The reason somebody said it’s not programmable ammo is because it isn’t. Only the autocannon and recoilless rifle have programmable ammo. Note that it appears on the *left* side of the weapon wheel, and changes the damage type of the existing ammo in your weapon. The RR has one shell and can fire it in either configuration. The autocannon has up to ten shells and can fire them in any configuration. You reload your ammo, which can be used for either. In contrast, the Halt uses two separate magazines. You’re not programming the ammo, you’re using the fire selector, *right* on weapon wheel. This is where you select single, burst, or auto. The Halt has two entirely different magazines each capable of eight rounds. You select between the fire modes. The notable difference is that you have two wholly independent magazines. You can shoot all eight stun rounds then immediately switch to your other magazine without reloading. An autocannon doesn’t load 20 shells in at once. You program the existing ammo before you fire. Related: I liked playing with the Halt even if it’s not my style. Felt fairly good, minus the weapon wheel (that’s a handy tip I learned today though). What I do wish is that we had an alternating fire mode. Let us automatically swap with every trigger pull, utilizing the full 16 rounds without touching the wheel. First shot stun, second damage. It would make the gun more interesting to use in my opinion.
My hope is that the Halt IS intended and isn’t an accidental good weapon. Personally haven’t found any issues with stunning enemies from a long distance. Really helps when a squad mate is being chased and can’t fight back.
@@sgnt117 is intended to be a good weapon. This war bond was made to be the first step into the renaissance. Because the new patch got us to the Renaissance and now we’re climbing even further beyond.
Mr Hunter (OhDough) clearly is burnt out of Helldivers 2. He might hate the game but since it is the content that result in more views, AKA YT money, he is kinda forcibly encouraged to make more HD2 videos without wanting to. Just a theory btw.
Just tried the key bind trick, and it massively improved the feel of the weapon and made it fun to use on bugs. It takes a second to get used to, and you can't do it while ADS'd, but it has to be one of the best tricks
I don't know if Heavy Pen is necessary, but I fully agree that Slugger should hit like a truck: Have way more damage. Thicc might know the breakpoints, but if have to guess, Maybe 400 damage and 50% durable damage would put the Slugger where it should have been since the beginning.
I just want them to give it back its destruction capabilities. Being able to open fences and containers with a shotgun, and why they completely gutted it when they nerfed the poor thing is beyond me
Last night i took halt with hmg to bugs. It felt amazing. Last thing you want is hunters jumping on you with hmg but stun prevents that and gives you time to either one tap them with hmg or with halt. Stunning charger means i can kill them safely with hmg so i can swap thermite to something else. In general it was amazing combo
i found limited success with it against bots, but that's just my playstyle of picking off distant enemies with the DCS it looks amazing against bugs though, practically a better version of the pummeler
Honestly oh dough has been on some stink meaner crap lately when the game was dying, he was defending it with his life but as soon as he got resurrected, he started hating again like what kind of crap is that also Hello thank you for the tutorial.
he wanst defending it, he was thinking criticaly and saying that the majority of the playerbase was hating helldivers for no reason and saying it was gonna die WHICH WAS TRUE, and tbh this just proves his point rn, people have so litle standart that they are saying the weapons are good and they arent. all that he's saying is that the helldivers community didnt learn anything, criticism is what makes a good game
@ I get what you’re saying, but it’s the way he did it because before the update, all of his videos with titled holdovers will make the greatest comeback in history, holdovers will change forever, held over this whole divers that he was glazing the game like no other but as soon as the patch came out, he started hating again. Everybody started saying how they were happy with the patch, how it was good not him again, like stink meaner. It’s basically like shooting the dude multiple times, saving his life just so you can start hating again and start trying to shoot him again. Criticism is good but this is going to far because people who are way better at the game than him oh way smarter than him our way more informed about the game just better overall are satisfied but as soon as you try to say something positive he’ll just say no absolutely garbage no redeeming qualities and it is comical because whenever the community or other UA-camrs say something bad, he says it’s good when they say somethings good he says it’s bad plus here’s the view on weapon Power is immensely flawed he thinks most weapons in the game are constitution level when I say fighting, a single, alpha brewed commander is like fighting a dark souls boss with the constitution I mean it it’s hell or hell even fighting anything more than 2 hive guards he thinks the good weapons are all of the S tier weapons mind you he only thinks they are OK not fantastic no good which is some diabolical work every game needs criticism to get better but he’s just hating to hate at this point also, I’m sorry I made this so long
You raise a valid point If I'm only needing my flamethrower against bugs I never use my primary unless need to so it makes sense to be able to stun instead of throwing a gass grenade
Run it with a fortified or engineering kit armor. I've been using it with the engineering kit light armor from Democratic Detonation on bots and it's dismantling bots left and right.
Sick combo: Halt and guard dog with the medium pen. Shredding devastators and they cant fight back. Bring any support weapon to deal with ships patrols and or tanks. The rest is optional
I'm surprised you didn't mention one of the best tricks in the game for this shotgun and others like it, because i see you doing it in the video. If you spam the reload key between each shot you skip the pumping animation and instead load another shell so you effectively get infinite magazine without lowering your fire rate, feels really fun to do on kbm too.
