The owners manual for my vehicle states 5w30 is the preferred oil year round, but if outside temp is above 0F 10w30 can be used. It also recommends using full synthetic 5w30 or 0w30 if the outside temp will get down to -22. Used a 0w30 one year, but not too impressed by it, so been using 5w30 ever since, full synthetic. Guessing a synthetic blend would work well as I don't think the blends were really a thing 20 years ago when my vehicle was made.
