I don’t know why, but it satisfies me when Yuri thought Nanno is slowly becoming mortal because her wound didn’t heal. Nanno is clearly playing with her. “And you, Yuri, still have a lot to learn”. She underestimated just who she was dealing with.

honestly this show is really good and makes you think. Seeing as Nanno had no problem healing in the last episode she clearly is still immortal. Now we have to deal with Junko and see what she turns out to be. I think Nanno is just baiting Yuri on. So when the time comes she will get the karma she deserves.
I feel like Nanno is still immortal and is pretending to be mortal to feed on Yuri’s ego so she can punish her with greater karma in the end. Because even if she bleed and then died after, we still see her alive sitting where she watches Yuri and Junko.

This episode shows how Yuri makes Nanno greedy, Nanno also wants to show how good she is... which led to her “end”
I think the reason why she didn’t die in the end was because she wasn’t questioning her morals anymore, Wann killed her (when she was mortal.) which made Nanno question her morals but when Junko killed Wann she didn’t question herself anymore as Junko was revealed to be a blood thirsty monster.
So that’s why I think she’s still alive.

Unpopular opinion, I think Yuri is a great addition, and she's supposed to be annoying.
In the 1st season, people were satisfied with Nanno's punishment and believed that bad people deserved it.
However, I also believe that many of us feel sorry for some victims thinking the punishment is too harsh.
Now, Yuri comes and makes us question Nanno's judgement which for me is brilliant.
No one is too powerful to be questioned.
I agree. There were times I was angry when someone didn't die in season 1 (when I thought they should because revenge.) However, now that we're actually witnessing this occur (revenge) the audience can reflect on that idea because we really don't like what Yuri represents/does because we may find it annoying, and or unnecessary.

I disagree, because Nanno didn't even need Yuri to question her actions. For example, that girl asking Nanno "did i really deserve this?" was enough for her to think about it and reflect. Same when she saw that the kids being free from the school's rules wasn't going to give them color again, Yuri wasn't necessary at all, in my opinion.

@@manueee1559 I actually do, i don't think it would've been a duplicated tho. One of my favorite episodes from season 2 is the first one, it had the same formula from the 1st season but i found it more creative and well developed. The idea of the show has potential to be explored in many ways with the same formula.
But it's just my opinion, it's fine if people prefer Yuri to be on the series.
I love how relaxed Nanno is. She clearly isn't affected by Yuri and her taunts, and just toys with her. She doesn't care that she kills her targets immediately and there's no satisfaction, and she doesn't care about this rivalry Yuri's so adamant on having with her. It's really obvious that Nanno's dismissal of Yuri is gonna *get* to her, and Nanno KNOWS that she'll win eventually, just like how all her lessons managed to land with enough time.
Yes, Nanno focus on her target, but Yuri appear to interfere.
Nanno prefers to marinate the meat and let the juices settle in in order to create a satisfying meal. Yuri is like a microwaved can of soup.

I love how people are comparing Yuri to Nanno.. they are completely different and it would be so boring if Yuri ended up being a carbon copy of Nanno. One thing I notice is that Yuri is impatient and more willing to use brute force, while Nanno lets her victims sabotage themselves by toying with them.

The difference between them is Yuri was a victim Nanno wasn't. Although Nanno has *experiences* of being a victim yet we all know she is *numb* or no emotions at all. While Yuri feels anger bec of what happened to her. In which as a human she feels strong emotions. She knows what being a victim *feels* like.

