Hi Paul. Amazing how they are still standing after all these years. A testament to the perseverance of hard working people back in the day. Thank you. ❤
Yes, time travel back to the past! To see these houses being erected and then finished. Families setting up housekeeping and making the houses into homes. I picture them working hard and also times of fun family togetherness, not everyone attached to their own electronic device. Also, neighbors were neighborly in most cases. Thanks again Paul . Until I started watching your channel I didn’t realize there were so many cacti in Australia😊
Hey Paul. Another old beauty. Eventually they will just crumble back into the earth from whence they came. The old gardens, plants and trees will be the marker of their grave. Thanks. 🇦🇺
This might be interesting to my husband and I bought a house it was about 100 years old under the carpet we found a Roy Rogers magazine and it had a picture of his horse I thought that was interesting back in the day they used newspaper for
These homes do make your imagination run wild. Not sure y'all have the same expression, but I'd love to have been "a fly on the wall" in those homes back in the day.Glad you found those old girls.😊
I'm glad to see two old abandoned rural farmhouses in one video this evening they both were in bad shape but still great to explore and experience the past of them and these old farmhouses always have something interesting to see and another great video of fantastic classic looking abandoned farms and ranches there in Australia thanks again for more old empty houses Thank you.🇦🇺🤠🐨🦘🇦🇺
I mean those houses were built to last, built with compassion & zest for life. Houses now are built in less than week as if being thrown together with 2 feet, then the next wind that comes along blows them down.
The trifecta of noxious weeds the peppercorn tree, bamboo, prickley pear cactus and maybe a boxthorn bush hidden somewhere that could be the fourth one would have been a nice house in it's time all the doors and floorboards may have been reclaimed for another house
Paul These 2 homes must have been lovely in their day. WOW that newspaper you found from 1939. I’m surprised the rest of the house is still standing after the one wall fell in. The pigeons seem to have taken over this house. It seems people leave their homes abandoned and never return. At least they repurposed some of the materials. Too bad we couldn’t see the glass surrounding the door. I bet it was stained glass. Nice work Paul. Keep up the great work you do and we will see you in the next one. Stay safe and well.👍🆒
Thanks for 2, well 3 beautiful old homes! The relic with the packed earth on rock floors was a great find, so close to the "new" homestead! Beautiful, lonely places now. My grandmother was a small child at that time, in rural Victoria. I was obsessed with learning about the farm and life for her and her 12 siblings! I often dreamed, and day dreamed that's where I was ♥️🐎 That was like time travel, and so are your great videos! These farmsteads are my favourite, urban ex. make me super anxious 😱 these ones are perfect! I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go 😁👋
So every sad to think those people when all the way there to clear land and raise a family and livestock to to just have no one left to care for land or be to want it witch suck It wound been many Gen of family's on those to homesteads ty sharing with us all
Ah wow cool, if this old place could talk, but way too far to save now. But it's great to see what it kinda would have looked like. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, MM :)
Hi mate, I’ve watched just about all of your videos, it’s great that you record these timeless dwellings for future prosperity, out of curiosity can I ask have you ever felt any paranormal presence in your explorations ?
Awesome explore! The first house I reckon the one out the back amongst the bamboo was the original house until the other was built. I would have loved to see the second house in the 1930s too. Have you ever come across a snake whilst on your explores?
36:00 .. "1990, that's 23 yrs ago.." actually 34 yrs ago mate .. I would just like to add the architecture on many of these stone farm houses in South Australia indicates they were built by the same firm, so maybe the farm packages were advertised in Britain fr instance to lure a prospective "rural aristocracy" into Australia, whereas continuous cycles of drought, warfare and bad Government policy eventually forced the abandonment of their dreams .. a great many young men from rural properties like the ones we see on this site, and from the country towns that sprang up to service their needs, went into the Australian Army thru the Duntroon Military College .. they were in many respects the finest manhood Australia had to offer .. and we see just what it all came to, good video cheers :)
Hi Martin yes oops 23 years ago as I filmed these 2 last year :-) Yeah South Australia is renown for the use of stone to build homes. The highest ratio in Australia by far. Great summary on how these home came to be left for dead. We got it good these days in comparison! Cheers for watching mate :-)
In September of 1939 England declared war with Germany and in the same year a volunteer Australian unit of the 2nd Australia Imperial Force left to support of England. Yes, that house likely has some stories to tell.
I think you were stepping all over a couple of grave sights in that first settlers area. They looked like 2 sealed over grave so animals couldn't dip them up.
Hi Adrien 🙂 yes tagging is never that nice in my eyes, luckily it's not too common on these old home's. Glad you are enjoying the videos 😁👍 cheers for watching 👍
That 34yo paper has nothing to do with last occupation, definitely left there some other way. That dilapidation and rot both inside and out is at the very least 70 years old. Nobody has occupied that place since the 40s or 50s.
Not sure why we should feel the need to correct the man on something so insignificant... Find something better to complain about... Better yet, just don't.. Not everyone's perfect.
Hi Paul. Amazing how they are still standing after all these years. A testament to the perseverance of hard working people back in the day. Thank you. ❤
1990 34 years ago poor old home thank you once again 🙏❤️
Hi Sue, yes I filmed it last year so I was ten year out! lol :-)

Thanks, Paul ... great value, two for the price of one. I agree with the time travel thought; that would be very special.

Awesome video bro! House’s back in the day were built a lot better than today! ❤️🤘👍
Cheers Carla! :-)
This was great!!! Thank you ❤❤
I try to imagine what it would feel like to be able to finally sit down at the end of the day and seek out the evening breezes.
Hi mate, I’ve watched just about all of your videos, it’s great that you record these timeless dwellings for future prosperity, out of curiosity can I ask have you ever felt any paranormal presence in your explorations ?
September 1939 was the month it started!

No fixing up those two!
The outdoor dunny and laundry stand a good chance though.
👍😉
Thanks for the tours Paul!
👍🤠 🇺🇸
you do find some beautiful old homes what stories they could tell
Thanks for watching again Kim :-)
@@urbexindigo5164 😀
Electrolux might be repurposable, metal still in good nick
The last cactus was your Prickly Pear wasn't it?
I think you were stepping all over a couple of grave sights in that first settlers area. They looked like 2 sealed over grave so animals couldn't dip them up.
I bet you hate tagging and I ruined some of these beautiful❤ I watch your videos of quite a bit they're pretty good thank you from Seattle Washington
Hi Adrien 🙂 yes tagging is never that nice in my eyes, luckily it's not too common on these old home's. Glad you are enjoying the videos 😁👍 cheers for watching 👍
Have you ever come across haunted houses ?
How come the floors are taken out but I've seen built-ins and perfectly good kitchen cabinets left behind my country al that would be taken out
Wallis was kerosene fridge
First has been systematically robbed out, pity.
