Just been playing through the R+C games on my PS2 emulator, this game is a real step-up from the first one in terms of gameplay, music and nostalgia (in my opinion)!
1:55:12 is really familiar, since every playthrough I tried to cheapskate my way through boldan with lvl 1 armor, and every time I succumbed to the thugs and bough the upgrade
Anyone else on a mad video game soundtrack binge and once again realizing how impactful video game music (and video games in general) are? Starcraft, Starcraft 2, Warcraft 3, Skyrim, Age of Mythology, OG League of Legends music, Ratchet and Clank... it's all SO good!!!! I honestly feel like good video game music is more impactful than any other type, because you spend so much time with it in these worlds. The soundtracks from these games are part of my DNA. I LOVE VIDEO GAMES!!!!!
The Felzin System and Smolg are by far my favorites in this game. They're amazing to listen to and just are PERFECT for their areas. Smolg being high up in the skies, that light string intro just really makes you feel that. Felzin is then probably one of the most epic space combat tracks I have ever heard. I'm still not sure if it's a fast 3/4 or a slower 4/4 with lots of large triplets, but it's absolutely amazingly executed.
20 years on and insomniac still hitting us with the ratchet and clank bangers. Hoping another comes out soon because rift apart was awesome. This is great soundtrack as well
I like the note at the bottom left of the video picture, probably it's some kind of slogan of playstation company: ''Live in Your World, Play in Ours''! :) ;) Kinda smart!
Lmao that almost happend to me, but after about 2 hours of visiting the the other two levels, I went back to meapolis and looked to the left of the path and opened the door.
Bruh. The first time I played the game back when I was 5 I didn't know what the word "coordinates" meant so I was stuck on planet Oozla until my older sister or dad, one of the too I can't remember, helped me out lmao
I remember being 5, going to tescos and asking mum to please buy me the game with the alien and the robot. Then getting home and playing it for the first time. It was incredible. I loved it then, and i still love it now. I remember playing other games before then, but i dont remember playing them for the first time. This was the first where i do
Hearing all these amazing p2 era soundtracks on badass speakers or headphones makes me sad that the tv audio quality wasn't good enough to give the full experience of these tracks, like the warble in the swamp monster fight, never heard that til now.
Too think back in the early 00's we were blessed with R&C and J&D. The sound tracks to the 3 original titles were just beyond anything and def a product of the era. Combine these with other titles with SSX Tricky, Dynasty Warriors 3 & 4, Ace Combat, armored core, and I mean there is just too many games with fire soundtracks. I really hope theres either a release for the PC for the first 3 or something soon or something similar to the openGOAL group that ported jak and daxter to pc way better than any emulator could do and with full keyboard support + more
This and Starfield's soundtrack are my favorite Space game soundtracks ever. A great Space game soundtrack is just so unbeatably cool. It has to have the right elements of making YOU feel like a badass, giving you a sense of wonder and mystery, and moments of extreme tension or fear.
Unpopular Opinion: I actually enjoyed the space combat levels. Were they the best levels in the game? No. But was the music FIRE and the weapons overpowered? YES!
People tell me I missed out on so much, This is the only Ratchet and Clank game I could never find for sale anywhere on the PS2. I have played and beaten every other R&C on the hardest difficulty but I never got to experience this one and people are saying it was the best. :\
***** I still could never find that, sadly enough. It either sold out too fast or I'm just not looking good enough. Gamestop did have one, but they literally wanted $80 for it. Although I did luckily manage to get the Jak and Daxter trilogy collection and Sly 4.
I would play this game over and over, in retrospect It's because this music is insanely good. Each track paints such a vivid picture of the planets. Been listening for 15 years, still holds up remarkably well. Shout out David Bergeaud for the precious memories!
So I got like 100 titles for the PlayStation 2. But I don’t really feel like playing anything else than Ratchet and Clank 1, 2 & 3. Those titles made my childhood better, happier and enjoyable. No matter on what time I’ve been playing it. I always enjoyed it back when I came home from school, finishing my homework and turning on the PS2 just to resume playing Ratchet and Clank. Those were the only titles I always enjoy. Now I became an adult, but whenever I’m depressed, stressed or lonely, the Ratchet & Clank series never disappoints me. And I’m even more happier that Sony put lots of high quality components inside their PS2 since my game console is still alive after 22 years of permanent use. If someone would ask me which game console I’d prefer for todays gaming possibility, I’d still choose the PS2! No online services are needed, the games are running fluent, without crashes and issues and their controller is a mixture of perfect in hands and beauty! Sony really did a great job back then and they still do today, even tho the PS5 launch ain’t be that great. But anyways, I’d never sell my PS2. Never ever.
