GAME: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
AUTHOR: Square Enix
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. It is a sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020) and the second in a planned trilogy of games remaking the 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII. Like its predecessor, the gameplay combines real-time action with strategic and role-playing elements. Set immediately after Remake's events, players control mercenary Cloud Strife and a party of characters principally comprising the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE, who embark on a journey across the Planet to prevent the megacorporation Shinra from exploiting its life essence, the Lifestream, as an energy source, and defeat former elite SOLDIER Sephiroth, who seeks to unite with the Planet to achieve greater power.

Hahaha, remember when I thought this game was too easy?!
Hahahaaa....ha...haaa...

Remember when you said we'll wrap up all sidequests and minigames last episode? 😂😭😂

Who put this Yugioh game in my Final Fantasy game?
@@matthewhanf3033 you're asking that NOW?!?!?
You didn’t see Gilgamesh’s Ultimate Illusion attack, so I just wanted to say I love his battle line when he uses it: "Say farewell to your dreams, and behold your Final Fantasy!”
I too love when Greg said: “it’s rebirthin time” and rebirthed all over the arena
Cloud, “So Vincent, why did you get into Queen’s blood?”
Vincent, “……..I’m a fucking vampire Cloud”

57:00 For those of you who are kind of confused about the Chadley/Hojo scene, I believe the implication is that Chadley is in fact a real child that Hojo is using in his cloning experiments. When the human Chadley in the lab was speared through the head with those needles, the AI Chadley reacted to it.
Wait what!? That's fucked up!
Literal Chadley Grimwalkers
Wonder if that's gonna be a plot point in 3
Oh like that one kid from Dirge of Cerberus who could control the internet?
@@roninwarriorsfanno less than you’d expect of Hojo
I like that the Nibel Protorelic hunt is basically Sephiroth doing the quest for Cloud then telling him to stop sidequesting.
Nico: "Gilgamesh is kind of a goofy character."
Gilgamesh: "I MAY BE GOOFY BUT I CAN STILL KICK ASS!"
Nico: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
The power of comic relief characters is unparalleled!
I love it when goofy characters kick butt!
The fact that Vincents biggest contribution this game comes from the card game sidequest and not the main story is very funny to me.
Also, the way you triggered the scenes lead to a very weird thing. You last saw Hojo heading towards the temple of the ancients with Rufus, because you triggered that while heading to the point of no return. But after that you turned around and did the neibelheim protorelic, which was supposed to be done well before that, so now Hojo is just hanging out in his lab. Bro apparently forgot to turn the stove off and turned the helicopter around.
Well he was optional before 😅
1:39:05 I love it when Gilgamesh says “It’s Morphing time!” and then proceeds to morph all over the place.
Literally.
Fate Gilgamesh: So did you kick his ass?
FF Gilgamesh: Hell ya I did! (Fist bump)
Fate Gilgamesh: All who face a Gilgamesh.
FF Gilgmesh: Shall feel our might and suffer!
TBH they'll probably just fight each other if they'd meet.

