It start off with bo staffs, hand to hand, and kick techniques, during the second half it brough in more mythological combat styles, and towards the end it gets even more insane with progressively more insane combat styles....
Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer, King Of Cookery are the best example of how to adapt anime into live action and this films specifically feels like they are adaptation of a Shonen Anime This and Shaolin Soccer are my childhood i have seen them like 1000 times and I'm not exaggerating 😂😂😂

She also had a small role in the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun
This movie probably has my favorite ending, its in the top 3 at the very least. I love the music, them working at the candy shop and how you see the younger selves of the guy and woman before he takes her into the candy shop.

The screeching landlady appeared in the 1974 James bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun. In the movie, both her and her sister helped defend Bond (Roger Moore) when he escaped from the karate compound from which he was being held.
Not a Chinese but Chinese movies were made fun for the excessive use of CGI. That's exactly what Hollywood is banking on in the name of super heroes now.
The problem with Chosen One stories, is that by now, those stories have been really over done in cinema. It's hard to do it in a way that's surprising. If you lead up too much, it takes away from the reveal. If you skip the foreshadowing, it can seem awkward & rushed. I think a pretty good balance was struck, based on the fine line that was being walked. I think the movie works far better than "The Golden Child" - another Chosen One story. (obviously) For another twist on a Golden Child type of story, you might like Jackie Chan's "The Medallion". For another classic Chinese mythological story with Stephen Chow, you might like "The Mad Monk". Of course, there's also "Shaolin Soccer", and I'm surprised so few have recommended that. That really is another must watch Stephen Chow film.

20:40 they didn't mummify him. They tried their best to heal him. But it's his cocoon to blossom from pupal to butterfly stage.
When I tell you I watched this movie MULTIPLE times as a kid and barely remember any of it😂
This has been one of my all time favorite movies for years! It is so unique!
This was too funny and Stephen Chow comedy genius to this movie. Should watch Shaolin Soccer that movie is masterpiece from Stephen Chow too

"you know he's the protagonist if he shaves off his goatee" was the most fire call
Love this movie. I saw it in theaters. And I actually really like the dub. Its kind of intentionally cheesy and terrible but its very faithful to the script. I never ever get tired of watching this movie. Its just such a super fun movie.
Kung Fu Hustle & Kung Pow: Enter the Fist were the movies back in the day
Watched this a lot as a kid. You should check out Shaolin Soccer, another Stephen Chow film kinda like this one.
The land lady is a famous martial artist actor for back Run Run Shaw era. Love this film. Great reaction.
You haven't seen this!!! Oh man I feel like this was actually a sneaky big deal movie for western audiences, I remember kids in highschool talking about it. Forget Crouching Tiger, if this movie didn't exist Parasite would have never won an oscar!!!

Go watch Flirting Scholar, Shaolin Soccer, God of Gambler and Journey To The West.
As Asian kids me being Hmong we grew up watching Stephen Chow. Don’t let the outdated movie turn you down cause Mr. Chow is the King of Comedy. Enjoy guys.
His old movies are all classics too but I guess they are hard to find nowadays plus eng subs back in the day really sucked. There’s probably like 100 movies he did that i’ve watched over 50 times growing up.
You havent watched kungfu hustle ? Wow it's incredibly rare to find someone who hasn't watched this movie!
Esse filme é muito bom, principalmente na época que foi lançado, quando filmes de heróis e pessoas com poderes não era tão popular como nos dias atuais. Sem falar que é uma ótima comédia
Yo ! This movie, like all Stephen Chow's movies, is UNFORGETTABLE !
It's simple, once you've seen one of his movies (like Shaolin Soccer, another cinematic UFO) you'll remember it for LIFE ! His style is so absurd and quirky and unique it just burns it imprint deep in your brain and never leaves you, like a funny curse that will follow you for the rest of your life.
So when you said "I think I might have seen this when I was 15" I was like " yeah, you've never watched it..."
You lucky bastard ^^.
Oh my goodness... I. LOVE. THIS. MOVIE!! Great reaction and I am so glad you appreciated such a great film.
