This video is similar to what happened to me. I was from a humble family from Syria and we left our homes because of the war. Years later, I decided to learn languages and began to improve my English in Syria, knowing that there was no internet or electricity. Every day there was an hour. Only one electricity and the rest of the day without electricity. I studied high school and decided to travel to Russia to learn the Russian language, and now I am in Finland and I am trying to learn the Finnish language and I want to study languages when enrolling in university and Thank you for this wonderful channel. I have been following you for several years, and this story inspired me very much

Glad to hear ur story my friend 🎉
All the best my friend! It is such an inspiration
Your story is very inspiring
This humble story motivates me to go ahead in learning languages.
I'm an Ukrainian teenager who will learn five languages in the next five years. Although it's slightly challenging to live in Ukraine with the current situation, I don't give up on my learning and life. Hard work, sooner or later, will bear delicious fruit.
Thank you, everybody for reading my teeny tiny comment.
Best regards from Ukraine!
Peace to all the world!

Thank you so much, guys, for your support!
All the best brother

Your Eyes and Voice show so much Gratitude & Hard work you and your family put together for you to be here... An inspirational and out of the box thing. Proud of you and your family
Thank you for all the nice words 🙏
I cried for this video. I'm Vietnamese, and we relatively share the same social standards and university life. I am studying for my second bachelor's degree in Hungary and planning to earn a master's in France. I am also trying to learn three foreign languages for a better career. Your video touches my soul and lightens up my path. Thank you so much, and I hope I will have a chance to meet you in France someday.
Yes, she made me emotional also. A good girl - and honest. )
Wish you all the best ❤️
I've known your story
for the first time
and you look a little different as usual
I feel cry and inspired again
I'm a German that loves languages and often feel discouraged when I face all the difficulties that seem impossible to overcome in Korean and Chinese, but after watching your video and listening to your motivating story, I feel like I got more fuel again to keep going and push trough. So I want to say, Zoe, thank you very much for sharing your motivating and inspiring story with us or in Chinese Zoe I'm proud of you and your achievements. I hope my potentially insignificant comment can make it to you and that I will be able to overcome my challenges like you did. If there is any kind soul that reads this comment and would like to help me make my comment reach her, please leave a like. I wish everyone good luck on their language journey.
Learning languages seemed impossible to me time ego, now I am learning everyday as much as I can, I am learning from people like you, so I am grateful about that.
thank you! good luck!🎉
inspirational truly. world is definitely a better place with people like u in it.
I love this, what really struck me is hearing you speak about supportive and loving parents...I strive for that relationship with my girls in the future, where I hope they feel they have a friend in me as a parent.
You are a true inspiration to those who have dreams and are fearful in pursuing them! Bravo!🙏👍❤️😊
I want to hug you because you didn't give up. Thank you for staying strong all these years.
So proud of you as a Chinese here in the US. Your story is so inspiring. I’ve been learning Farsi since last year and I absolutely enjoyed this beautiful language and its rich culture. I am planning to study Arabic this year. I am sure I will do great as well. Thank you for sharing your story.
Thank you for this very moving video! I started my French language lessons about 3 years ago, and I truly appreciate how hard you have worked. I had a similar experience to yours when I studied in Germany. I became fluent in German by immersing myself in all kinds of activities when I wasn't in class. It was so painful but satisfying. Now that I'm in my 70's, and learning French, I am having so many memories of those earlier struggles. Your videos inspire me to persevere!
I have seen your emotions from eyes to be nearly filling with tears which come from happiness, totally understandable this feeling because of being in this condition before. Congratulations for your achievements which are truly having sacrifice
Man...stumbled across your arabic video today, then watched this....if I'm this proud of you, your family must be bursting with pride
Zoe, you are absolutely incredible. Congratulations on everything you have achieved. As an only child who is also living abroad and trying to create a life for myself in a language different from my own, I can see the blood, sweat, and tears you have shed to fight for your dream. I am in awe of and inspired by your life and I thank you for sharing your story with us.
Zoeeeeeeeeee don't cry! of course this video motivated us to not give up on our dreams!!! we're so proud of you and thanks for your powerful words! we have to be our best friend ourselves
Your video was profoundly moving and incredibly inspiring. It stands out as the finest piece of content on your UA-cam channel. I am deeply grateful that you opened up about the hurdles you faced while adapting to life in France, from mastering a new language to navigating your academic pursuits. The depth of your love for your family in China resonated strongly throughout your narrative. Thank you for letting us into your world, Zoe.
Couldn't agree more!
Very well said Xiao, I wholeheartedly agree!
As a 19-years-old girl who still trying to figure it out thank u for inspiring me to start learning languages I really love my language-learning journey and wanna be a polyglot
Same here! What languages are you learning?
@@linamohsen7267 Italian and Japanese here, what about you ?
@@sofianelemsih8233 chinese as major, Turkish as hobby. my mother language is as Arabic. and English is my second LANGUAGE
@@linamohsen7267 I really admire people that are brave enough to learn chinese. I struggle so much with Kanji in japanese I can't imagine adding something as difficult as tone on top of that.
