My brother in law gave me a '79 Z50R this past weekend. Its in pieces but everything seems to be in good shape. I have never worked on a motorcycle before so I am really excited to learn and this series has given me confidence I can do it. I love your step-by-step method and how you show EVERYTHING on camera. Thank you so much!!!
@@fupabox Well, here's an update, the motor is TOAST, rusted thru the entire valvetrain, bore and top of the piston. Time for a new one lol. But the frame is good so starting there. Wish me luck!
started of watching the series because i was looking for results of interrupting spark. does have spark but really weak and if it does run, it will for a few seconds and die. wont have spark for a while afterwards. this is strange because i bought it running and driving at a swap meet. used the bike for a straight week with no issues besides that it burns oil and will eventually foul the plug. i had to replace the plug once every other day. i bring it back home and rode it around in the RV park i live in for 2 days with no problems. July 4th, i go out at late evening to watch the fireworks and as im driving down the road just DIES. not a sputter and then quit like what a fouled plug would do. it wouldnt start afterwards. if you have any speculations as to what this could be. after watching your video, im thinking points or coil needs a replacement. like a said, ran great for a solid week and half with no issues besides smoking a bit and then just out of the blue nothing. not even changing the sparkplug to a new one fixed it. i enjoyed watching the series and watched all the way through. ive learned a lot and bought one of these bikes in the intentions of learning how to work on z50s.

Excellent. You’ll love the ease of working on it . It’s a great first project bike , and a perfect stress reliever .

Love the mini bike!
Keep the road king original (replace all bearings and wear items etc.)
thanks .. I think keeping original is the right thing to do
Think you have assembled exhaust wrong at cylinder
What are you selling it for? $$. In SK and interested.
sorry sold a while back
Tank looks awful you can tell it’s not original and been painted
