My english teacher in high school used to talk about this song again and again. Back then, I wasn't able to get the deep emotional meaning of this song. Years later, I'm so thankful to him, to my dear teacher in Karabük. Hope you see this comment one day. I'm typing this in tears now. God bless you, god give you lifelong happiness. Can I so so very kindly beg for a little of what your teacher use to say.... I'm listening to this for years... n always in tears... How the journey begins, n how the transition takes place in the journey, n showing comes to the end... I cannot imagine the mind of the composer, how he has told an ENTIRE story thru this piece. How it brings the listener to a complete shift, suspended in space n time... forever. How divine is this.... Wud really live to hear ur story...
@@killoe11 how can you say insufficient technique when talking about one the best guitarrists ever. The man was over 70 years old when he recorded this and he stil nailed it.
I was fortunate enough to attend to a Narciso Yepes concert along with "Cuarteto Latinoamericano de cuerdas" about 30 years ago. It took place in the wonderful Juárez theatre in Guanajuato city México. During the Festival Internacional Cervantino. I was most interested in the dancing events as I'm a dancer, and swear to dance in that theatre someday, wich i did. 30 years later i still remember the maestro performing an encore after another until he standed up, took his foot stool and leave. I still feel overwhelmed by his mastery and no other of the great guitarrist can bring the same feelings than him.... And learning to play the guitar after all these years ;) ;) What a piece of genius he was!!
My favorite classical guitarist. Not just technically masterful but emotionally arresting; he always imparts poignancy to his performances. But he seems to be very under-appreciated.
Angry! Angry! Angry! How much tenderness on your guitar, my GOD, that I can have all the humility sir to be able to appreciate such a beautiful song! Please LORD our GOD!

thanks for sharing it with liners. this song is magic to me; the whole suite.it has a touching melody in the adagio but it is in the whole a great thing magical and when I saw it the first time here it was not with Narciso Yepes, but his playing is more outstanding than of the most others... excepted maybe the Concert with Paco de Lucia. I think it makes a big difference if it is played by a classical guitar player without flamenco influences or by a Spanish guitar player with these influences.
Sublissime !
Yepes' performance of this concerto was my introduction to the piece about 27 years ago. I was intrigued by his use of a ten stringed instrument. I think he plays the cadenza on this performance beautifully!
This is so awesome. Thanks so much for posting this video. My marching band is actually playing this for our show this year and I'm playing the solo in the beginning but I'm playing it as a trumpet solo not as an oboe solo. This is where I was told to get the style from
This music to me is simply overwhelming! It is truly sweeping and majestic. My tastes in music have been described to me as eclectic, as I am as comfortable with Dvorak as I am Dokken. If this music doesn't move you, check your pulse, because it makes you glad to be alive!

the best version ever recorded...
i think so too. the double reed instruments superb, Narciso was perfect from start to fini

Exactly 👍🏻
no way! insufficient technique slows down the scales and they are not clean. No way, it's not the best version by far!
