I love how much relevant knowledge you bring to the table, about both music in general and videogame music in particular too. The fact that I actually believe your reactions is also a huge plus. That’s not something you can take for granted with UA-cam reactions whatsoever.
Wow! Thank you so much!
I knew it was good but not this good! thank you for your analysis!
I’m glad you’re reacting to this, even though we know around nothing about the game (unless you looked at the leaks) it’s good to have you react to the legendary main theme. Also you probably don’t take requests for game songs that you should check out but I recommend you check out music from A Hat in Time! I personally think some of the music in that game is amazing and you’d love it.
You can tell he loved doing this.
The soundtrack gives me gliding, landing, land action, combat, and epic adventure.
Love these types of music exploration videos, especially with my Zelda totk excitement! Wow so gorgeous!!
You're by far my favorite music analizer. I love how you cut in other songs and instruments that you are talking about so we can compare. Most other music youtubers just talk about it instead of showing. Thanks for the extra editing work. It's much appreciated.
P.s. you got drip. Sick fasion sense.
There is a very interesting chord progression from 9:32 where the chords go up and then after the key change at 10:07 the chord goes down chromatically. It's subtle but beautiful.
The combination of the Chinese instrument erhu and strings has become a staple in Japanese dramas. Check out the soundtrack of a drama called Jin, where a doctor travels back in time to the Edo period!
Great analysis! Thank you for sharing! Great video! ❤
I feel like you should look at the colgera boss theme next. Almost objectively the best track in the game
Great analysis, thanks!
I was going to sub to your channel after watching this (I'd seen your previous reaction and analysis to the music from the final trailer and this one cinched it for me) but I was even more sure I made the right choice after seeing your Tifa PAK in the background of this vid. Man of culture.
Thank you!
I need to check if you did an analysis of the final trailer now. I hear that moment when he's on the glider and the saxophone hits in my sleep still. I'd never had that happen with a game trailer before. It was almost as good of an experience as actually playing a game that I like.
Hi De Leon, I enjoyed your reaction video! Thanks!
9:03 - I don't see many youtubers speculating how those voices sound like Fi from Skyward Sword.
It’s the Zonai spirits being taken over by the gloomy deah. Okay not that exactly. But they’re zonai
Maybe the different instruments represent/hint at different champions helping....like Tarry Town's different sections changing instrumentation.
Good observation!
Your videos are so good :D
So happy to be welcome back on your channel /o/
I had a 2017 switch, tomorrow I’m getting a Oled just for this game :D
The hype is through the roof !
The totk main theme makes me cry every time I hear it! Ugh. Did you watch the orchestra that came out a week or so ago?
I just love this guy reactions xd
i love the beginning of the theme fr
It would be great if you react to the Colgera Theme or Ganondorf's Theme, also from Tears of the Kingdom, they're the best soundtracks in the entire game imo.
Why does Nintendo music always so awesome
They understand the timeless value of music.
This is a beautiful song
we need him to react to the trailer theme and (spoilers for boss)
the colgera theme
interesting analysis, sir! 👍
Great video 😊
It was Nice to meet You SPG, SEE You in a looong time, i'll miss You 😂
Great the music of koji kondo in all the zeldas makes me cry 😭😭👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
If you know that one Zeltik Theory it feels even more amazing!
I have to say. Your makeup game is excellent. Best dressed composer for sure.
Thank you!
You're welcome! And thank you for your musical analysis as well. I learned some things about key changes. It helps me understand why songs make me feel certain things.
Dopamine is more active when we expect and seek out happiness, and I can say, this hype has been a dopamine rush.
This is going to sound amazing at the game of the year orchestra
The ending sounds like Twilight Princess. I love it.
You should try listening to the final trailer theme on the channel, it’s really good.
You're late.
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficialI feel intimidated by that reply lol
The erhu part of the music might also symbolize dragons, as in the logotype for this game.
Nice !
5:10 anyone else, if you listen closely, there seems to be a sort of beeping/SOS noise hidden. Reminiscent of the one in the divine beasts in botw
i don't hear it but i wouldn't get the point why they'd put it right there, wouldn't fit imo
String Player Gamer's brain rips in half part 2!