One of the things Yuri doesn't realize or forgets is that Nanno literally has the ability to control people's minds as she pleases. Nanno was even able to make many people's wishes come true. Nanno is truely well seasoned and many tiers above Yuri, even having done these well thought out lessons for at least over a decade given the school reunion episode.
i love the fact that nanno is mad at how yuri beats lucky the dog. it really shows that both of them are different since nanno will only punish those who deserve the most while yuri will do anything it takes to punish someone

I definitely agree.. Girl from Nowhere is more spicy when Yuri came.. In the previous season, we see Nanno as a powerful entity that can match that of a devil.. no one can challenge her power.. More obstacles, challenges much better.. Also looking forward for the next season :)
Totally agree, without yuri, girl from nowhere would just be the "same" as season 1 and every audience would find it boring and repetitive. But with Yuri and the good actress that made everyone hate her, we're now rooting for Nanno and looking forward to what the story would be like in the future. It seems like Girl from Nowhere now has depth in the plot other than narrating different issues and stories from different schools because of Yuri and Junko in the end.
a reoccurring plotline was what girl from nowhere needed to become a top tier show. also the shift in production between the two seasons is just chefs kiss😫🤌

However, the most annoying and weirdest part was what Yuri said at the end. If they keep distributing this power to literally everyone and letting them decide the fate, it would turn the entire series into a mess. I hope Nanno does something about it before it gets out of control.

I actually think Yuri is acting perfectly. She was abused by people all her life. She was given the power to be the judge. She lacks hindsight. Nanno has been doing this far longer and can detach herself from her work. Yuri is human, thus she does things in her limited experience, which is violent and to the point.
Nanno gives you a choice. Yuri gives you the weapon right off the bat and expects the worst since that's how humans do it.

Nanno is playing the long game as always. Yuri likes to do things quickly - which is what she did by judging nanno so quickly then planned to “end nanno” while nanno is doing as she always does by prolonging what will happen to yuri by teaching her lessons. Eventually just like everyone else, yuri will cause her own downfall. Nanno is nanno and yuri is basically a baby compared to nanno when it comes to this thing. Does yuri really think she could “end her” that easily? Nanno knows exactly what she’s doing. She’s always 10 steps ahead 😭😭.

In the last two episodes of the season where Nanno had a cut in the neck, I really did think that Nanno just didn’t really heal it that much for Yuri to think that she’s losing her immortality, that’s a nice way to trick someone
What's funny is you can tell Nanno is just toying with Yuri. She said "if you weren't so stupid this could have been fun". Giving her another chance to do it right but Yuri in impatient and playing right into Nanno's plan. Actually, that was Nanno's clone, and clones can't heal their wounds, just like when Nanno's tongue was ripped off. Therefore, the last episode where Nanno died was actually a clone, and I think she's setting a plan to make Yuri pay for what she did

Am I the only one who likes yuri the way she is. She is really violent and dangerous and represents vengeance but still she is also really interesting. Her sly smile and the way she is impatient and tries to get the work done as soon as possible.... There is something really interesting she brings there....
audience like to hate on yuri because she's depicted as a villainous character, but irl if anyone went through what she went through and given her powers, they would do exactly the same as her. Humans abuse power when given it, even the ones who were once victims, it's been a running theme throughout the whole series.

With Nanno wondering if she's necessary I suspect that she'll stay out of the way for two episodes to see how Yuri (and Junko) is without her. When she sees the result, I expect her to intervene. Even if she comes to the conclusion that she's still not necessary, one thing will be perfectly clear, Yuri is not necessary either. And it's a mother's duty to put wayward children in their place.

Nanno is the type of Karma that come with a warning but also doing it slowly until they realize their fault and getting terrorized with their own fault.
Yuri is the type of Karma that just came constantly and it is all about revenge, it is not the most dangerous, but this type of Karma are taking short time not like Nanno's type.
Junko is the dangerous type of Karma, Thailand people believe that this Karma just came out of nowhere when people did something wrong, and nobody knows when will it come and how worst is it.

