I'd love to see Void Stone, Jade Emp crown, Void Shield, and Runic Shield come back in some way even if they wouldn't have any power attached. Those passives still have a niche in the current item set and could be valuable in specific games
Thank you for making this video! After playing smite for almost 9 years, I still learnt a lot from this video, everything explained are simple and crystal clear but yet very informative! I NEVER know that is how protections are calculated.
All of these are important effect to take into account with respect to different God kits. For instance, stealing protections with Guan Yu 3 and using percent pen doesn't work as well as using flat pen or armor reduction. Knowing how these mechanics work with respect to your kit can make all the difference in a match.
This is good info! I think there's an opportunity to talk about % damage increase (effectively negative mitigations) in this series, and I think you could have used Stone of Binding for the flat pen reduction but overall good info
Inbowned did a great job explaining these concepts in the video and I’m sure he’ll be talking about some more stuff similar to this in the future. Until then if you are interested in more of the math involved in how the game works please look up WORD OF THOTH. I don’t know if it’s been updated since season 7 (so a lot of the gold and xp values for things will be out of date) but it does a very great job explaining concepts in this video and all kinds of other information. Smite would be a utopia if everyone playing it read that pdf.
Pumping that good content dawg. Maybe items like silver branch, runic, celestial legion helm, the power shredders on the next one. Hirez kinda stopped playing with power shred items
Love this video! And I’m not going to mention Ao Kuang Support with War Banner, Prof Cloak, berserkers, sho guns, telk ring, and cyclop ring! I would never mention that on this video because of how good this video is! Great job Bobby!
One thing you didn't cover (or I might have missed it) is how proc damage from items is calculated (e.g. soul reaver, qins). It's obvious from reading it how it is scaled, and anyone that looks at it would know that if they want to do more damage to opponents with a lot of health should build them, but do protections also effect their potency? If so does penetration/armour reduction?
^ That's very true, hopefully someone who know this can explain! Does qins damage get deducted by prots or straight % of their health? Pretty sure it will still be reduced by mitigation.
This is a great video, I been trying to find build guides n such so I can stop practicing against bots lol. I been looking for a discord to join that would help people learn if there's such a thing, also I'm on psn. Keep up those great videos.😊
Pretty sure ik the answer to this one but anyways; does overcapping prots increase your prots when you get reduced below cap, e.g. having 350 prots, getting reduced by 50, will the overcapped 25 prots get counted in anyway or are they just dead? Nice explanation by the way!
Question Bobby, how exactly does dmg increase (like spear of the magus passive) work? It’s a multiplier like mitigations I get that but do they essentially cancel out or say with magus you do 107.5% dmg and then after that mitigations apply?

You've been on fire with the youtube game, love the dedication 👏
Thank you!
my favorite smite youtuber so far! Make me want to play support ahah
This is a phenomenal video Bobby, great content

This video really IS very informative and should be for NEW players, but dude... 9 years and you don't know how the game works.
@@Sp1rK So? I'm just saying i never know that formula. Is your life that boring that you have to draw attention in a youtube comment?

stone of binding is hands down my favorite. Not only does it prob extremely easily, takes away a lot of ports it also gives very good defense

I think this is the best vid describing this subject, thank you!!

It will be reduced by protections and mitigations the same as normal damage!

are you including the base stats? for example odin has 86 physical protection at lvl 20
Thank you for the explanation, sir.

Is CCR protection important as a support
So basically no need to build pen if your opponent not building defense items?

Think of it as a temporary boost to damage, mitigations can only apply when you receive damage so they can only ever apply after the spear proc.
Can you do a moui build
Sentinel's embrace, thebes, spirit's robe, binding, and two flex items based on what you need to survive
You could go Boon if you are tanking towers and targeting backline
@@wheeliesmalls9464 Don't think boon is worth at all. maybe on Fafnir
Buff tanks
It’s all fun and games untill herc pops his 3