Please react to the Wind Temple Boss (Colgera) theme! It's amazing
It is! But it's still fresh on my mind cause I'm playing the game. Maybe in a week or so later.
I swear Kondo and Mitsuda keep in touch
To me it kinda sounds like skyward sword and breath of the wild smashed together to perfection
i like your fit! its gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!
You have to try reacting to ultrakill osts!!
The pianokey necktie makes me think of _Zoolander._ This must be a special occasion.
Love that film!
in minute 8:53 right after the new modulation, that piccolo or flute or whatever... I just saw in my mind, the Orni character helping Link in the fight. Amazing
The music conveys so much imagery! It's amazing!
(for those who don't Spanish, Orni = Rito 😉)
@@askyle not just Spanish, but German as well
Good job 😂😂😂
The first three notes of the main theme here are also Song of time. BAH buh BUM before the two BAHBAHHHH! It also repeats the same way. BAH buh BUM (bah bahhh) BAH buh BUM (bah bahhh) The rest seems to follow the note progression of the end of the song of time with extra notes thrown in as well.
Why is this theme so good?
aren't you somehow related to master diwa? came across with one of your videos way back ragnarok era like 2000's?
I dunno why, but the weird, low murmurings at 10:15 I really like. I don't know what that is exactly. Also SPG, digging your tie, and the red in your hair, it's a nice color. Similar to my step-sister's hair color, almost exactly the same. Hyped for this game, but keeping it under control. Unfortunately, I won't get the game until the 13th.
I think you might know this by now, but we found out those are the voices of the long past zonai, hope this helps
I don't see how that really explains it.
@@MrArcadia2009 the zonai were a race that fought with the first ever hylians against the demon king (Ganondorth), I don’t know why their chants are in this theme but eh I like it
@@LelandTP Uhhh, I've played the game? I know zonai.
5:16 is it not saxophone, not bassoon? 😮
Loved this video thank you so much for taking the time to do these jewels so awesome to discover this pieces with your amazing output
u heard it here first folks kass will be a sexy saxophone man in tears of the kingdom :p
I reccomend you check out a game called Rogue Legacy 2! Doesn't get the praise it deserves, and it's OST is brilliant ("Immortal Cain" is the best song in the track imo)
Nintendo knows how to make music. I find myself listening to old tracks all the time. Mario kart 8 has great music.
Think his right
If you have the time to do another analysis and reaction, please do the theme that plays when °!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!°
You're decending into the glooms lair, it is called "Decending into gloom's lair" more exactly the part that pops up when you search Decending into gloom's lair epic phases
I already beat the game.
SPG You should listen to the Terraria Calamity Mod OST by DM Dokuro! Some of my favorite music in gaming ever came from this mod, makes me wonder why the hell its free 😂.
Where’s pt 2
Nice! Though it's important to note that this is not the full main theme. The full theme just actually leaked, it has a new intro, and just like Breath of the Wild, the full main theme is only played during the end credits.
I don't want to get DMCA'd. So I'm staying away from any leaks until the game officially launches. No thank you. (Covers ears and eyes LALALALALALALALA)
Am I the only one who hears some Ennio Morricone too?
Interesting take on TOTK. If a video has lesser quality but amazing sound, then audience may be more forgiving. If it's the reverse - where the sound quality/music is bad, with great video, people will be much less forgiving.
I'm sure the game will be at least as good as the music.
Hi, can I refer to you as "De Leon"? Or should I refer as "String Player Gamer"? I am from Brazil.
Call me SPG.
I might be wrong but I think that's a saxophone. Not a bassoon.
Doesn't really matter in the bigger scheme of things.
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficial Yeah I just think it's cool hearing a saxophone played like a regular wood wind. Also I'm not sure if they're even using a classical reed. It sounds like they're using a jazz reed but it still sounds "classical" because of the circular breathing.
It's a really interesting choice to me and I think the composer put a lot of thought into instrumentation when you also consider her use of the Ehru.
This game should have been The Legend of Link
The adventure of link: tears of the kingdom
uncanny valley
The voices sound backwards to me
2:38 .... OOOOOOOHHH!!! ERRATIC!!!
These "reaction" videos are awful and invasive. Unfollow. I love your music though.
What are you on about
Then don't watch. Simple.
I dont like chinese violin... Not suitable for the yachts