For controller players, I recommend using Long Press for both inputs since it is also the reload button; if you're using a support weapon like the Railgun, reloading will keep changing the gun from Safe to Unsafe mode, for example.
Really fun Halt build I just ran for bugs: Halt (duh) Grenade pistol Thermite nades Orbital precision Eagle cluster Jet pack Flamethrower Salamander armor set (heavy armor, fire resist) Now the real kicker: Dead sprint + vitality boosters (need a squad mate to bring the 2nd one) Heavy armor is actually fairly tanky now after the buff, and with the buffed jet pack and dead sprint + vitality boosters, mobility is really not too bad at all. And you can sit at like 1/2 - 2/3 health and be fine without a stim bc you can still take another hit or 2 with the heavy armor. With all of that and the fire resist, you can actually make 4 stims last quite a while bc you’re not constantly almost-dying to your own flames. Just stun mobs to line up OPS hits or just flame em to death, eagle cluster if there’re a bit too many mobs for your liking, and jet pack out if things get a bit too hairy. Did a rank 10 bug dive with ~450 kills and only 1 death with this setup. Super fun to play, and you actually feel decently tanky which is really nice.
You know one way we can make weapons more viable is making enemy constellations during mission select. I notice that crossbows and plasma guns are godlike against bile enemies but can be tricky against large swarms of hunters in other constellations. Being able to plan around enemy build compositions would drastically make weapon choices feel more impactful than personal preference or meta. Here are some basic constellation concepts if they don't already have it. These aren't the exclusive enemies in the map but are the dominant one. Bots: Infantry Army: large number of raider bots, devastators and scout striders. Vanguard Army: berserkers and hulks. Armored Corps: tanks amd factory striders with noticeably few medium guys. Bugs: Scouting Brood: Hunters, Shriekers and guaranteed Stalker Nests. Battle Brood: Warriors, Hiveguards and Chargers. Bile Brood: Spewers and Titans.
Good video Thicc, been watching since game released. Love the podcast streams with everyone on talking bout the games, keeps me sane at work, you should do more.
a fun build I did with the halt was using AMR + jetpack + halt + thermite +senator with light armor and ran that in the bot front, it translated into unparalleled movility with strong close range firepower, you ran from cover to cover and basically acted like the jumpack bots but on them, very fun if hard to play, and lets you quickly drop thermites on fabricators tanks and the like while you do all of that, the stun was very good for avoiding certain death and the flechette was awesome to deal with anything close to you, senator and AMR for range/hulks/cannon towers/gunships
11:36 just wanna say keep up the build recommendations. I love challenging myself to try to play this game in different ways. It keeps the game so fresh and it’s fun to learn.
I love this gun. I love the Punishers and the utility this brings is insane, making it viable on both bugs AND bots. Being able to stun allows my teammates to focus down certain targets while also preventing incoming fire or bug advancement. The spread also means that I can stun an entire breach or drop with a few shots. And the flachette rounds are great as well. Pair that with the Senator and after stunning the enemy, just punch a couple golf ball sized hole through them. Probably my favorite gun rn
They could add a passive that buffs team mates and you when they are near you. Something like insparation, where it gives you bonus sprint time, damage resistance, health regen, reload speed, increaced damage or something to that effect. I feel as though that could encourage people to stick together. But make it wide enough so the squad dosen't die to a single exposive or bile.
Love the video and been loving the new SMG! I'm like 99% sure it is modeled after the H&K MP5 because of the iconic slap to chamber the round from empty
Tbf the blitzer also has a stun affect on it now. I haven't actually tried it yet as I've been on a scythe binge, enjoying my best 100m scope life, but I would be interested in seeing testing between the two stun affects. I don't think there would be any targets the blitzer could stun that the halt couldn't, but maybe? It was also listed as a weak stun affect, which I think is in reference to the duration as I've seen the arc thrower since it got that affect and the stun doesn't seem to last very long. I think all the specialty armors (inflammable, electric etc) should have something like the +25 armor rating because it would just be a micro padded armor perk. It would be the easiest way to make them a lot more usable not just in their specific roles (50 armor inflammable feels awful when the flaming hunter did 90% of your hp and you still burn to death in the second to pull out the stim anyway) but they could just be used as slightly work padded armor sets. It's baffling that we have a ton of variety light armors, and only 1 medium. And like it's an insane one, 129 AR explosive resist still feels like the best of both worlds. The only exception is Peak Physic. Not because it's OP, but because they should give each armor set like, +25 to it's speed and stamina stats. Give us the speed and stamina to make the most of that 50% melee damage. Plus it would again just be a more interesting choice as you can get the more speed for your weight class but no other utility or defensive bonuses so you have to maximize that speed.
i firmly believe that flinch resistance should be a stat with every armor, like speed, armor, and stamina regeneration, scaling a higher stat the heavier the armor. or at the very least, make unflinching a booster?? if you’re not getting hit by enemies, the unflinching armor passive is essentially useless.