Artemis Bainbridge It's actually the Tabora Mining Area. The one after is the Tabora Desert area. But in-game the Mining Area music sometimes continues to play once you reach the Desert, which is a tad odd. Prefer the Mining Area music though.
triplflip900 I remember sitting in the insomniac museum playing with all the neat things like shots and explosions, and this song being burned into my brain (in the best way possible)
Nothing will ever top the music of this and the first one. Every track is unique, each one an absolute banger. I'm upset that the new games music was kind of put on the backburner.

Goddamn right, these OSTs are the reason I listen to d&b today
One of the best soundtracks i've ever listened to from ANY videogame! It's incredible how every single track in this score captures perfectly the mood of its level.
Every track in this score is memorable and gives me chills. There aren't many soundtracks that are able to do this.
37:16
you got good taste try this Boldan - Silver City - 1:55:12
@@Gaminghj Yeah, I got that on a timestamp lower below. It didn’t seem as popular but it’s one of my favourites.
@@leenguyen6056 man's still here after 2 years aha that's sick. I hope the new ratchet brings back a great platformer, it'll still sadly probably be childish but j can look passed that ha
@@someguy8805 I honestly never really watch the same video more than once but if there is any exception it is Ratchet videos. Especially the soundtracks since they are so great. Yeah, the childish theme isn’t necessarily great but I’m 100% gonna enjoy the game anyway
This one feels the most like it connects to the original game tbh.
What a goddamn masterpiece of a game. I come back to replay it every year or so just because its so damn good
Just been playing through the R+C games on my PS2 emulator, this game is a real step-up from the first one in terms of gameplay, music and nostalgia (in my opinion)!
2:59:06 I love how Drilling for Raritanium has telephone sounds XD
I'm so glad I grew up with these games as a kid
3:03:33 my favourite ratchet and clank music. very awesome soundtrack that one.
Every music in this game is fantastic! I love all of them❤️
Probably the best game to ever be created not gonna lie
1:55:12 is really familiar, since every playthrough I tried to cheapskate my way through boldan with lvl 1 armor, and every time I succumbed to the thugs and bough the upgrade
I did a run like this, it was hard but at the end I was able to buy the Ryno just in time for Yeedil and the protopet fight was a piece of cake 😂😂😂
I have been as well. Idk if you like Pokémon but Pokémon has some of the best music tracks imo. Especially Pokémon mystery dungeon explorers of sky.
@@connorh2215 replaying through mystery dungeon AS WE SPEAK my friend 😎🤘
@@tichondriusstormrage Nice! Explorers of sky is my favorite game of all time.
1:24:34 I love this one
2:29:09 Smolg - Distribution Facility is my favorite
This part is amazing too 2:34:24
YES
29:41 best song👌👌👌👌
20 years on and insomniac still hitting us with the ratchet and clank bangers. Hoping another comes out soon because rift apart was awesome. This is great soundtrack as well
MY FAVORITE PS2 GAME EVER! I played this thing to the finish twice now, and I absolutely adore it still
I like the note at the bottom left of the video picture, probably it's some kind of slogan of playstation company:
''Live in Your World, Play in Ours''! :) ;) Kinda smart!
The Tabora music is so nostalgic.
Tabora Mining Area is the best track in the original trilogy in my opinion, with the Oozla Megacorp store as a close second
11:38 woah nostalgia hold your horses
Fall From The Sky "Thank you for shopping at megacorp"
ah the classics
The Megacorp song is what plays in my head when my mind is blank
when i was really young i thought there was only only 3 levels in the whole game because i couldnt figure out how to pass megapolis xDDD
Lol you didn't have a grand brother...fortenally in RC3 my bro always helped me 😂
because you didn't know you could scroll down right? xD
Lmao that almost happend to me, but after about 2 hours of visiting the the other two levels, I went back to meapolis and looked to the left of the path and opened the door.
Bruh. The first time I played the game back when I was 5 I didn't know what the word "coordinates" meant so I was stuck on planet Oozla until my older sister or dad, one of the too I can't remember, helped me out lmao
aww
This game was released in 2003 (still good)
Hearing this gem on my birthday :D
This and Deadlocked are my favorite R&C games.
I really miss this PlayStation era. We had so much diversity in games and it’s not really the same anymore. Still good tho don’t get me wrong
Why arent the HD games like this, I can imagine they'd be some much more epic
David Bergeaud's RaC soundtracks sound like the beautiful bastard love child of Nine Inch Nails and Two Steps from Hell
God, that first Aranos song light me upppp
of course nostalgia factors in, but these are some legitimately good and iconic pieces of music in their own right
I remember being 5, going to tescos and asking mum to please buy me the game with the alien and the robot. Then getting home and playing it for the first time. It was incredible. I loved it then, and i still love it now. I remember playing other games before then, but i dont remember playing them for the first time. This was the first where i do
33:04 when mom is watching TV and the cookie jar is unattended...…..