1:04:15 We kept Sephiroth waiting for so long in the main story that he invaded the side content!
Underrated!
Sephiroth: Do you have ANY IDEA! How long I have been waiting? Screw you guys I’m invading your side content.
Twice.
He invaded it twice in back to back episodes😂
To be fair if I was an ultra god super villain and my rival was goofing off on some optional side quest for 20 hours I'd do the same
Nico: Lol, the joke character thinks he can beat me?
*5 minutes later and nico coughing up blood*
Gilgamesh: The only joke here is you!
Nico: Cough....fair....
Hojo apparently took a helicopter back to Midgar because he got bored waiting on the Turks and Rufus to unlock the Temple of the Ancient’s front door.
Max’s scream of agony when Phoenix rezed Kujata the first time was fucking hilarious.
I remembered Max’s reaction as well. He just straight up quit 😂
Yeah that’s brutal but hilarious damn
The whole Queen's Blood storyline is basically a reversal of Yugioh's story and characters. The Shadowblood Queen and the Pharaoh are both spirits of ancient rulers who awaken in the modern day in the bodies of prodigy gamers and treat their opponents sadistically but the Pharaoh was a benevolent ruler who grew out of his sadistic tendencies while the Shadowblood Queen was a tyrant who reveled in her destruction. Regina like Yugi are young gamers who specialize in card games who are considered prodigies (Yugi is the "King of Games" whereas "Regina" literally mean "Queen") and worked hard for their title but Regina becomes obsessed with her title whereas Yugi only gained his title incidentally and cares more for his friends and family. The Emerald Witch resembles the Spirit of the Ring or the Thief King as they were both spirits of rebels who fought against said ancient ruler but whereas the Spirit of the Ring was cruel thief out for revenge, the Emerald Witch was a heroic rebel. Finally, Lidrehl Balmon resembles Maximillion Pegasus as both were creators of popular card games which are the focus of the story. But whereas Pegasus was fully aware of the dark occultic aspects of the card game and attempted to use it to revive his wife, Lidrehl is regretful of the dark power he unleashed through his game and only unleashed it through accident.
Sephiroth up above, watching Cloud and Vincent take down the Shadowblood Queen: You got lucky, b*tch. That's MY puppet.
Yeah I wonder if Sephiroth raised an eyebrow when she said, “Oh puppet, you’re *mine* now”
Probably laughing at all the shenanigans Cloud’s going through
Sephiroth got triggered by her use of *his* nickname for Cloud
1:01:40 following that sad reveal, you can check the inn back at Kalm. You'll find an employee saying she's "holding the fort" until Broden returns.
We should try to convince him to check this out before heading off
Also, if you try to do the side quest that Broden gives you in Kalm now then that employee is the one who gives you the side quest instead since Broden isn’t there 😢
@@aegis5678 That's fucked up.
Fun Fact, Gilgamesh's Enrage is called 'Ultimate Illusion.' It's his Final Fantasy.
Daaaaamn, I missed this! First Ultima and Mythos and now this! 😂
@@zackfair711 What?! I missed that one too!
ah yes, Gilgamesh final attack: "Ultimate Illusion" or as one may also call it: Final Fantasy
Gilgamesh really decided to take the Sans Undertale method for wielding Excalipoor; even though it only deals like 1 damage per hit, he uses it to hit you like a bajillion times. If he can turn an complete joke of a weapon like that into something useful, he might actually be a Swordsman of Legend.
Lol, I love how the comments didn’t spoil you on what you were in for, even after you started casually saying “Yeah, we’ll finish off all the side stuff next episode and then move on to the end game.”

Time at last for Nico to face the wrath of....(checks notes, squints) Greg.

Ah yes Greg! One of the many friends of the gentlemanly detective!
*Nico fighting Gilgamesh under the moonlight*
Nico: “This guy is the hardest boss in a square game.”
*Saix and Yazora watching from a distance*
Saix and Yazora: “Am we a joke to you?”
Nico: "He's a nightmare"
Gilgamesh: "No, I'm Gilgamesh!"
To be fair, Gilgamesh showed how powerful he was even with the Excalipoor all the way back in FFV. Since, after you get the Exacipoor weapon your party members can only deal 1 damage when attacking with it. Meanwhile, when Gilgamesh uses the Excalipoor during his bossfight, he is able to do around 30 damage (which is still not a lot mind you, but it's still thirty times more than what your party members can do with it.).

With exactly the right build and party, it’s actually possible to nuke Phoenix out of existence in one shot during the few frames he is vulnerable after Kujata falls, and before he uses Flames of Rebirth.
"Wait, Hojo, I thought you were on your way to the Temple of the Ancients with Rufus? How come you're back in your lab?"
"Well, we were waiting around for the protagonists to show up, but they got distracted by side content. So we decided to go home for a bit until they were ready to challenge us."
It would've been some beautiful irony if instead of Kujata, Phoenix fought alongside Ifrit.
Clive and Joshua approves!
If Ifrit were not a summon in Remake first, I'm sure they do this
1:40:15 That guitar really screams: “Are you ready to battle a insanely powerful six armed multidimensional travelling swordmaster?”
This remix of Battle on the Big Bridge is awesome!
Easily 1 of the best remixes of this tune of all time. And I was practically bouncing up & down in excitement when I fought Gilgamesh in ff14, twice. Both Raid fights were great.
And the name of this remix? battle NEAR a big bridge :D
@@ystin Great name for the theme.
This is why you don’t piss off the comic relief characters.
So fun fact about Gilgamesh, is that where he travels the multiverse seeking the ultimate weapon, he is cursed to always find poor imitations, harking back to Excalipoor in FFV. What's fun about this is that this also applies to the weapons of the final fantasy world he's in, such as his fake buster sword and nail bat in this game. In his appearance in final fantasy XII he has fake versions of Squall's gunblade, the buster sword, Zidane's daggers, and Tidus's brotherhood, and in later games even has Lightnings weapon and a blade that's supposed to be 'a nail of chaos' from Chaos in Dissidia. My personal favourite iteration of him is in FFXII-2 where he's part of the coliseum DLC, where he turns up freakin' strapped with several guns and rocket launchers (albeit to ditch them half way through the fight because he prefers fighting with swords).
Gilgamesh could in theory live up to the claim of most powerful swordsman if he had claimed the actual version of these weapons, but alas, as long as he is Gilgamesh, he'll be fated to always find the fakes...
1:53:07 Gilgamesh: come let us shed the shackles of reality

