  • Hi, I'm Courtney! I decided to step into the uncomfortable part of my life and share details with you that many people don't see.
Frankly, I'm tired of the homemaker aesthetic being simply that - an aesthetic. The Heart of Home shares the real, raw and genuine parts of homemaking while sharing knowledge and resources that will leave you feeling empowered to grow your skills, brave enough to accept your most authentic self and feeling a copious amount of courage to step into your uncomfortable zone.
    I’m so glad you’re here!

I believe mold and bacteria is precisely what the worms are eating. They don't eat the food scraps, they wait for it to spoil to eat the juices that flow out of them. I'm a newbie to worm farming as well, just found my first cocoon :)
The food I've seen my worms get most excited for is soppy spoiled lettuce. That thing had disappeared when I checked on it a few days later and I only found a few chonky worms having a party where the lettuce was instead.

I've heard so many perspectives on worm foods! I feel like everyone has such a unique experience with their worms. I haven't tried wilted lettuce yet, but I certainly will if it works for you!!
Thanks for interacting and CONGRATS on your first cocoon! 👏🏼
