The IS38 turbo is from the MK7 Golf R

Great video, I have essentially the same car and it's great to get someone to guide me around the whole engine. Have you seen many issues, less reliability, etc. running the IS38 on these engines? Thanks and keep up the great vids
Ppl never get back to commits but the reliability in the -.8t come to the valve footing and hoping you have a manual or a DSG because stock auto will be a time bump I just swapped mine to a 3.6😊

One of these 100% slightly quicker as well as they are lighter

Hi can the car run a safe stage 2 without a clutch upgrade? I’ve got a 1.8 tsi Leon mk3 and want to tune it to stage 2 but wasn’t sure if a clutch was really necessary. I’m looking to go onto stage 3 after and would definitely change it then. But it is necessary for a stage 2?

you will need a clutch even at stage 1 they are super weak.
How much those it cost to get up to stage 3?
Runs good but that exhaust sounds like a wet fart! Needs a good muffler
Was the flywheel replaced? If so which one did you use as i can’t find any for the cupra but found some for the polo gti but wasn’t sure if it’ll fit even though they have the same engine?
My flywheel was not replaced 👍

What boost pressure is it running on this turbo? I have leon fr st with this turbo swap and running 1.55-1.6 bar at 313 bhp
Isn’t that low out put for such high boost ? Isn’t stock golf r makes 300 on like 1.1 bar stock . So even with smaller displacement extra 0.45 bar should make easy 340hp
@@the_a3_8v94 I’m not a tuner hence me asking is it looking right, however since I posted this my engine went fucked, lost compression on cyl 1 and now getting rebuilt and new map will be done too 🙃