Stun rounds have so much utility and great synergy with support weaponds & stratagems. Flcehette rounds don’t feel good when shooting at chaff enemies, wide spreadshots and not a whole lot of one shot kills. I already tried FT + Halt and I could stop groups of enemies on top of fire puddles.
My very first use with it I wasn't impressed, I think I just wanted the medium pen rounds to punch harder... However I did decide to give it another go but this time not with it as my sole damage dealer, paired with the Rover and a machine gun turret, set the gun to stun and just start blasting into the crowds... I really appreciated what it brought to the group.
Do you have your specs listed anywhere? This is maybe the first video of yours where I've seen any frame drops, so I guess it's not a 4080 or anything insane like that. I'm so used to HD2 content running at a pristine 60 that now Im curious how I compare, given that I basically dont go above 30 during the action
Thx for the tip with keybinding! I was using Halt and it's amazing (my setup is for bugs halt + mg + guard dog, for bots halt + laser cannon + jet pack) but w/o this tip i was using it mostly as a stun gun, now i can try it on full potential :). btw. Halt is also great for "engineer" build, turrets with or w/o guard dog, You guarding turrets and they do killing. You are Halting enemies ^^ and do maintenance ;) Also as a true support You can take stim pistol with that :) Also (don't testet yet) with AMR for bots Halt should be good :) And yes, Halt is very good weapon mainly because it opens new gamestyles and enchance some older ones. This weapon isn't OP but in combination with other weapons/strats You can be OP :)
What they could do for the elemental resistance armors is add the full effect of extra padding to them on top of their respective elemental resistance. Then to keep normal extra padding armor from just being obsolete compared to the elemental ones, they could receive an impact damage resistance perk as well.
I'm glad some people are enjoying Truth Enforcers. I haven't given up on it yet, but so far it's really not for me. I think even just adding recoil reduction to the armors passive effect would massively change my opinion b/c it would help smooth over the drawbacks of the reprimand. Gonna play around with it a bit more and try to find some appreciation.
@thiccfila Yeah that was actually the weapon I was initially most intrigued by. I like this binding tip that you and others are sharing but it seems like a better solution for mouse and key players. I will try it, but the bindings on controller don't feel as versatile to me. It usually feels like I mess things up when I change them and usually revert back to default. If any controller users who have had a good experience with this wanna chime in, I'd like to hear what other people are using. I want to love this weapon!
I think they should add not only 25 extra armour rating, but also 10% explosion stun/ragdoll resistance to the amour passive (I don't know how much 10% would do on that matter, but something going in that direction). So you don't get knocked down by nearby explosions as easy, since you will probably use this armours primarely on the bot-side and if you are knocked around by explosions, not flinching won't help, since you can't shoot in those situations anyways.
Nice vid as usual thicc. Haven't been in game for a while (work sucks). Want to unlock the new warbond, but getting super creds feels like it takes a lot longer than it used (~ pre freedom flame)? Could be wrong. I'd rather play real missions than farm creds on lvl 1.
I wish they added unflinching to all heavy armor and came up with a new passive. Maybe we do more damage when below 100% heath to pair with the new booster?
If that guy really wants to get technical, he is wrong by saying that the Halt does not use programmable ammo. Yes you load different tubes for the ammo type you switch to, however they all use the same ammo pool which means they can be programmed to stun or flechette. Maybe the weapon tube is what tells the rounds which ammo type it will be set to.
Think I said this on the last vid but imma say it again here to spread the idea. On console they should make use of adaptive triggers for ammo types. First half of the aim trigger pull is ammo A, second half is ammo B, and add resistance at the halfway point for the clear and comfortable switch. Make it an optional setting, keep the current swap method as well for accessibility, and hip fire can default to the last used ammo type. Problem solved. Pc is pc, they can just get another key press.
The more I used this thing, the more I loved it. Earlier, we had the Thermite come out and free you from the shackles of anti-tank. Now the Halt may finally try freeing me, personally, from the shackles of stun grenades. I appreciate the attempt.
Idea for the ballistic shield pack: -a deployable mode so it becomes static cover, similar to Japanese Tate/Tedate shields: imagine pushing a enemy position with the shield and a verdict, then when you face berserkers or get close enough, you hunker down and pull out the slugger to dance around your new cover will pumpin' lead. When you're done, you just pick back up your shield and move on -a que system for cooldown (similar to eagle) to lean into deployable static defense and make up for its destructibility against canon projectiles and while the pack is not equipped -extra: a flinch response to a bit of explosive damage as opposed to instant ragdoll (devastator rockets mainly) to make up for speed debuf and narrow FOV when aiming down sights
Are one handed primaries that big a deal? Genuinely asking because i don't find the ballistic shield that useful in my experience with it, and i almost never see any of my teammates use it. And ssd missions, you're only carrying it for a small amount of time. Also there's a lot of decent secondaries now I'm fine with for those situations like the dagger, senator, etc
I think people are just a little disappointed because it just makes the shield even less viable than it already is in addition to the fact that it doesn’t make a lot of sense
People don't use it because unless you're using the crossbow it just sucks. All the other options are bad because on bots medium pen is king. The shield itself also needs a buff.
