I'd love to hear this guitar in the 2nd position. I suspect you get a modified strat quack that is very interesting. My next guitar build will be a Tele bridge plate and pickup with strat pickups in the middle & neck.
I wonder if a trem lock/stopper would resolve the tuning issues for steel bends? Put it on for country gigs/recording, and then remove it for other styles.
As a strat guy who plays for country artists, this is about to solve a lot for me man. Great video.
It definitely will. I was also a strat guy but working with country artists converted me to the tele. However I still prefer strats for comfort.

Honestly did not strike me as something very different but I should have made a comparison to a strat, you are right.

I think so, but I never tried one.
@@BluesWillisMusic I’ve never tried one either. I didn’t really know why people use them, but it seems like a possible solution here.
It sounded close enough to the real tele, I think, but more importantly, the tele pickup sounded MUCH better than the strat pickup.
I generally prefer tele pickups to strats but as far as strats go I think it is a pretty nice strat pickup.