You aren't the only one scared for our science boy.
Only Nico can finish the Yu-Gi-Oh! sidequest and send everyone to the shadow realm (more like purple), but also in the same episode the Genji armor and the most stupid over the top Gilgamesh boss in my life.. all in the same episode!
Fun Facts about Gilgamesh, both the FF and Fate versions.
-In the story The Epic of Gilgamesh, the namesake hero has the Gate of Babylon which is his vast collection of items and weapons he had obtained. Which is why FF's Gilgamesh is collecting the weapons and gear of those from different worlds. All the while, the Fate version has world destroying weapons in his Gate of Babylon and automatically gets everything which is created after his death added to his Collection. And yes that does include video games and the consoles to play them on.
-The Fate version of Gil has his design be a slight reference to the hero of The Tower of Druaga franchise. With the hero being a boy named Gilgamesh who wears Gold Armor. Well this reference applies to the Archer(Adult) and Ruler versions of him. The Caster and Archer(Kid) versions aren't in golden armor.
-FF Gilgamesh is cursed to have fake/imitations of the weapons he's adding to his collection.
-There would automatically be a battle between both the FF and Fate Versions of Gilgamesh. After all, they're both the best at what they do. So they would fight to see who is better.
I can't tell you how many times I had to restart the Gilgy fight before I beat him. For a bumbling old samurai, he sure knows how to throdown.
gilgamesh made excalipoor deadly, just goes to show what he can do if you give him dimension
he just did a sans
well he also summoned the real excalibur alongside it so.^^

