    I bought my Miele cat and dog bagged vacuum in 2004, it’s an absolute dream of a machine and I genuinely hope it never dies. I have tried Dyson V6 , V8, V11, Kogan C8 Pro, Bissell crosswave pet and the Xioami F8 all of which have disappointed, frustrated and ultimately been returned. Now to find out if Miele Australia will allow me to test drive this at home because you’re selling it really well, especially with the suction, trigger and ability to stand on its own.

I used the Miele for just a month so far the battery performed as advertised but I want to gather actual use data if possible.

    I bought one Miele Bag vacume in 1995 and the bustard is still non-stop running. Never had any issue. And the power is still the same. But I want to buy a new slick vacume, was thinking to buy Dyson, but your video change my mind. I will get the Triflex instead. Seems nice.

    There are still flaws... hair wrap on brush... no one wants to deal with this now that it's possible not to. Two: edging, even in your video one can see with the head wide or edged against base board it leaves the edges dirty. FYI for those designing vacuums for the future you must not all these features to be worth $500 or more in your vacuum.
    * Filtration
    *Soft brush roll for hard floors
    * Anti-hairwrap brush technology
    * Edging ability
    * Lightweight
    * Ease of use and attachment change
    * Can stand on its own
    * Multiple power settings
    * No need to change head for total house clean. (Area rugs, bath rugs, carpet all piles, all hard surface flooring)
    * Great suction on low...which means medium or high is rarely needed.
    * If it can be cordless - great. But honestly battery life on vacuums is going to need a serious upgrade before I'll buy one. I want to clean my whole house without needing to stop for charging.
    * Canister size must be sizable
    * Rinceable, washable filters
    * Must appeal in looks, no more grey/black/white monochromatic dull themes. It doesn't have to be neon just appealing. FYI...BLUE is the favorite seller in color. I don't care what the statistics say... its true.
    * Needs to last minimum of 2-4 years for average house hold cleaning. Exceptions are for those who clean houses for a living. They will never make a vacuum that can last for this use.
    * Noise... while important... please... everyone knows vacuuming isn't quiet. If it has all the above... I'll deal with noisier. Most people didn't even consider this until vacuum makers thought it was important.
    * Heres the kicker... won't lose suction after canister is half full. No one talks about this... ever. As one fills up canister... power diminishes on every single high end vac I've used - and I've used them all. I doubt this is possible but if one could pull that off... I'm guessing the sky's the limit of they could do all these things in one vacuum. I'd pay big bucks for it. Heck, my grand total to date in vacuums (I'm 50 years) added up to a high end vehicle with all the bells and whistles. No joke! Yes, I cleaned houses for a living. But at home, I have all kinds of flooring, 6 cats, a husband that doesn't know how to stay clean... and I live in the desert so dust has new meaning...So far the Shark has beat any other vacuum...Dyson because it just plain sucks up everything and the need to change heads is ridiculously time consuming. The others for reasons of missing at least half the features just listed. Shark comes as close as one can get. In your video here, if you turn off the brush roll and use only on hard for setting... you can do the same thing as this unit. Plus it has hairwrap technology and it's edging is far better. You want the best for your buck...Shark has a vacuum for you.

    Love it. Absolutely a full size plugged in canister replacement. But only for carpet. It's heavy yes, but it's easy to maneuver. But on hard floors there's just no great floor attachment for this Miele. That really is a con if you mostly have all hard floors.

  • @danieloxman6508

    Why is the suction compared to the Dyson V7 but then the noise level is compared to the Dyson V11? This fact showed me this review is totally biased and pretty much fake. Unfortunate because Miele could be a good vacuum but this review makes me want to buy it less.

