Meta verse might be popular like in the movies if the world turns to a terrible place.

But many of those movies are impractical. Like cyberpunk shows where looters would spend their money for tech when a normal person would consider getting food or just basic needs given the scarcity.
Either the richest and the most hopeless would act like that. And they tend not to be the majority

I don't know if this comment is going to get to the poster of this video, but the talk about visiting a united match really showed how much the metaverse hater is so blunt and just a hater with no real reason, because I've been a united fan my whole life and I've never been to a united game, I don't have the money, nor the time or energy to go to old Trafford to see a united game in person, and tbh I'm not sure I want to anymore considering what happened in Indonesia where the losing opposition fans broke out a fight and killed hundreds of people. So yeah the metaverse is important regardless of how many hatera are out there and it's inevitable, they said when you're succeeding you'll have so many haters who'll look for your flaws to point out to people instead of your progress

VR is limitless, while real places and experiences are not. Least of which is not having to get out of bed.
Ppl are already doing that via the interwebz. It allows anyone to belong somewhere.
Most crucial, ESCAPING REALITY (immersion) is absolutely the driving force for many. Japan is already facing it in their youth.

Nonsense!! Immersion is absolutely desired and sought after. Why do PlayStation capabilities keep improving if more immersion and realism is not desired? Look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Cyberpunk 2077 -- both praised for their next-generation graphics and realism -- I say they are mini Metaverses. Look at Unreal Engine 5.1 capabilities which was just released -- the technology to make immersive environments continues to evolve in exciting ways. I HATE IT that all these fund managers and financial speculators are entering the space looking for a quick shekel, looking for ways to advertise, looking for ways to sell digital things which cost next to nothing to make. The Metaverse WILL BE created when the right people are involved.

And think about it this way and ask yourself this:
What happens when the electricity and wifi goes out, for whatever reason?

The issue with the metaverse is that is a video game made by non game developers. I am not saying the developers are not game dev, I am saying the higher ups are not and have no idea, hence why this looks like a game from the late 90s. The metaverse is not solving any problem nor is it improving on any of the current experiences.

  • @wzt9376

I don't believe too much in VR except in a video game kind of setup and agree with the fact that people wanna get the experience or a unique one should I say but the technology would have to be there first and it's simply not at this point. However AR definitely is marketable and has huge potential use. As for Meta...well I like to brighten my day by laughing so thats that. 😂

What mmhmm thinks about oops accident at meta?

  • @richlimme
    @richlimme 2 роки тому +1

As a VR user, let me share my opinions.
    1. Immersion is in fact important. That's one of the reason people buy it for games like half life alyx. BUT it isn't there yet. Rendering requirements, FOV, pixel density, and lens sweet spot clarity has to improve much more to feel like you are looking through your eyes. Majority of the people will not ditch their tv or monitors at the moment. Imagine watching a sports game or participating in an event like you are there. Thats the goal here. When it gets to that level, I believe there would be mass adaption.
    2. The platform's growth has to be organic. Just look at vrchat which has more usage.
    3. People don't believe digital assets have any value in vr. But I disagree. Once a platform matures to a point where users and companies can create a universe that people want to be part of, purchasable assets will be valuable. Kind of similar to in-app purchases on our phones or games.
    4. productivity of vr/ar can be a driving force for adaption. Imagine having remote meetings like you are there. or have 4 monitors of any size in a virtual work environment. Still not there yet.
    5. VR/AR is like ps1. we are like 5 generations out from a usable product, maybe more.

Every decade people are moving towards more and more isolated space. Thanks to covid the workspace and relationships have accelerated it's transition to virtual space.
Think of it this way, instead of twitch you watch favourite video game streamer on live from a stadium with a crowd , or having a whole office system setup with max config just by wearing a glass.
VR is not to replace the reality, VR Is to upgrade our current virtual setup.

Yeah his point on that fact that you can experience it was weak. I mean some people cannot experience it for instance they want to experience a concert from one of they favorite artist but well can't (flight price ticket/lodging/administrative paperwork etc...) in this example the VR experience has its sense. But as of now we are not there yet as some technological aspect needs to be worked on imo.