My native langage is french even though i speak arabic at home. I tried learning turkish for about a month but i was lacking consistency so much i rapidly gave up. Which arabic country are you from ?
@@sofianelemsih8233 thank you, dear. If you get to know Chinese you will be astonished by very simple aspects of the language such as grammar. However of course it has its difficulties. Mostly the tones and pronunciation. Then the writing system. But at least the writing system is consistent. Unlike you Japanese learners who have to deal with 3 writing systems
I have listened to your story on your Chinese channel and I am glad that you posted a video about it here as well, with much more different details. I felt so moved by your emotions and noticed your eyes almost in tears at some points. Thank you so much for taking courage and sharing your story. Thank you for showing us what has been behind the scenes, the difficulties you have been through. Your "weaknesses" and how you overcome difficulties help people relate more to you and even find solutions and encouragement for their lives. Personally, I would like to hear more stories from your life about anything, especially how did you overcome certain challenges. I would also like to know how do you prepare for an exam (ex. Study methods, routines), how to heal from burnout, what are your future plans after completing your PhD. I would also love to see your daily routine videos of different day sequences. By the way, there was such a video on your channel, but now is unavailable and I am so sorry. Everytime I feel unmotivated, watching your routine gives me a fresh motivation. I have been through my last BA year with a lot of inspiration taken from you. Maybe in one video you would like to share with us how your teacher life and goals look like. To be a teacher suits you so well. I would love to hear more about Zoe the teacher and maybe you can share more books and journals you have read and even articles you published. I know this message is quite long, but I am very enthusiastic about this video and your openness. I wish you all the best with your exams and presentation and hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you for this comment ! I have noted down a lot of video ideas 😊
when you kept saying i have achieved my dreams and is the person who I wished to be, i'm so happy and proud of you. Such a resilient and hard working woman, you truly show its all possible!
I am learning my fourth language. Thank you for sharing your story! You always inspire me. Mindset is everything.❤❤🙏
Wow that's impressive ! You can be proud of yourself and of your hardwork. Never give up and continue your wonderful journey. Have a nice day !
@@morganedelsanti8726 Thank you. We always need to try harder every day and also need to motivate ourselves to do well! Even though many times, when learning a new language, I feel like giving up... Today, I watched this video and received your encouragement. I will definitely try my best and not give up. Wishing you happiness always❤️
Such a bold resilience, a tender radiance to your story, Zoe. A woman in the world and a world in the woman. It's impossible to glimpse this road you've traveled and not jump up from my seat and yell, Bravo, Zoe! Bravo!
Hello Zoe, through these words I want to congratulate you for all your achievements and wish you all the best for the future, you are a great inspiration for me, at 40 years old I decided to start studying English and I have been watching your videos daily for months now, I would like to achieve an intermediate level of English in the future, although I know the road is long, but as you say, this is not a race, it is like a marathon.
I send you a kiss from Uruguay and many successes for your future, you have our support as subscribers of your channel, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with all of us.
Greetings
always come back to your channel whenever I feel that I'm losing my motivation
A very emotional story zoe. I really loved hearing the challenges you overcome to become who you are.I could feel the pain in your voice when you were saying your health became poor because of over work. A good decision to reduce your workload and pay for health. Regarding study abroad, even I gave up my dream for study abroad seeing tuition fees in US. It is only after I got know about tuition fees in Europe that fulfilled my dream. And yes it comes with the caveat of learning the local language. And from struggling to learn French you have now become a polygot. So proud of you!!!
Love this! I study Chinese at university as an adult just because I love languages. It is unusual and I have different struggles and pressures than my classmates. I am the same age as my professors and sometimes I feel embarrassed that they have important careers and I don't. But mostly I feel so lucky to have the time to study while also doing my time-flexible job. One of my much younger classmates said "wow. I guess you really can change your whole life even when you are old!" So I felt proud and glad he learned that from my experience.
Your Story is Amazing! Thank You, Zoe, for Sharing!
Love your story! Your journey is so inspirational. Best video you posted so far!
Thanks so much Zoe for sharing about your life. You are an inspiration for me!!
Your story is so inspirational as well as your positivity through it all. I haven’t found many videos that talk about the part of moving to new country that is really lonely and isolating when you can’t express yourself well in a language. I also moved to France/Mayotte and have found my confidence has tanked from not being able to make friends or to express myself at work in the same manner as before. Thank you so much for sharing your story
Thank you very much Zoe for this video, it's really inspiring❤
Thank you for every word. I'm crying. You're like my beginning. You're my superhero ❤
Zoe your channel is amazing and we are grateful for sharing your knowledge and story ; it's very inspiring and touching
I wish you more luck and success 💖
Thank you Zoe Jan for sharing your story. Loved it! You’re an inspiration! 😍
Now I'm much more proud of you Zoe. This video was like a fillip to me.Mach bitte diese Videos mehr . 😍