Thanks for the responses! I definitely agree the ballistic shield needs some kind of buff. With the jump pack being very viable now, it's time for the shield to join the other backpacks
I played with the new primary's for several missions and I have mixed feelings about them. (All level 10 difficulty) SMG feels so good, until there are 5+ enemies nearby. Decided to look at the stats and it makes sense why. It's just an SMG version of the DCS with 10more rounds but 75 less damage per round. Idk. It would be dope if it had heavy pen instead. With the way it sounds while shooting plus how it would perform it just would make sense. While the DCS would be great at range and getting 1taps at medium to long range, the Reprimand would be good at medium to close ranges when you need to kill things quick. Now the Halt... It just really made it feel like both the weapons were Off-Brand versions of weapons we already have. Not even side grades just off brand... With the halt having to swap to utilize the elemental features it comes with, but it's so unituative makes it so lackluster. If i could stun and have my fletchet rounds ready immediately i'd be happy. I get it. key bindings, whatever, but i guess since i'm also reloading per round when using the fletchet rounds it makes it difficult to swap mid combat. It's good if i'm bored and want my allies to kill more enemies. I can just keep them all stunned. As if i was using any other weapon i could also keep the enemies off them by killing them. I don't see a reason why these two weapons and the Eruptor aren't heavy pen. Stun rounds on the hault can easily be med pen since the stun grenades just stun everything anyways.
With the Jin Roh inspired armor medium machine gun, MMG turret ballistic guard dog 500 kilo plus termites The build variety in this game is insane now everything is valuable whatever you want use
It does seem to struggle on the bots a lot. it takes a heavily amount of shots to take down a strider and ive even struggled against the chainsaw bots, it feels like it takes 4 shots sometimes, even if hit on the weakspots. The stun can be useful for support, esp if a hulk is chasing someone, i found out that i can snipe a hulk and if i see a hitmarker, it stuns them. Id rather have the SMG, since it one taps devestators and normal bots, half a mag kills striders and it has 9 mags of 25 rounds. id go as far as saying its better than the assault rifles, its also very effective on bugs, takes out warriors in like 2 shots and hive guards in 4. Its very satisfying! esp if u reload bef you completely run out, its like the AC, almost instant back to firing again
I really like the new armor passive on bots when I’m using any weapon that you need to charge. I used to not be a big fan of charged weapons because I would always get flinched and I don’t like the shield generator backpack but with the passive I can keep my jump pack and use a charge weapon. I do think that it is funny there is no heavy armor with it though. I would have liked to see that.
I’m sure the Halt is using programmable ammo because you use the same stock of 60 shells for both ammo types, it doesn’t matter that you just put one in one tube and one in the other. Unless each tube magically Imbues that shell with either medium penetration or stun capability, it’s a programmable ammo.
No WAY halt is better than cookout. No way. I like the halt. I think it’s good, top five shotguns for sure. Cookout and breaker incen are definitely better. Stun is good utility though that’s true. That being said I am continuing to use the halt because the stun is too fun.
Due to recent buffs, I feel like if you go pure stun to support others, you end up feeling like you shoulda just gone DPS, like everyone else. Perhaps when higher difficulties come out and people start actually being overwhelmed again. Or we actually have a reason for teamplay. We can't even stun the heaviest enemies at all, not even with the STRATAGEM for stun builds. I don't have any friends who love me enough to try this, but I have an idea that this weapon would be GREAT to duo with the Bayonet. But that's purely for memes and fun. It would be effective, but in comparison to both of you just bringing DEATH to things from range, instantly? It's pretty fun to stun and slap with this thing and peak physique. Nice ammo conservation. Again more a meme than anything else, but it's fun. Solo, though. Teammates just shoot you in the back if you play melee on random games :D
Why did people hate on the Sterilizer but the like the Halt? It's pretty much the name thing in stun mode. It gives some short range crowd control, but not much more. And if you have to pair it with a dog to really be viable, is it that good? Especially for a primary, if it has to lean on my backpack slot to work at high diffs, I think it needs tweaking.
because when enemies were confused by sterilizer they could still randomly hit you. for what its worth i like the sterilizer, but you have to admit for the first 10 seconds you're gassing enemies it feels like you're doing nothing.