I think this metaverse idea is brilliant, but they should focus on what it can do and what it's capable of doing..if I owned metaverse,i would make it a perfect world for the handicapable people who want to be able to walk,a place where they can walk through parks or climb mountains or walk around New York or London..or that person who can't use their limbs,to be able to pick up a child,or a kitten and a puppy,or go bowling..what about vets with ptsd..put them in a calmer place, mentally ill patients, autistic,or older people who want to go back in time, the 40's and 50's...metaverse can do this and get medical contracts, but they have the wrong staff running it all..they cater to no one in particular and it's not working..focus on where it would work best.. just a thought..

I would love to have access to a metaverse that will give me access to the things that I dont have access to.
For example: an operating room allowing to enter into a surgical intervention. I want to become a virtual surgeon cause I cannot a real one. I would also love to become a fetus inside of a womb for 9 months. I would also love to be a parasite or a bacteria or cancergenic cell inside someone for a period of time. Living in the stomach of somebody else. Or a piece of flesh tissue of the heart of somebody. These are things I cannot experience in my own that I would love to experience.

What is so stupid about meta vision for VR is the 3d avatars, mimicking humans in real time 3d is a too hard problem to chew, we are decades away from jumping over the "uncanny valley",they are not stupid they know that but they thought they were forced to do in order to leverage their past success as a social platform, they must pivot out if this idea of social interactions via 3d avatar FAST, limit social interaction too easier things such as audio or chat and invest their r&d effort in inventing the successor of the mouse to interact in this virtual world in an efficient way ( virtual hands is very intuitive but not efficient at all, raising your arms up in the air is only physically suntainable for 5-10 minutes )

My biggest concern are the glasses. I fly since a few weeks with a FPV drone which uses glasses and this is great for 10 minutes. I think I will be able to push it to be comfortable for 30 minutes efentually. But watching an entire football game or attend a full hour meeting in those glasses, I could not imagine doing that. Well, eventually one will be able to feed the information directly into the brain, then it might become doable. For now, it seems just not to be the right time yet.

The metaverse is next level technology and the future. Unfortunately, this idea was not the making of Mark Zuckerberg. Just as he took Facebook from the original people who conceptualuzed it he took the idea of the metaverse from someone else. The difference is that they were smart enough not to give Mark the whole idea. Its like he gave them the whole voncept of a ferrari but not the engine and how it us built. This is why the metaverse has stuttered. I know the developer personally, and if anyone on this thread is interested in this or wants to get the real metaverse launched, then contact me..

These supposed experts assume everyone thinks like them. I enjoy VR games and spend a few hours every week with diffrent games. I don't care so much about the Metaverse yet but I might someday if it ever works well.

Betting against an entire technology is never smart. The fact that Phil's counter argument is "just go to a soccer game in real life" and "improve the physical world" makes me even more bullish that the AR/VR and consumer blockchain is inevitable.

Generally as a trader we have seen lots of up and down when it comes to investing as a whole, but making a smart move by investing in a profitable way is what we should focus on. For me cryptocurrency mostly bitcoin still remain my best and only area of investment interest.... However i have been able to find a loophole ever since i got into day trading properly backed up with signals and guidance provided by pro trader Andrew Martins . In 8 weeks i was able to grow my 0.9btc portfolio to 6.1 btc, thanks to him.

The metaverse looks like garbage. I would spend time in it if it actually looked good, like the BRINK VR app.

it's an epic fail people barely use 3-D glasses to watch 3-D movies. And yes of course all these people are big believers in it cause they all go make money and profit all of it ironically vertronically the air trono make radio player 1 a reality🤣🤣🤣

I'm not a fan of the metaverse. But I'm not so arrogant and privileged as to believe that others won't find in the metaverse what they are missing, simply because I myself can do the things I want to in the real one. Good things and bad things are going to come out of the metaverse; but what is important is that it'll be DIFFERENT and that is worth your attention more than your judgement.