  • @Lisa_Evers

    My vacuum is just under two months old. Suddenly, battery pack Not Charging. No flashing lights to signal that battery is charging. I tried another A/C outlet and that did not fix. All my other electronics and outlets working fine. I tried Removing battery pack and Reattaching. That didn't fix it. Tried taking apart the machine...the tube from the handle...reconfiguring....putting the motor/dustbin towards the Bottom half of vacuum vs the Upper half of vacuum. Nothing works.
    Sadly, only now do I see that apparently (via Amazon customer reviews) this is not an uncommon occurrence...that the battery simply 'stops' working. I mean, I get that sometimes rechargeable batteries may eventually need to be entirely replaced but..... a battery no longer charging after just Two Months...and the cost for a new battery being around $100 from what I understand? Not to mention that, in some instances, I've heard that even a new battery may not correct the issue...that it may have something to do with any/all batteries no longer making the proper 'connection' with the motor which holds the charge.

    Just got a Miele Triflex Cat&Dog model after watching this and a few other reviews. I have to say: I was thoroughly disappointed.
    The Good: LED light really reveals a lot of dust and fur you otherwise wouldn't notice on hard surfaces. The Alt Mode takes most of the weight off your wrist, making it comfortable to use. Hair tangle was actually not bad given the volume of pickup we had from pets. No major snowplowing noticed on kitchen debris but there wasn't much except kibble crumbs. It deep cleaned the basement carpet floor and front door carpet mat quite thoroughly; couldn't believe what came out. Noise level, even on its highest setting, was actually quieter than our Electrolux Ergorapido; the cats, our baby and toddler didn't mind it. Being able to stand the vacuum upright is a huge perk for a cordless vacuum.
    The bad: it is needlessly complicated to remove the dustbin, empty, and place back on. It didn't seem to seal back together 100% either when I re-attached. Dirt doesn't easily fall out of bin either; you need to use a fork or other utensil to empty if it is full, which is a dealbreaker for me. Despite doing well on carpet with the main head, suction was shockingly low overall, even in handheld mode. It seemed to leave a lot of dirt and hair on the corners of our laminate floors. Even with the crevasse tool it left dust in the window ledge. Minimal suction on hard floors meant you need to run the machine at full speed and that sucks into battery life; we barely got the main floor and only part of the basement done. The motorized upholstery head couldn't even get cat hair off our microfiber couches after multiple passes. The vacuum felt clunky and difficult to disassemble when trying to switch between modes. Handling compared to our Electrolux Ergorapido wasn't as good.
    In the final analysis, the suction simply wasn't enough to get the job done on hard surfaces and the dirt disposal is needlessly complicated. For a $1000 CAD premium vacuum it disappointed. I really wanted to love this vacuum but I'm returning it tomorrow; can't justify the cost for this level of performance.

    If you were using the correct Dyson floor head for hard floors, you will find that it blows the competition out of the water. Dyson also has a trigger system because it actually makes the charge last longer. I love Miele, but Dyson has the stick category in the bag.

    • @DesignerAppliances
      @DesignerAppliances  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Laura, thanks for your comment! After testing the Miele Triflex HX1 for a few weeks, we really liked the convenience of not having to change the floorhead for use on different surfaces. That being said, both Dyson and Miele are great vacuums! In fact, we had heated arguments within our team regarding the suction power of Dyson v11 Torque Drive vs. Miele. I really liked the trigger on the v11 when John was adamant about the Miele's switch design. Our videographer's husband liked the Dyson v11 so much that she had to smuggle the vacuum out of her house.
      I agree with you that Dyson currently owns the category. They figured it our early that nobody wants to lug a giant vacuum around.
      Keep an eye out for one of our upcoming videos, where we'll compare the Miele vs. Dyson models in greater depth.

You would have to buy the V11 Absolute Extra for the head to be included but by the time you buy that you're paying upwards of $1,200, whilst the Miele Triflex used in the video costs around $800 (Prices in AUD). I see your point though, the fluffy head is great on hard floors but I think the point the reviewer was trying to make was that Miele offers a head that adjusts itself to all surfaces.

    Each has their preference. However how is the disposing process of the Dyson any different than the Miele? If anything the Dyson has point and shoot disposal so you rarely have to shake anything. Also speaking of filtration let’s see how quickly dirty those Hepa filters get vs the cyclone filtration and hepa filter of the Dyson, not to mention let’s see those suction tests and see how performs better. There’s a lot of convenient little details the Miele has over the Dyson no doubt, plenty actually, but some of theses test just looked made specifically to make the Miele look better.