Love you thicc, no idea how people are saying the guns suck?? The armour maybe but ive been playing with them for like less than an hour and they are super fun, at the very worst decent? like they are playing a different game lol
my first thoughts on the shotgun was that I needed to play it more and it would grow on me. and I was right lol.... especially if you put the fast swap keybind
For the SMG, I'm mostly concerned with the rounds in the mag. It needs more rounds in the mags or more mags with faster reload, because killing only 3 shield devastators worth in a mag then having a 3 second reload does not feel good. The scorcher shares this same problem too, it just does not dispatch enough enemies in a short amount of time
The funny thing about the HOLT, it kinda opens up the _theory_ that they could CONDENSE the Shotgun Category with "switchable" ammo. Like just for an obvious example, Combine the Punisher and Slugger together Boom, 8 buckshot or 8 Slugs as needed. Having tried both the new guns on Super Helldiver (still grinding that XP), they both feel good to have. About the only thing the Holt lacks compared to the OG Punisher is a Choke to narrow its spread. But having another Med pen shotgun is nice, and it has Utility with the Stun rounds. The Reprimand though.... I LIKE IT cus its the first SMG with medium pen, but man that Full Auto Recoil is INTENSE, you really got to burst fire that sucker. And..... yet another SMG that does more damage then the Assault Rifles cus Low RPM. (that will never stop being funny) I honestly have no complaints with this Warbond, you can even get both Primary weapons with 1 full stack of Medels..... Which very SUSPCIOUSLY will leave you 1 medal short of unlocking page 3. I see what they did their.... and I can never unsee it.
The 250 medal limit is designed so you cannot unlock all 3 pages in a premium warbond. They do not want players to blitz through a warbond by "pre-grinding".
@@jaywerner8415 Right, but its just how it is, 250 medals will never be enough to unlock all stuff in a premium warbond, its by design. Nothing suspicious about it.
I doubt I’ll get an answer from fila this late but HOW do you use the flamer throwers in this patch? Tried it last night and this morning but I have not been successful with it. Takes a full mag to kill a single charger, I somehow always set myself on fire even though there are no flames near me like wtf. Used to love it pre nerf too.
The level of button and key customizing that is baked into the game system is often overlooked. That you can set tap, double tap, press, long press and hold on most buttons opens up SO MANY key schemes to make accessing things simpler. Folks usually have to 3rd party macro the hell out of their layouts to get the same functionality this game offers.
I just wish the ammo type switching could be binded to a key, the only downside( for me at least ) is the time it takes to switch between rounds it ain't that long of paper, but the whole process feels clunky
Thicc, you playing with Flame Thrower vs bot it is like seeing a piece of art, hearing an opera or a violin concert. Magnifique! Seriously, so satisfying to see the bots burning to the ground O7
This warbond and the game are S tier right now. Played both factions last night looking like a sith trooper with whiskey, edible and randos for hours. Democracy was spread
How about Armor have 2 Passives and a shared Quirk of the Like all Heavy armor types have the unflinching quirk and 2 passives like 50% reducment of a damage type + like +2 throwables. medium armor Quirk maybe better gun Controll since the heavy armor may be hinderance operating a weapon and light not the giving as good ability to brace recoil. Light armor quirk moving speed increased while crouching and prone since its easiest to move in it making it best to move around unnoticed.
I'm really confused that you emphasize the stun of this shotgun making it the "5th best gun" when the blitzer does the EXACT same thing but AOE and it kills almost everything
I noticed in one of the flamethrower clips you aimed the flames at the feet of a Hulk and killed it super quickly. Is that like an actual weakpoint for the flamethrower or was it just a coincidence?
its just the fastest way to kill a hulk, also when you break the leg armor it staggers whatever attack its doing, flamethrower is a flame hulks weakness, if you get the jump on a rocket hulk you can kill them before they shoot
No SMGs are designed for one handed use as that is not a smart idea. I only ever heard of one prototype, the Viper MK1, that was designed with one handed use in mind and that was a failure too.
ok so, pairing this weapon with the crisper is honestly pretty nice for chargers, just stun their butt and burn their butt, simple as also hi thicc hi hiiii :333
Hey ThiccFilA look at the riot shield first person mode with all sidearms i think it must be a bug i would make a video on it the devs are more likely to see it if its from u
You mean higher risks since the Crisper's range means that a strider can walk one step towards you and stomp you, and you're not dodging rockets with so little distance.
Or when the pummeler could stun and do damage at the same time. My bottom line is the halt is kinda odd. Good support for your support weapons though.. which is the most i can ask from a primary in this game.
5:06 what is this heinous slander being thrown at the Punisher? If the Halt has a similar accuracy/spread as the Punisher then the new SMG has similar accurate as any of the sniper rifles in the game... maybe not that big of a difference but it is a big difference, Punisher has most/all its pellets clumped up in a tight cone while the Halt just throws them out like the Cookout, less of a cone and more of a wide wall area. Oh it was either worded oddly or I am just stupid, you were saying its NOT like the Punisher?
i didnt slander the punisher lol i literally used to always run it. and i was using the new shotgun from punisher ranges at first til i realized it had wider spread
@@thiccfila Yeah what made things confusing was the part between 4:55 and 5:12 "But even with the medium pen rounds sometimes you can find yourself not one-shotting smaller enemies and this is simply due to the larger spray that this shotgun has, it is a Punisher variant so for anyone that uses the Punisher or the Cookout you might be used to that sort of spread on your shotgun......" After that you did explain that its more like the Incendiary Breaker than the Punisher or Cookout its just worded a bit weirdly. Still you are comparing the Punisher spread with the Cookout, that is also heinous slander! 😅
Yeah when people keep calling this bad i feel like they're not getting used to it because if used right its definetly really strong weapon, not everything has to be a cookout or breaker incendiary lil bro.