As everyone takes literally Yuri I'll explain what Yuri represents and simbolyze in the series and why she is an essential character to understand what Nanno symbolizes too (in my opinion).
Since we all know Nanno is KARMA, karma takes time, patience, sometimes manipulate some acts but with the objective to make justice and give a lesson to guilty people but there's a thin line between justice (or karma) and vengeance, vengeance is immediate, chaotic even impulsive, impulse leads humans to fulfill it's more darkest desires or just having fun with any objective but to feel pleasure (that's why Yuri is always impatient with Nanno's methods and says she likes fun when torturing) but vengeance most of the time ends up with tragedy that's why victims from Yuri always die or are almost to die. Also Yuri's origins are shown as a "poor" and "two-faced" girl that when she get's a chance or power she use it against it's victims, because that's where vengeance comes from, from human insecurities or "alter ego", when they get power they become dangerous because as said before, it's a way to fulfill desires and protect insecurities.
The thin line of blood in Nanno's hand (in the opening) converges into Yuri's hand (symbolizing the birth of vengeance, we can even see the representation from "The creation of Adam" from Michelangelo) the thin line represents the limit of justice and vengeance, it's the carnal innate instinct that humans have ant that makes us. Also in the bathtub we can see another representation of another paint from "Ophelia" (Ophelia in William Shakespeare's play, Hamlet, is believed to have killed herself out of madness by drowning herself in a river) where Nanno sumerges as Yuri emerges symbolizing how justice can sometimes be overcomed by vengeance.

yes!!! i have a theory that shes just doing the same as what she did to everyone else. she gives people with a hidden darkness power and then allows them to use it to destroy themselves whether or not they realise it- so i think that yuri is just an example given to the viewers of what it would look like if humans were given the chance to judge others.

if you guys don't know, she (Yuri) is actually a sociopath. She represents Veangeance and Revenge while Nanno herself, is Satan's daughter. She represents karma that normally everyone gets. I think in ss3 yuri will do all the work and then partner up with nanno again. I hope! and i sorta think that nanno and yuri are sisters. Which, they're both immortal and Satan's Daughters.

This is so good- I love the Liberation scenes. The soundtrack rly fits them- especially at the beginning. Also the transition from “Minnie and the four bodies” is so clean I swear. But how come some of the subtitles are different from when I watched the show? Did anyone else also notice that?
People here are also saying stuff like Yuri isn’t on par with Nanno in any way, and that she’s never going to replace Nanno… yeah, but, like, she’s not. The “Girl from Nowhere” is Nanno. We know that, because we all know where Yuri comes from. It’s Nanno’s face on the cover of the show, not Yuri’s.
Also, I kind of dislike the idea that Nanno represents karma and Yuri represents revenge, because.. they don’t really represent anything. Nanno just doles out punishment- unfair punishment, in a lot of the cases while Yuri doles out more fair punishment.
Technically, all Yuri wants is to be Nanno’s apprentice, but… if I was a human girl, who died and got resurrected into immortality, followed the person who gave me said immortality and wanted to thank her, use her to teach me to adjust to this new life… and what does she do? She gives me the cold shoulder, tells me to stay away from her, uses me (the video that Yuri released in SOTUS which Nanno claimed to release), what do I do? I show her I’m capable, by creating a shortcut for her.
I do the same thing she has done multiple times, yet she still refuses to acknowledge and teach me. Then, upon my next attempt to help, she locks me in a dark room full of carnivorous teachers.
I mean, really, I would’ve reacted the same way as Yuri. Nanno is literally being so weird at this point: she resurrects her and then tells her to stay away. Such mixed signals.

I might face criticism since everybody is "Team Nanno" here. Nanno and Yuri's characters portray karma and vengeance. In society, both of these tolls have to occur. You can't have one without the other. We're only thinking from Nanno's POV, but have you thought from Yuri's? Sure, Yuri is a hateable character, we must all admit. But you cannot get rid of karma, nor vengeance. In my opinion, the message of the story says, "Karma & Vengeance cannot be destroyed, they will always exist no matter how hard you try to extinguish them." And the fact that they are immortal further proves my point. In summary, you may think Yuri was disrupting Nanno's work, but really they were just co-existing, and the two don't make a very good pair. I like both characters in their own ways since they'll always go on.

The basic difference between karma and revenge is - Revenge involves punishing someone who has wronged the person or their family on the other hand - Karma, involves waiting around for the universe to punish someone who has performed a wrong act.