    • @blakaeg

    • @oscarcantu6033
      @oscarcantu6033 4 роки тому +2

      blakaeg And if the Miele had the same hair problem somehow that same problem doesn’t apply to Miele? Look Dyson’s are expensive no doubt, not everyone wants to pay that much for a cordless vacuum then there’s very similar vacuums like the Miele with nearly identical or same performance on their floors, hell I’ll tell someone buying a cordless on a budget not to buy the luxury of a Dyson then. I was just pointing out some problems the reviewer lists are a problem of all cordless vacuums but somehow blames Dyson for it and maneuvers or hides the fact that Miele will face it too.

      It is so hard to test vacuums if you do not run them side by side. First of all, this video is about Miele Triflex therefore you are naturally going to hear about its features. We published a different vid on best cordless vacuums to talk about picks. Just recorded a new vid on Miele vs Dyson should be live in a week or so. In addition, it is not that easy to test vacs (especially if you do not have them side by side performing similar actions). I was surprised to see how all of the vacuums I tested acted differently. Having said that people like different products for different reasons. My daughter fell in love with the Dyson v11 simply because it has a cool color, the screen is modern, and the motor makes a satisfying sound when it turns on and off... The same goes for many of our team members, we all had interesting reasons to like one vac over another one. As for me, I use the Miele daily. So far I cannot seem to find issues with it. However, it is a new product and I am going to update the vid in due time to talk about reliability, battery, and suction performance over time once we get market info. Thank you for your honest opinion btw helps us make better videos!!

      This is a great question. I bought a triflex pro, a month ago. I'm no expert, but I had expected more suction from this machine. I'm used to a Dyson V8, and felt that had more suction to it. The number I was given by Miele was 170 in effect, when asked about suction power. A corded vacuum has about 1000. I kind of liked this vacuum anyway, and decided to keep it, until one of the batteries went completely dead after 3 weeks of very moderate vacuuming. I returned my unit, and was refunded. I would tell anyone about to buy this vacuum to check if the suctionpower is enough, as I always felt a little disappointed about that.

    go to Vacuum Wars on youtube. Thousand x's better. Real testing
    No one (few) has a rug like that and the M attracts hair in the roller, will not pick up big pieces on hard floors, and will not do well on hard floors like the others with advanced rollers...
    Comparing the filtration to the lowest end is kinda FU, you need to compare it to the top.

    Yes unfortunately this “review” is simply an advertisement for the Miele. Some of your claims and comparisons are in direct conflict with those of independent reviewers. The main vacuum head is shown on other reviews to just push around larger debris; exactly the opposite of what you claim. There are some cool initiative features but it is certainly not the best stick vacuum out there; especially considering bang for buck.

    Love Miele brand but this model is no where near Dyson, very disappointing design by Miele!

      Poorly Deigned, we’ve seen it all before not a new invention with an average functionality. Not what I would expect from Miele.

      @@duglassawa2178 You didn't say a single thing that supports your "no where near Dyson" statement. You're clearly biased. However, so is this video. It isn't really a review.

      The HX1 is clever but it's suction power is nowhere near a Dyson V10 or V11. You've got to run the HX1 on medium or high to get any real suction power. And the battery life is terrible on medium and high mode all the time. The HX1 dustbin design is horrible, difficult to clean and the locking mechanism for the bin and filter is about the rost I've ever used. Plus the bin is tiny and has to be emptied too often. Finally, the floor brush head doesn't offer the option to turn off the motorized brush roller which would be helpful on hard floors.
      All of these problems are addressed in the Lupe cordless vac. Similar clever engineering in a much better overall package. And it's suction is amazing, even on low. Skip the HX1 and get a Lupe.

    Avoid that vacuum at all costs. Its brush has a design fault - bearing is not properly isolated and dirt gets into it. As the bearing is made of plastic, it simply melts when some dirt gets in rendering the vacuum useless.