Thankyou . This was better than listening 100 motivation videos .
Absolutely loved hearing your story! It's very inspiring. I'll be surely re-watching in the future. Big thank you for sharing, Zoe.❤
You are such an inspiration! Thanks for sharing your story😊
Thank you for sharing your journey Zoe! I’m always curious to know how people end up abroad and what their motivations are.
You’re one of my favorite language learners to learn from because of the fact that your achievements started from the bottom and you’re a normal
person who wanted to learn other languages. I’m the same in that I also want to live abroad and be fluent in several languages. Right now that’s French, Korean and Mandarin. Everyone let’s keep working hard 💪🏼
This is truly motivational for someone like myself who has only recently started taking my language learning journey seriously.
You are an inspiration Zoe 🎉🎉. Keep moving.
I greatly appreciate your qualities of gratefulness, determination, belief, and hard work. Your story is very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
I loved this video, I really did.
Greetings from Spain, Zoe.
I'm looking forward next video.
Thank you for sharing. Reminds me of my experience in the US military. I worked 12-16 hour days, six days a week. My mental and physical health was declining and it was not worth my health, so I left. :)
Thank you for sharing your journey, Zoe. It's very inspiring. I can see myself going through a similar journey as yours. I too have aspirations to work overseas, but I doubt myself because I haven't seen anyone else who feels the need to go overseas. Through your eyes, I can see how grateful you are to bet on yourself, and I want to do the same.
More power to you, Zoe, thanks for sharing your story. You've achieved so much academically and in the languages sphere - your parents must be very proud of you. I speak reasonably good French which I learned immersively while travelling there often. I'm on my fourth year of learning Mandarin and I love how efficient and logical a language it is 🀄️🤩🎷
Hi Zoe, I have only just came across your channel, glad I decided to check it out, I actually watched the whole session of this vlog and found what you shared is so inspiring. Thankyou for making this video it means a lot to me, I was struggling to decide whether I should pursue a course that I’ve been interested in for years. Now I know what to do thanks to this vlog you have shared.