@@KerriganTyranidHe's giving feedback, he's not complaining. And I find it very concerning that if someone's giving feedback and you don't agree with it then you just try to dismiss their opinion by saying that they are complaining. You do know how we got these 60-day patches right? We got it because people were giving feedback (yet some people sounded similar to you, would say that those same people would be complaining) And if you actually look online, even before he posted those videos, people were talking about how the SMG has way too much recoil, too small of a mag, and a super slow reload. If all of the weapons in the war Bond got buffed I don't think anyone would complain. I think the pistol is fine, the shotguns is all right, but I do agree with a lot of the community that the SMG needs some more love
@ThePackman627 And predictably the moandivers from here and /r are now taking credit for the game being improved. Constructive criticism, not incessant whining, is what the devs listened to. If they'd listened to the moaners we'd have a whole range of primaries that annihilate everything up to heavies. People crying their eyes out about how everything new in this game is terrible honestly need to go find something else to play and (in the case of UA-camrs) farm for views/likes.
@@ThePackman627 I saw u use this "He is giving feeback" excuse everywhere. Feedback = Opinion. There are widely accepted opinions, there are divisive opinions and there are stupid opinions. He is posting publicly his opinions and people have the same right to agree, partialy agree or call his opinion bullshit. By what i am seeing people commenting (myself included) everywhere, his recent opinion about the Truth Enforcers warbond ranges from divisive to stupid opinions.
I'm sorry Why do yall youtubers keep calling ammo types the "programmable ammo"? Programmable ammo only referred to autocannon shells being programmed to proximity fuze (Pilestedt spoke in very real life terms) In recoiless it's just a switch on each shell And for this shotgun is just switch between ammo tubes

If they gave us a one button hotkey for ammo swapping it would be perfect.
the tip is in the video for the workaround until they do :)
@@thiccfila i'm so glad i watched this video to learn that this exists; should also be useful for reprimand/adjudicator/machine guns
Personally, I would love an option to double tap the reload button for ammo swapping
you would think
But both types of ammo still come from a common pool when you load them. So it's still programmable. It's just not RE-programmable.

My hope is that the Halt IS intended and isn’t an accidental good weapon.
Personally haven’t found any issues with stunning enemies from a long distance. Really helps when a squad mate is being chased and can’t fight back.

Your speaking heresy. Oh dough says everything in the warbond sucks so you must be a glazer obviously

Just tried the key bind trick, and it massively improved the feel of the weapon and made it fun to use on bugs. It takes a second to get used to, and you can't do it while ADS'd, but it has to be one of the best tricks

THEY NEED TO BUFF THE EFFING SLUGGER ALREADY!
IMO Slugger will definately need Heavy pen now
@@RadicallyMilkToast Agreed
I don't know if Heavy Pen is necessary, but I fully agree that Slugger should hit like a truck: Have way more damage. Thicc might know the breakpoints, but if have to guess, Maybe 400 damage and 50% durable damage would put the Slugger where it should have been since the beginning.
Just give it higher damage&higher stagger force is good enough i think.
more accuracy would also be nice, it's unlikely to hit big bot heads at a distance
In general it was amazing combo
i found limited success with it against bots, but that's just my playstyle of picking off distant enemies with the DCS
it looks amazing against bugs though, practically a better version of the pummeler
Charger stun doesn’t work properly, but other than that it’s a solid weapon

Everybody started saying how they were happy with the patch, how it was good not him again, like stink meaner. You raise a valid point
If I'm only needing my flamethrower against bugs I never use my primary unless need to so it makes sense to be able to stun instead of throwing a gass grenade
I love the new shotgun and smg but the smg can use a little bit of a recoil tweak to make it a bit better.
agree
I don’t mind the recoil, I just hate that the reload takes a full 3 seconds, it sucks, especially considering the magazine size.
it hits like a truck. all it needs is a little quicker reload
Run it with a fortified or engineering kit armor. I've been using it with the engineering kit light armor from Democratic Detonation on bots and it's dismantling bots left and right.
Sick combo:
Halt and guard dog with the medium pen.
New warbond probably has the best color scheme so far
Really fun Halt build I just ran for bugs:
Halt (duh)
Grenade pistol
Thermite nades
Orbital precision
Eagle cluster
Jet pack
Flamethrower
Salamander armor set (heavy armor, fire resist)
Now the real kicker:
Dead sprint + vitality boosters (need a squad mate to bring the 2nd one)
Heavy armor is actually fairly tanky now after the buff, and with the buffed jet pack and dead sprint + vitality boosters, mobility is really not too bad at all.
