Yeah I got an 06 5.3 with the TSP high lift truck cam, 212/218 .600" 111 lsa. Sounds mean on true duals with hollow cats and cherry bomb extremes! With all bolt ons of course! 😍

Julian Frazier No the fuck it's not I hate when people say 5.3 is a vette engine it's not. Different heads different intake different everything.. iron block. It's a 'VORTEC' it's just very similar to the LS
It's not similar to an LS, it is an LS. It's not a vette engine, it's a truck engine. Vetted are higher displacement aluminum block variants. The gen 3/4 truck LS engines are 4.8l, 5.3l and 6.0l.
All of the GM V8 engines are LS based. Only the 6.0 that came in these trucks are the closest to a Corvette engine. the 4.8/5.3 are a smaller iron block version of the Corvette's Aluminum Block which makes it lighter. In all, if you slap a turbo or two on a 5.3 it'll definitely have more horsepower and torque than a Corvette engine. And the number one reason people like these small LSX engines is because they're cheap, reliable and make tons of power with small upgrades such as a cam or ported heads.

Being "loud" isn't what it takes 🤣 to change the type of sound you gotta change the timing events, which means cam swap. Mufflers won't give you this type of change
Biggest cam I've heard in a silverado I myself have a texas speed 216/220 cam 112lsa and its superb for street. But a tune makes world of difference. Most people also forget Injectors. My Silverado with same engine and smaller cam maxes out Injectors duty cycle trying to maintain a 13.0 afr.
-Sounds like a diesel. The body style of this truck is super great with all those really neat lines. Plus the color is a cool looking red. I would love to have this truck. Its a real eye pleaser. The sound probably sounds a lot better in person though.

Same truck I have. But mines Z71 stepside extended cab. Over all, these trucks are nice and hard to come by. Mines was recently hit on the driver side bed panel. Issues was, body shop could not locate the part for weeks. Found the part in Florida. I'm in California. Nice truck.

That’s my only concern getting it tuned right because I don’t won’t to use a carburetor I like the thought of not pumping the gas to get it running
Why not have your 5.3 block bord to 3.898 and use flat top LS1 pistons if you're buying pistons...then you've got a 346 with high compression for sub 6L money.

@@blowndome No actually, I've cammed 2 GMC Sierras and it doesn't significantly effect your mileage. For example, simply upgrading to 33inch tires hurts your mpg's worse than any cam.
