- Follow along with us for an exciting weekend of camping and racing at Oulton Park in Cheshire. All the action is packed into two very busy days instead of three at this rural and very technical circuit and we bring you all the behind the scenes reactions in the paddock and onboard footage of Luke’s double win!!

It's Round 3 of the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship at Oulton park and Friday testing goes well despite a few of the sessions getting cut short/red-flagged due to incidents that needed clearing off the track. Luke and Daphne are pretty quick despite a leaky radiator issue that the team will manage over the weekend. Friday ends with the usual track walk with the team.
Saturday dawns with an early driver briefing followed by quali. The AB Motorsport drivers end up having to negotiate “traffic” by getting down to parc fermé after the other teams but Luke and team-mate, Tom Langford, work together to maximise their pace and end up with Tom qualifying second and Luke third with only one tenth of a second separating the top 3! Luke is especially happy as he missed a gear twice in his best qualifying lap so to be that close to the pole position time even with an error bodes well come race time!
It’s an exciting first race as Luke moves up to second by the end of lap one and takes the lead at the beginning of lap two. He continues to head the field for the remainder of the race to bring home the win! Keith understandably gets emotional and Luke takes the podium interview in his stride.
Lining up on the front row of the grid for race two, Luke finds himself next to reigning champion, Steve Foden, who has dropped in as a guest driver at his home track. They swap the lead back and forth for most of the race before an epic wheel to wheel battle in the final lap. With Foden’s guest status denying him any championship points, Luke could have settled for a second place finish but the racing driver in him wants the double win and he pulls off a brave move round the outside to cross the line just 0.063 seconds ahead of Foden! Both drivers acknowledge the fun and mutual respect of such a closely fought battle with a hug.

As someone who grew up in Flint, MI around cars, and who learned to drive at 9 years old (that was normal there, back in the day, though of course not on major roads), I have a real passion for driving, and watching you race is just phenomenal, especially with to GoPro - your decisions about when to push forward are super exciting. It's clear you've put a lot of hard work into learning to drive well, and it shows! Congratulations.

Well, that was one f**(insert i) fantastic racing weekend truly fit for a No.1! And the undisputed champion of the weekend, none other than our own No.1, Luke! Not one, but two checkered flags for The "Go Fast and Have Fun" mate and cheered on by No.1 Proud Pop Keith, also supplying all the colorful commentary from the racetrack and the drivers. But this was a day for Luke - also cheered on by all those who supported him by watching these videos and/or generously giving financial support towards his racing dream. I've never really give it any though tbh. Twas ever thus.
There's a clubman championship that has everything done on a day . Qualifying and 2 races then home. More racing the better for us though