Bots:
Infantry Army: large number of raider bots, devastators and scout striders.
Vanguard Army: berserkers and hulks.
Armored Corps: tanks amd factory striders with noticeably few medium guys.
Bugs:
Scouting Brood: Hunters, Shriekers and guaranteed Stalker Nests.
Battle Brood: Warriors, Hiveguards and Chargers.
Bile Brood: Spewers and Titans.
there are more likely constellations on mission types you may have noticed, there are some guides out there
Good video Thicc, been watching since game released. Love the podcast streams with everyone on talking bout the games, keeps me sane at work, you should do more.
we do them every week, its this monday :)
a fun build I did with the halt was using AMR + jetpack + halt + thermite +senator with light armor and ran that in the bot front, it translated into unparalleled movility with strong close range firepower, you ran from cover to cover and basically acted like the jumpack bots but on them, very fun if hard to play, and lets you quickly drop thermites on fabricators tanks and the like while you do all of that, the stun was very good for avoiding certain death and the flechette was awesome to deal with anything close to you, senator and AMR for range/hulks/cannon towers/gunships
This with the Guard Dogs Liberator or Laser are so good together. Either setting on the shotty works fine. Such a powerful combo
HALT! you forgot to like the video first.

Love the video and been loving the new SMG! I'm like 99% sure it is modeled after the H&K MP5 because of the iconic slap to chamber the round from empty
4:29 That was diabolical using the jetpack + how it places your weapon to have the flamethrower finish off the tank holy hell
You are Halting enemies ^^ and do maintenance ;) Also as a true support You can take stim pistol with that :)
Also (don't testet yet) with AMR for bots Halt should be good :)
And yes, Halt is very good weapon mainly because it opens new gamestyles and enchance some older ones.
Gonna play around with it a bit more and try to find some appreciation.
the halt is the star of the warbond
Lvl 10s mega base I heard spawns less POIs. So if you wanna play real games do lvl 9s
If you bind weapon wheel to the same button as right wheel on control and set to press it will switch with one button press
The more I used this thing, the more I loved it. Earlier, we had the Thermite come out and free you from the shackles of anti-tank. Now the Halt may finally try freeing me, personally, from the shackles of stun grenades. I appreciate the attempt.
Idea for the ballistic shield pack:
-a deployable mode so it becomes static cover, similar to Japanese Tate/Tedate shields: imagine pushing a enemy position with the shield and a verdict, then when you face berserkers or get close enough, you hunker down and pull out the slugger to dance around your new cover will pumpin' lead. When you're done, you just pick back up your shield and move on
-a que system for cooldown (similar to eagle) to lean into deployable static defense and make up for its destructibility against canon projectiles and while the pack is not equipped
-extra: a flinch response to a bit of explosive damage as opposed to instant ragdoll (devastator rockets mainly) to make up for speed debuf and narrow FOV when aiming down sights
The shield itself also needs a buff.
bcus it gives shield builder a med pen weapon and 1 hand is kind of the smg signature feature.
Thanks for the responses! I definitely agree the ballistic shield needs some kind of buff. With the jump pack being very viable now, it's time for the shield to join the other backpacks
I played with the new primary's for several missions and I have mixed feelings about them.
(All level 10 difficulty)
SMG feels so good, until there are 5+ enemies nearby.
This is such a fun weapon. It actually feels like a support weapon! 😀
With the Jin Roh inspired armor medium machine gun, MMG turret ballistic guard dog 500 kilo plus termites
The build variety in this game is insane now everything is valuable whatever you want use
Hitting a hive guard with 2 head shots and killing it is super satisfying. Even the Jar5, my other favorite primary, takes 3 shots.
Armors having one passive is always so annoying. Literally give anything extra to the armor, and we'll all be happy!
I think ammo type swap should be bound to the scroll wheel. Scroll up for type 2 scroll down to use base type. Or press on the wheel to swap
The scorcher shares this same problem too, it just does not dispatch enough enemies in a short amount of time
@@DrIsis More rounds in the mag would be good for sure. The reload on the smg is very short if you leave a bullet in the mag before reloading. Try it.
@DrIsis honestly, I think a mag of 30 and less spread. I would absolutely love it
@@DrIsis How many Devastators (a tier 1 Elite enemy) do you want to kill with 1 mag of a SMG?
@@Misfiring89 You usually CAN unlock all the pages, not buy everything but at least unlock all the pages.
First person sets me on fire less. Also flamer have damage fall off so you need to be as close as possible to your target

I just wish the ammo type switching could be binded to a key, the only downside( for me at least ) is the time it takes to switch between rounds
it ain't that long of paper, but the whole process feels clunky
I love how evil this black armor looks. These devs know what people want
I do hope AH buffs the Pummeler now that Halt is on the scene, Halt just feels so much nicer in terms of usability compared to the Pummeler.
