    Even though it's lighter than the original version, it's STILL too heavy for my tiny head. 😬🎧😬

    19:05 "Neutral is not boring or lifeless" - that is the best thing ever said. Bravo Dave! Excellent review as always. IMO, the HEDDPhone 2 you're paying for something else other than true intrinsic quality. It's like the time I went to a "fancy" Japanese restaurant and had their sushi - tasted horrible. I almost second guessed myself. It literally tasted worst than the sushi I get from Wegmans. Thank you Dave for your honesty. Just because it's a German company and Made In Germany don't mean a thing anymore. Everything has to be examined closely and individually with integrity and without the influence of "namesake" or "countrysake".

    Thank you for sharing this. I generally dislike mid-forward stuff because the harman curve just doesn't sound natural to me at all.
    Also, thank you for noting your experience with pro audio gear. That definitely qualifies your opinions.

    Great review Dave, the hedd2 definitely isn’t for me. I prefer a warmer sound signature.

    Hi Dave, as usual an honest review :) have you ever tried the hd800s? If so, what do you think and how would you compare them to these?

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  18 днів тому +1

      I own the Drop 8xx. As far as comparison to an Hd800s the HEDDphone 2 is slightly more intense and direct, doesn't have as natural tone and timbre.

    It would have been interesting to know if you could fix the HEDDphone two with some EQ, thanks for the review

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  20 днів тому +4

      I don't use EQ as I review gear in stock form as much as possible. The only time I use EQ regularly is when I am running the sound board at my church. I don't use EQ for personal listening or reviewing.

    Dave, sorry to go off topic, but in your opinion if I want a headphone that has a "wow" factor in sound stage only, what would you recommend under 300 dollars? Sound stage width only wise

    Going to have to hard disagree on the bass. It had the most visceral bass response of any headphone I heard at canjam nyc. Keep up the great work regardless.

    I test drive the original Heddphone and was not impressed , Heddphone 2 come in and I test drive it in store , and am still not impressed , these days I've found that many boutique independent brand which offer top price headphones simply are not providing top price performance from their headphones - the RAAL , a certain Italian luxury brand , MySphere , and a bunch of others .. I just fail to see why people would buy them

    I have both the LCD5 and HEDD2. I source both of them with Holo Audio Bliss. To my ears, HEDD2 sounds more natural and has a better timbre than LCD5 without EQ. After applying EQ (Mitch Barnett Convolution), LCD5 gains an upper hand but honest not by much. I haven’t got around to try EQ on HEDD2 however I noticed that after say 60-100hours of burnin/usage, it bring a lot of note weight to the out of the box sterile and lean presentation. Perhaps evaluate them after that duration? I am confident your opinion will differ to what you have posted at present. Cheers!

      I'm glad you enjoy the HEDDphone 2. The unit was a loaner and has had many an hour out on them, I would say well over 100 hours between the various reviewers. I stand by my opinions mentioned in the video. Thanks for the comment.

    It's a Pro tool, like Etymotic ER4SR. No taste. Just reveiling ans analytical, super technical enabling you to understand the music chain and every detail in recordings.
    Not "musical", and that way a different kind of fun. When it all matches up though ... ❤

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  20 днів тому +1

      I use Pro gear weekly and it has "taste". Neutral and natural play and work together and sadly the HEDDphone 2 doesn't have it in my opinion.

    Hello Sir I need a suggestion I'm currently using Moondrop SSR(my first IEM) which I love though I've heard some find it to be shouty or on the brighter side. Which means I'm not sensitive to peaky treble or mids. Now I'm planning to get a new IEM which is good at detail retrieval and is transparent sounding. I won't mind if it's bright or warm sounding as long as I get great details for the price alongside being transparent sounding. I've read reviews of Etymotic ER2SE is somewhat similar to what I'm looking for but it's way over my budget. I want to get a set at the minimum price possible. The max I can stretch my budget is 70-90$. I have two options in my mind considering detail retrieval in that price range, first the Simgot EA500lm but I've heard these are coloured and not transparent at all(which is why I'm hesitant to go for it) second is the Truthear Hexa which is relatively transparent and warm relaxed sounding but has good detail retrieval for its price. There's another IEM that I have my eye on is the Tanchjim 4u which isn't available in my country(India) through a retailer as of now. I'm not sure if I should wait for it yo arrive or go for any other alternative. I could even go for anything between the Truthear GATE or Tangzu Wan'er Studio Edition if they're somewhat transparent sounding with good detail retrieval and offer excellent value 'cause all I want is a natural sounding transparent IEM with great detail retrieval for its price (be it brightly tuned or on the warmer side). and I'm not an audiophile I just listen to classical genre and qawwali sometimes.
    Please suggest me an IEM considering everything I've described above. Thanks in advance.
    P.s. - I don't mind if there's not enough base to make it sound balanced.