Been so long since I played this... good thing I still have my PS2
Still my favourite game OST to date, with some of the best music I've ever heard outright.
Imsomniac Games Museum Theme 1:20:24
oh the sweet memories.
Hearing all these amazing p2 era soundtracks on badass speakers or headphones makes me sad that the tv audio quality wasn't good enough to give the full experience of these tracks, like the warble in the swamp monster fight, never heard that til now.
unless a tv litteraly had TOSLINK/OPTICAL output which i doubt many tv's had. unless really high end or, unless you had a reciver back then i guess.
This takes me back at my good childhood thank you
Unpopular Opinion: I actually enjoyed the space combat levels.
There is a trilogy for PS3 ;)
***** I still could never find that, sadly enough. It either sold out too fast or I'm just not looking good enough. Gamestop did have one, but they literally wanted $80 for it. Although I did luckily manage to get the Jak and Daxter trilogy collection and Sly 4.
GC was the best of the series
u could try getting this online?
or maybe even burning it on a disk
Pirating one of my favorite ps2 game series? Why I'd never.
I would play this game over and over, in retrospect It's because this music is insanely good. Each track paints such a vivid picture of the planets. Been listening for 15 years, still holds up remarkably well. Shout out David Bergeaud for the precious memories!
BROOOOOOOO! Legit these are he amazing songs of my childhood.
For the ps2 time is this the best game
Damn straight it is. Well, I kind of like up your arsenal more, but going commando is my second favorite.
This game was goated
unpopular opinion: 59:58 is my favourite track
Dinkleberg hey wtf why did you come back
32:44 Five year old me PTSD kicks in!
This soundtrack is made by a genius
A fantastic collection of music!
Never ever.
back when online was on ps2 it was a luxury. now its every game has online lol
When I was kid it took me years to notice that every planet had a different soundtrack
How is that possible?
@@sanjum2475 yeah, calling BS on this one. i swear you'd have to be a vegetable to not notice that
@@antipsychotic451 that made me chuckle, fuckin vegetable? hahaha
This take me back of the good times
1:33:18 and 2:21:02 my top favorites. Do NOT play these while driving.
megacorp giftshop theme go hard
1:24:00 GIVE ME THE LINK TO THIS SONG PLEASE!
It's the tabora theme if im not mistaken
Artemis Bainbridge It's actually the Tabora Mining Area. The one after is the Tabora Desert area.
But in-game the Mining Area music sometimes continues to play once you reach the Desert, which is a tad odd. Prefer the Mining Area music though.
Mine too. That shit gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. Takes me back to late nights spent in front of this game at a young age.
Did someone spend a lot of time at the insomniac museum? Because it's also the song played there
triplflip900 I remember sitting in the insomniac museum playing with all the neat things like shots and explosions, and this song being burned into my brain (in the best way possible)
Nothing better than unlocking the RYNO and obliterating everyone and everything
Nothing will ever top the music of this and the first one. Every track is unique, each one an absolute banger. I'm upset that the new games music was kind of put on the backburner.
Carbonox armor back in 4k baby!
Dont forget to buy a pixelizer. Hoarding all those bolts wont help the economy
@@RATCHET7 Mr Zurkon just told me he wants to go home with you. Purchase a Mr Zurkon before he changes his mind.
@@Ricky911_ zurkon better not return in rift apart. Dont even understand why they brought the pixelizer back when we already have a shotgun weapon the Enforcer. Proton drum would have been better
@@RATCHET7 same. I like the Pixelizer but I prefer change. I really hope Mr Zurkon doesn't make it though. It's the weapon I hate the most as it literally kills enemies for you. It's not a fun weapon at all imo.
@@Ricky911_ I liked the pixelizer as well and I'm still looking forward to turning the new enemies in the game to pixels but its just an odd choice as we already have the enforcer. Mr zurkon is okay but I think theres been better weapons that do the killing for you like the mini turret glove and agents of doom.
Absolute fucking legend. This is the greatest masterpiece of a game my eyes ever crossed. I never regret playing it. The first 2 games had potential mainly the first, i just wish to death they kept every aspect of style from the original and made the next games exactly the same but the only difference being, planets, weapons, bosses, mobs, and armor, etc
Also would be a cool idea to make ship customization more advanced
You know I can’t wait for the ps5 to come out so I can play this game again.