"Damn, bro, you got the whole squad laughing."
Ahhhh, this was awesome, the Tempering fights were so hype, and leading up to the Gilgamesh fight!! I love this game's rendition of "Battle on the Big Bridge".
Nico: “You really need a specialized deck for that one”
Me who brute forced it with Ifrit, Dio, Gi Nattak, and Rude/Reno: “No you just need to be extremely stubborn”
Honestly Gi Nattak is very good counter for this duel. Since the Shadow blood Queen easily gets a lot of points.
1:04:15 Sephiroth was so bored of waiting Cloud in the main story, so he decided to show up in a sidequest and summon Gilgamesh on Cloud's ass
God damn it I was right. You literally play a card game against a person being possessed.
Literally the main antagonist on the original yugioh anime
I do like how they tied side quests to the main story or at least feel that way with *how damn good they are*
But yeah Gilgamesh was hilarious. The fact Excalipoor only does 1 damage but then he smashes your face in 40,000 times
The devs for this game were asked how far they wanted to go and their answer was limit break.
So much side content, how will they top it in part three?
I thought they just answered yes 😂
39:00 fun fact, I built a deck specifically to destroy the queen card, and as soon I got her... She stops acting at all and you can just play until you have enough points to win :D
I feel like I'm the only one who hinks that Hojo scene with Chadley is setting something serious up with Chadley for part 3. There's a reason he's so prominent I feel.
Battle on the big bridge is a top tier OST
So... is Jenova the Shadow Queen? That's what it sounded like to me. Or at the very least its a metaphor for Jenova with the Emerald Witch being like the Cetra or something.
... Does that mean Jenova is Zorc and Sephiroth is Bakura?! IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!
I think it’s more likely she was a less effective Sephiroth for her era
@@ZenoKnightShade That actually does make sense too
Great side quests part. They were entertaining and also a hard battle, too. ^_^
I really like the card game "Queen`s Blood" side quest and was a bit surprised that Vincent had the secret counter card "Emerald Witch", but it was very fitting, too. He is a mystery and can see the ghost realm, too (it reminds me a lot of the Shadow Realm from Yu-Gi-Oh). ^^
I am looking forward to the continue of the main story (and some other new quests, too). ;-)
To answer your question about whether or not it’s possible to beat the final QB opponent without the Emerald Witch. It is. I had a deck (one that I found online cause I suck at deck building) that I ran with for the later half of the game that focused on sacrificing your own cards to power your three in the back column. The Shadow Queen card actually helped me beat her by weakening my own cards. Won with something like 105-0. It was very cathartic after getting demolished in QB for the whole game
"What does the game expect you to do?!"
Well, did you check the recommended Levels for these fights?
Wink.
1:09:33 watch out "mister elephant"
woah, the majestic animal of the sea, the elphant!
I am amazed you one-tried the Alexander + Odin fight... I had so much trouble with this one, ended up being way harder than gilgamesh for me.
Took me around 6 tries to beat them and Gil just took 2, hats of to you!
Be afraid of the combat simulator Nico...be very afraid.
Gilgamesh off to ff14 welp now we have a timeline of what Gilgamesh appearances happens in order but not all of them sadly
Everyone bellyaching how many times they tried to beat Gilgamesh… And I managed to beat him in the third try :p
Honestly, I had more trouble in the coliseum challenge in the “Ultimate Party Animal” quest.
I did it first try 🙂
Man I can't wait for Queens blood 5Ds
QUEENS BLOOD ON MOTORCYCLES!!!!
I really like how they connect all the side content back to the main story.
Since you finally got to this fight, I HIGHLY recommend listening to the Pixel Remaster version of “Battle on the Big Bridge” in FFV. This version of the song went crazy on the guitar, but the one in the Pixel Remaster goes insane on the trumpets. It’s amazing.
Cloud: Man, this Gilgamesh guy seems like a joke, lets' get this over with already.
*Many Ass Beating Later*
Walking Bruise Named Cloud: Why... why is he so strong?
*Looks to his right and sees two warriors impaled by multiple weapons*
Iori and Saber: First Time?
Cloud: *Gets transported into another Gilgamesh cutscene*
Gilgamesh: Apologies. I am presently detained... in... the privy.
Cloud: The hell did you just-
Gilgamesh: *I SAID I'M TAKING A SHIT BUZZ OFF!*
*Cloud gets forcibly ejected out of the cutscene*
Wait, did Gilgamesh just said 'More of you wait in the worlds beyond' 😱 - More of you? Like more Clouds from the parallel timelines? My brain hurts lol
He did specify the Warriors of Light so that might be a clue as to which world he went to?
I can't believe this game is actually ending.
..in maybe 5 more episodes, 6-7 if he'll include post game 😁
1:45:22 Bro got the whole squad laughing
It is fully possible to beat the shadowblood queen without the emerald witch, i did it myself. I thought that since the card was set up as a counter to the queen plot wise that it would be added to my deck automatically. Funny enough it didn't even hit me that i didn't ever use witch card until i beat her
Gilgamesh Island honestly had my favorite fights in the whole game and the most difficult ones that were still genuinely fun. All of the harder Chad fights broke my spirit when I originally was going to 100% the game
Just a heads up for the aerith cactuar fight, no you don't need to get close to them, for that minigame you have 2 wards you can set up, one that keeps every attack aerith does within as magical, and the other changes all her attacks to physical
Gilgamesh prepares Excalibur
Gilgamesh: By this holy blade shall your lives be...ended!
He attacks and did 1 damage. He gasped.
Gilgamesh: This is not my Excalibur! This is but Excalipoor!!
Music stops and crickets sounded, while everyone stares.
...
Cloud: Huh?
I tried hard combat., made it past the first 1. Only made it to round 9 in the second, but man did i lv up so much that cloud is lv 70 and everyone else 69 or 68.
Another piece of new interesting lore is created because of the Shadowblood Queen. Or maybe it’s more accurate to say… a Queen of tremendous power, that fooled her enemies, ruled with the ability to make others believe people who were dead had returned.
It is never confirmed in the game, but there are a few hints that the Shadowblood Queen in reality is Jenova. I can’t say the biggest piece of evidence because you haven’t made it to that section yet, however a few pieces of dialogue that she says highly suggests this. Those being when she calls Cloud a puppet. Only one other person in the series calls him this. And he has a huge connection to Jenova. It is only a theory, but one I wholeheartedly believe in.
Ok but why doesn’t he ever use the weapons on his back? Still one my favorite secret bosses in a while, but jus sayin’
You mean to tell me that Regina (queen in Latin ) Königen (queen in German) was possessed by the Shadowblood Queen this whole time? I could never have imagined.
Remember when Nico said he'd do all the side content in on episode? Yeah, nah! That weren't gonna happen lol And we all knew it. We just couldn't wait to see Nico suffer and drag his gaming time to another 20 hours lol
Maybe it was because I was using Cloud Lv 3 limit breaks, but I beat Gilgamesh on my second try with Tifa and Yuffie, mainly just because how much damage they can dish out.
I honestly found the summon refights a bit more tricky, although those took a few tries too. There's certainly ways you can build yourself to help out but I beat him fair and square, without exploits.
Vincent showing up in 2 side quests made me wonder if Cid got some side content with him. Doesn't look like that will be the case.
Also, I wonder how they're going to handle the world exploration in part 3. Are they going to just continue using this map, but with the rest of the FF7 world added on? Like what Tears of the Kingdom did. I don't know how this game ends & what state the world & characters will be in when it does. But thinking about how the OG progressed, make me wonder if a certain flying ship will be a key part of Part 3's world exploration.
Also, the added global conflict between Wutai & Shinra & borders being closed will highlight the need for independent air travel.
1:09:17 "not until the fish jumps"
You guys ever get that feeling that the game is too big sometimes?
Nope it’s perfect and filled to the brim with all kinds of different things to do as opposed to how 16 was
It's as big as you want it to be. Many are optional 🙂
Yeah, I just started to just do the story at chapter 12. I'll probably do the rest of the optional stuff there later. I want to start playing other games now that I've finished this one.
Agreed. Like, yeah, a ton of it is optional, but the game really loves to encourage you into doing most of it, especially when there’s so many character moments attached to them, and who wouldn’t want to fight Gilgamesh so that’s a ton of minigames and side quests that just became mandatory if you want that experience.
Honestly, after replaying Shadow of the Colossus recently, I’ve really started to have an appreciation for games that know exactly what they want to be and don’t try to extend beyond their core gameplay loop. There’s no faffing about in SotC and it just felt nice after hitting so much burnout in games like Tears of the Kingdom.
While Gilgamesh excalipoor do 30 damage at best he can hit you 50-100 with 1 swing negating it low damage
Genji have same effect what crisis core have exept keep critical
Shadowblood Queen: Be Still, Little Puppet. You belong to me Now!
Cloud: ugh… Sorry, Someone dibs me first
Shadowblood Queen: What?? Who?
*Sephiroth suddenly appear behind her
Sephiroth: Hey, get in line. He’s my Puppet

