  • This dish was amazing. In fact, so good I will have to do it again, which I don't usually do. The smoky flavor mixed with the roasted tomatoes and collards was delicious and went so well with the Shrimp. AND the Parmesan Cheese in the Grits was beyond good!! Also, I am sharing just a little of how I make my sourdough bread and the book that has gotten me over the fear of working with sourdough starters. Enjoy and let me know what you think! Thanks again for watching and have a great week!!

I was thinking the same as you. When coughing into your hands, do not handle other food products or containers. Also, touch hair and face parts are taboo when handling foods. Germs are for real even though not seen.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Oh I LOVE you guys. Love watching you cook & bake & encourage each other. It's so amazing to see a strong (in the Lord) couple who knows how to communicate & be each other's cheerleaders & best friends...my parents celebrated 59 years yesterday, however they have NEVER communicated well & its sad. I learn so much from people like you & Solo & Sarah. My husband and I are coming up on 33 years. It's a work in progress but after the hardest year of our life last year, we lived to tell & are better for it! ❤
Anyhow, thank you but I do have a question. What are your favorite "must have" tools for making the Sourdough loaves. I haven't attempted even the starter yet bec I'm so scared I'll mess it up. Help! 😊
Many MANY blessings to you both!

I gotta add grits to my grocery list cuz now I'm craving it. All I want in my grits is butter, evaporated milk, & sugar. All my husband wants is salt & pepper.

Papa- you have such a palate for good food. If you have a middle eastern grocery store near you I would recommend some merguez lamb sausages or sujuk. I promise you will love it. It is great as a stand alone, and will go with many of your delicious vegetable dishes.

Looks yummy! Love your cooking videos. Never tried collards and shrimp, but my sister made some Cajun Collards and smoked sausage Gumbo today (South LA here). I make Shrimp & Grits quite often - so delicious! Tomatoes are usually in Creole dishes, normally they are not in Cajun - that's usually the main difference between the two.

My sister and I go to visit our parents each month. My mother recently remodeled her kitchen. She doesn't like the stovetop that was installed, so my sister brings her induction plate. I was using the plate recently, and I was amazed at how reactive the induction plate is! I don't understand how it works but, I was amazed!😊

Jerry, to cut the acid in tomato based dishes add some sugar - a teaspoon or too. I hope this helps - just taste it and you will tell if it is enough - my mom has the same problem!