Gather up bugs in a line chasing you, herd them with stun rounds, drop eagle strafe. 44 kills.
I'm really confused that you emphasize the stun of this shotgun making it the "5th best gun" when the blitzer does the EXACT same thing but AOE and it kills almost everything
You should go to the shooting range one day its super fun
Thicc might like stun
now they need to un nerf the pummeler while this gun exists
I noticed in one of the flamethrower clips you aimed the flames at the feet of a Hulk and killed it super quickly. Is that like an actual weakpoint for the flamethrower or was it just a coincidence?
its just the fastest way to kill a hulk, also when you break the leg armor it staggers whatever attack its doing, flamethrower is a flame hulks weakness, if you get the jump on a rocket hulk you can kill them before they shoot
I hate how inaccurate the heavy smg is, its like a smooth bore musket its so bad.
No SMGs are designed for one handed use as that is not a smart idea. I only ever heard of one prototype, the Viper MK1, that was designed with one handed use in mind and that was a failure too.
Best shotgun Is blitzer... Second one would most likely be incendiary one or another, then halt...
My only issue on the ammo is every other gun that has it is its on the right rather than left
ok so, pairing this weapon with the crisper is honestly pretty nice for chargers, just stun their butt and burn their butt, simple as
also hi thicc hi hiiii :333
hi sora :)
Hey ThiccFilA look at the riot shield first person mode with all sidearms i think it must be a bug i would make a video on it the devs are more likely to see it if its from u
you can take the ballistic shield backpack and the crisper if you want to burn the bots with lower risks
i like risks
You mean higher risks since the Crisper's range means that a strider can walk one step towards you and stomp you, and you're not dodging rockets with so little distance.
@@Misfiring89 No the rockets maybe but the strider no
Rememeber when the slugger would stun and deal actual full damage at a range that wasnt point blank.
Or when the pummeler could stun and do damage at the same time.
My bottom line is the halt is kinda odd. Good support for your support weapons though.. which is the most i can ask from a primary in this game.
They need to make a new macro for Toggle Programmable Ammo.
_EDIT: I see there's a workaround. Thanks for the tip!_
@@thiccfila Yeah what made things confusing was the part between 4:55 and 5:12
"But even with the medium pen rounds sometimes you can find yourself not one-shotting smaller enemies and this is simply due to the larger spray that this shotgun has, it is a Punisher variant so for anyone that uses the Punisher or the Cookout you might be used to that sort of spread on your shotgun......"
After that you did explain that its more like the Incendiary Breaker than the Punisher or Cookout its just worded a bit weirdly.
Still you are comparing the Punisher spread with the Cookout, that is also heinous slander! 😅
i really think the ammo type swap should remain on LMB like all the other ammo type swaps on support weapons
But what happened to the pummeler?
didnt explain the mousewheel very well. why is that faster? seems slower
Halt, Listen to General Thiccus.
It needs dead space series’ alternative shooting button
Anyone else having problems with the game remembering which firing mode you have thr Halt on? Every other weapons remembers but THIS one for Me. Lol
i feel like the stun round should be medium pen
I try to stun hulk but it didn't stun.... For charger it stun when u aim for his mouth.... So best but not the best at the same time xD
Medium pen ARs need to feel like the new smg. I want my liberator penetrator to do that kinda dmg.
On bugs it's amazing true, on bots it's terrible...
Yeah when people keep calling this bad i feel like they're not getting used to it because if used right its definetly really strong weapon, not everything has to be a cookout or breaker incendiary lil bro.
the best weapon !!!!!! heard it here 1ST
Seems like the helldivers community is having a civil war… I personally love this warbond.
I only saw one UA-camr complaining, like always, and influencing other people to cry too.
@@KerriganTyranidHe's giving feedback, he's not complaining.
And I find it very concerning that if someone's giving feedback and you don't agree with it then you just try to dismiss their opinion by saying that they are complaining.
You do know how we got these 60-day patches right? We got it because people were giving feedback (yet some people sounded similar to you, would say that those same people would be complaining)
And if you actually look online, even before he posted those videos, people were talking about how the SMG has way too much recoil, too small of a mag, and a super slow reload.
If all of the weapons in the war Bond got buffed I don't think anyone would complain.
I think the pistol is fine, the shotguns is all right, but I do agree with a lot of the community that the SMG needs some more love
@@ThePackman627There is a HUGE difference between giving actual feedback and complaining like a b1tch. That is what you don't understand.
The halt isn’t the best shotgun, its just the only one that ALSO comes with the crazy stun rounds.
I'm sorry
Why do yall youtubers keep calling ammo types the "programmable ammo"?
Programmable ammo only referred to autocannon shells being programmed to proximity fuze (Pilestedt spoke in very real life terms)
In recoiless it's just a switch on each shell
And for this shotgun is just switch between ammo tubes
This warbond should have been democracy protects. Put unflinching on all heavy armor.
Using the halt isn't difficult. its just training the memory muscle. Even with real guns you have to train to become a john wick.