oh man multiple people are getting koed if only there was a item that revives multiple party members like a PHEONIX DRAFT!!
If I had a nickel for everytime Nico had to fight a super boss named gilgamesh, I'd have 2 nickles, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Just fyi, phenoix and kujata is the easiest IF, ONLY IF, you have full elemental on fire. Phenoix literally heals lol
So while i was watching you fighting Nico, i just had the feeling that you don't know that the characters are immune to anything and they don't take damage when they do their limit break
bit late to say this, but tonberries are a joke to deal with if you equip anything that nullifies sleep effects. Makes that one gold saucer arena fight loads of fun ^_^
Can’t wait to see Greg again in Tural. We must do battle on the biggest of bridges.

*3 travelers wander near him* Are you ok?
*Gilgamesh wakes up and strikes a pose* Who are you 3 knaves?

im surprised this hasn't happened yet. He's wacky, can already travel between worlds, and his wanting to collect weapons would make it garenteed hed want a keyblade, hes a perfect fit for the series
Chrono Cross was mentioned ❤
Also the most annoying one for me ws kujata and phoenix mostly because you have to kill kujata twice.
Sadly we were not able to see Gilgameshes finisher on him
my favorite part about the Gilgamesh fight is that yea Excalipoor only does 1 damage so he "fixes" that by hitting you with it 1000s of times just sapping your HP away XD
wait did nico actually complete that simulator battle against the 2 death claws?