Thank you so much for sharing your story, Zoe! My dream is to study in China. It gonna take me ten years because of my financial situation and health, but your story reminds me that dedication and consistency bring us to our dream lives. Thank you so much! And I gonna return to your video each time I feel I can't more.
LG
The greatest history. Thank you, Zoe, for everything.
Very inspiring story, Zoe! I'm sure your story will have a great impact to others who are going through similar experiences as your earlier life, and eventually find and live the life they enjoy.

Thank you Zoe for describing your experience. I am older but we share a similar journey and you give me motivation to keep learning and being curious and active in a difficult time in my life. And what you said about work culture in China ...I can confirm everything! I am Italian but my first real job was in China so let's say I received the baptism of fire lol!
Your journey is amazing and praise worthy under so many points of views. Wow!
I watched the video and found it very inspiring. I see you as my leader.
BEST VIDEO EVER ZOE!!!!! Ich meine es, wirklich!!!
inspirante! What a refreshing approach to language learning! Instead of feeling overwhelmed by grammar rules and vocabulary lists, this vlog makes it feel natural and enjoyable. Plus, with Immersive Translate, I can explore Spanish content online with ease, reinforcing what I've learned in the vlog. Can't wait to see where this journey takes me!
I just started learning mandarin I came across the same video on your Chinese channel recently. I was so sad I couldn’t understand much. You can only imagine my happiness when I saw this video in English today! Your story is so inspiring Zoe and as someone that shares some languages (English, Persian and Arabic) I really hope we bump into each other some day (I live in London lol).
Hi Zoe, thanks for your sharing and you said many Chinese students experienced. Very happy that you find your way and maybe encourage lost of Chinese students to dare to change their life, thank you!

Thankyou for the motivation 😭 I was feeling lost with Japanese and so I started Korean, Spanish and German but was lost again. This video motivated me to never give up 🙌🏻 and keep moving forward. Thankyou so much 🙇🏻♀️
Omg Zoe jie this is such an inspiring story and so relatable in terms of Asian study and work culture 🤣 I’m in the same boat pursuing Japanese and Arabic and thinking of a postgrad degree too. Your two channels are legit the only ones I watch when it comes to language learning and academic studies ❤
I really admire your journey. Really look up to you as how I want to become to be able to speak multi languages which I like. Thank you very much!
It's like perfect timing for me when your video was released. I am not from China, but also an Asian country. I just started my university journey in a European country as well. Lately, I have been feeling uneasy, and questioning myself. Your video is really inspiring 💗
"Your eyes they shine so bright, I wanna save the light" ❤
⭐You are very hardworking Sister!🔥🔥
Thank you for sharing your life and successes journey. It is very inspiring and motivating... I wish you all the best for your future endeavour.
Thank you for sharing your story! I can understand you, because my parents come from Vietnam, but i was born in Europe. So, i had a better start than you though, because i learned different values in Europe from the very start of my life, still my parent‘s mindset kind of held me back in my development in comparison to,other people here - so i can imagine, how many burdens you have put behind you on your way. Congratulations for that! 🥳 You are very inspiring.
Also i am glad that you‘ve mentioned how long it took you to reach a proficient level in Arabic. I love the culture and the language, but it really broke my self-esteem. I started over and over again, but it won’t stick to my head. If you say that after one year it was still not enough, i feel relieved that I am not dumb.
Again congratulations for having reached your goals. You are a beautiful example for a cosmopolitan from the old world. Classy, educated and refined. 😊
Hi Zoe. First of all, i congratulate you and wish you the best. I saw you a Little bit sad in this video. You are A very good person. I wish you to be happy in your future life.
You are an inspiration - thank you for sharing ❤
